  1. So Indonesia does have some wiggle room in case plans change. Guess what the US tries to do with a six month visa... give your girlfriend some room to stay without having to extend it. I guess if a tourist visa that gives you some wiggle room where you'd also have to use some common sense to know when she can return no longer serves you, she can always marry you, apply for a green card, then become a citizen and then be able to come and go as she pleases without ever worrying about an overstay.
  2. Would you rather they gave her a very cut and dry limit, for example 30 days and if her flight gets cancelled and she overstays, make her incur in a bar for an overstay through no fault of her own?!
  3. Not only that, but also OP is worried about how her being on WIC would affect their parents' application where her own green card hasn't been approved yet. Counting the eggs before they hatch.
  4. Your question is wrong. Your question should be "will me and my husband being on food stamps affect my eligibility for a green card?". The question is who is YOUR sponsor? On the other hand, you are not sponsoring your parents with their B1/ B2. There is no such thing. They will apply in their own merits. Coming to help you with a new born should be the answer when they ask "what is the purpose of your visit?" and yes, they'll likely be denied.
  5. Not OP's situation. Your K1 had no supplementary use. OP is on a CR1 and is concerned about her entry to other places messing up with the CR-1 page where her I-551 should be stamped.
  6. Nope, strong ties are a formal job, a lease, owning property….
  7. Thank you! Yes, I think they also ask the addresses on the i-485, and since I’m filing based on the three year rule, some of the addresses listed there with the dates might still be accurate. What’s confusing is that I’m filing on the three year rule, yet it’s wanting addresses, employment and travel history for the last five years, so…
  8. Hi again all, just another question about addresses for the past five years. Is it ok if the dates are slightly off? For example two weeks or a week. I’m trying hard to remember and I will also see if those addresses were listed on my i-485, but if they weren’t and I can’t remember the dates very well, would it be an issue?
  9. Yeah I know and I agree with you, I was just saying if OP decided to conceal/ misrepresent their relationship, it might bring issues in the future should the kid petition for someone else
  10. I will start by saying that I know nothing about adoptions etc etc and I believe @Family said this shouldn’t be an issue. However, looking into the bigger picture, imagine that your nephew becomes a USC and wants to petition someone else when older. This information would for sure come up. That being said, the plan itself might work out. Just don’t conceal information
  11. Thank you! I just saw this reply. Yeah, I now know that I can proceed without it. Definitely not needed. I have almost everything ready to go, now I just need to verify some addresses and employment dates and I’ll be ready to submit on Sunday!
  12. Hope it’s an approval!!! You should probably wait a few hours and it will push through the Case Tracker app
  13. I’m following your timeline. I’m in Columbus OH and will be applying this Sunday. Let’s keep each other posted.
  14. Why did they take so long? What updates did you have?
  15. With all these years USCIS will probably wonder if there has ever been a claim to citizenship, so worth the consult with an attorney
  16. We'll just need to look through the very thick and messy binders to find it hahahahaa
  17. Muchas gracias! I'm almost done with uploading stuff, just need my husband's BC and then wait until my window opens!
  18. Howdy y'all! I have yet another question: I have a stepson. On the N400 application it is asking me about his info, which I provided. However, when I do get to the "evidence" part it is asking me for his birth certificate and evidence of child support. It says "if you don't provide this evidence your application may be delayed". I can definitely provide his birth certificate, but of course my name will not be in there. Also, my husband is the one paying child support. I can provide the evidence that he's been paying, but is it necessary for this application? Can I submit it as it is and then provide it at the interview?
