  1. Yep, I uploaded the letter with the rest of the documents!
  2. So here’s what I understood: spouse 1 was a DV winner. He was a beneficiary. Guy got arrested for DV, then she went to SA and got divorced. He moved after this, several times. But because someone told her they needed to divorce in the USA, she did it, so now she’s got two divorce decrees: one from SA and another one from the US. In between all of this, he applied for a spousal visa for spouse number 2, whom she knew even before he married spouse number 1. Both him and spouse 2 are from Congo. Marriage with spouse 2 is invalid because apparently the decree from SA isn’t valid. So if he got married to number 2 while still married to 1, marriage 2 is invalid. Aaaaand he was apparently surprised that the officer spent an hour looking at addresses, and that he didn’t get the approval yet. Am I missing something?
  3. If I don’t, I won’t hear the end of it at work! Hahaha
  4. I’m going to watch it again for the fourth time now on my way home. Columbus doesn’t do same day oath unfortunately
  5. Thank you so so much. No, it will not impact my trip. In my mind, if they didn’t schedule me for an interview by end of June, the interview was going to be for end of August or later. So I bought the tickets to be back by mid- August just in case. The timeline worked perfectly
  6. I doubt it. How will they know about my plans to travel, when USCIS doesn’t even have my new passport number? Oh yeah!! I mean I already told him to let work know he’s going to be late that day, but yeah I forgot to make that clear here!
  7. I watched it yesterday. I swear I had to watch it three times to understand the story. It gave me a headache.
  8. Howdy everyone! Today I woke up to a status update: my N400 interview has been scheduled!!! August 30th at 8:00 am!!! Anyhow, I was planning on bringing my copy of the 751 package, and updated evidence of the N400 from the time Of submission, and of course the documents they request in the letter. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!! Tomorrow is my 40th birthday, this feels like a good birthday present. FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS A MI!!
  9. Thank you. I haven’t had the interview yet. And I know that, once you take the oath, you need to travel on your US passport, which takes a long time. So I want to see my family before I’m “stuck” here
  10. Thank you. Sadly, I don’t even have an interview date yet. And yes, I’m aware of the residency requirements. This is just my short yearly trip where I go back home and eat home- made food hahaa
  11. Cool! Does he have a package? Does he know where he’s going to and what he’s going to do? If you DM I can give you quite a few suggestions
  12. I’m going to see my family in Argentina!!! Usually tickets are super expensive. Think of $1400 one way. Well, the other day I found round trip tickets for $750!!! So I said I’m leaving!!!
  13. Just checking to see if it’s ok to travel out of the country with a pending N400. I am 100% positive, but just wanting to double check. And yeah I know I need the extension letter+passport+expired green card and the marriage certificate due to a name change!
  14. Wow! I just saw this. What does your international student advisor say? Did someone say it in written that the transfer was successfully done? Did they give you a copy of the new I-20? The other thing to consider is that you say that you’re enrolled in a “practicum”. Be very weary because even though it is a program requirement, chances are that DHS might construe it as “work”, which is unauthorized under an F1 student visa. Hopefully you applied for CPT and your university is making sure you follow the guidelines and regulations for an international student, and not jeopardizing your status. And yes, all of this can be a problem for immigration.
  15. Not all of us. I applied for N400 in January of this year, and it’s been radio silence since I did my biometrics on Febr 6
  16. Interesting. So there’s hope for me! The only reason I realized about that change in the date is because I saw a number 1 on my case tracker app. Kinda like when you have a new WhatsApp message. Hope I’m making sense
  17. I was about to ask you about the visit you received, when I read your other post. It’s all good news! In my case, my 751 is still dormant. Nothing, niente, nada, and I filed a few days after you. I also have my pending n400, and the only movement I saw was that the date of “actively being reviewed” change from February 6 (the date I did my biometrics) to June 15. I’m assuming someone touched my file, but that’s it.
  18. Not sure what you mean… your name is in the forms, so how would a name on the mandamus be any different?
  19. Wow, relax. The wait has just began. It will be when it will be. In my case, the text message took about 10ish days, and the extension letter came after two weeks approx. Nothing to do other than chill and continue to live life.
  20. Would it make you feel better if you called them again tomorrow? What are you trying to achieve?
