CR1 approved in 82 days
Rocio0010 replied to carlyirene's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Just chiming in that the “cleanliness” of the case has most likely little effect on how long the process takes. Yes, obviously people with criminal records take longer, but sometimes people with perfectly straightforward cases can be the unlucky ones that land in the hands of a lazy officer . I’m not saying that this will be your case, but just making the distinction because it is important to be hopeful, yet realistic. Also, the two folks here that told you that the i-130 is approved and not the CR-1 were actually trying to be realistic with you and make sure you understood this is a part of the process. While it is a milestone, you still have some steps to go through, which can take a while. Hopefully not, but just know it has little to do with the “cleanliness” of your case. -

Wait, I’m confused. Are you filing for a spousal or a fiancé? Or did you mail the i-129f as part of the K3? -
This thread is giving me the stamina to at least consider WoMing USCIS. If don’t hear anything by December, I’ll spend my winter break researching on it. But I have my hopes that something good might come my way before then. Let this be a lesson for future applicants: do not overload your applications, I repeat: DO NOT OVERLOAD YOUR APPLICATIONS

Of course you should have

Do you know what was said during those conversations? Did you send IRS tax return transcripts? If so, why did you send H&R too? Can you post a picture of the NOID, blurring personal information? People here are actually trying to help you. I think you’re just frustrated with the situation and are taking it on us -but we’re not USCIS!

I hope so!!! I want to believe that the money I spent putting my six- pounder together was well spent! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your experience!

N-400 evidence - 3 year rule
Rocio0010 replied to shannen150's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
That’s always my explanation too! Hahaha Definitely! Not at all! In fact most applicants that apply around the same time I did already had their interviews. The only difference I know between me and them (except one case) is that all of them were applying under the five year rule, and therefore, didn’t have a pending 751. Except for one. I have a pending 751 and my package was too thorough —I sent about 6 lbs of evidence. So maybe that’s the holdup?- 18 replies

N-400 evidence - 3 year rule
Rocio0010 replied to shannen150's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
It’s ok! But you made me freak out for a minute lol. I applied in February of this year and I have been uploading unsolicited evidence for a while, but my case hasn’t moved and for a moment you had me thinking that was the reason lol- 18 replies

Don’t get mad at us. We are pointing out the things that USCIS finds sketchy about your case. If you think the case has been denied because of the address, then why did you presented us with the rest of the reasons? also what exactly do you mean with “other joys on the past “? Is there something else that USCIS is using against you?

Of course! Why wouldn’t you? A signature is part of your identity. This is like asking me “hey, your first name is Rocío. Do you use that same name when you sign up for the gym and when you make a doctor’s appointment?”. Of course you do! Especially looking at the broader picture of your case. I am sure I will miss details of your case here, but thanks to @Mike E for reminding us of the background. You have a criminal case against you. That’s serious enough to guarantee the need of a lawyer (and for the record, I’m the biggest advocate for DIY). Also, your wife wrote a statement consisting of four pages. Four pages!!! I’m afraid this is a case of disclosing too much information that might end up hurting you. Statements are usually weak evidence, but one should be careful on what to include in a case like yours, because it might end up incriminating you. Same with the H&R Block tax returns. One can easily fake those… but not the IRS ones. Yes, immigration can be DIY… but not in a case like yours!
