    I never got a notification, but once I was randomly checking my N400 status and I noticed that the "actively being reviewed" status date changed from Feb to June. And then about 3 weeks later the status changed to "interview scheduled". Also, my 751 was pending, and on July 17th (six days after I got the interview scheduled status update) it was approved, out of the blue. My interview is tomorrow at 8:00 am!!! So yours might be coming soon.

    I just read this. Congrats! I have my interview tomorrow at 8:00 am at the Columbus Field Office!! I wanted to ask you, did they give you a paper after the interview? What did the paper say? And did you have any online status update after your interview?

    Well, given the circumstances I actually think I’m being generous with a 5%. If USCIS applies the law in this case, OP should at least have an interview. At least.

    Yes, we see your questions and your responses. You’re the one that’s skipping answers. I was the one to suggest you were trolling, because there are so many red flags in your case which you seem to take lightly. A troll is someone who posts stuff online just to antagonize people. I’m sorry if your case is true. What you seem to fail to understand is that the false claim you’ve made for VAWA, all the coming back and forth with your wife, you living and having an affair with other women, purchasing a car with them, the fraud accusation, will make your chances of approval less than 5%. Ask Jim Hacking tomorrow and see what he says

    Not only that, but the wife didn't know about his living arrangements. He sent his wife money regularly. He also had an affair with another lady and got her pregnant. He bought one of her "roomates" a phone. He tried to purchase a car with the "roomate". So in answer to your question, I think he's trying to game the system... And I am not an IO.

    It all means that you’re reading too much into it. “Actively reviewing your case” is the same as working for on your case, even though they’re not doing anything . Their webpage is usually down so I wouldn’t trust that either. You’re just waiting.

    Wrong to apply for citizenship when you have an important trip planned. Citizenship does not take as long as the other processes. Ando no, once you’re a USC you have to use the US passport to leave the US. You can always apply for an emergency passport, but that doesn’t solve the issue of how soon the oath ceremony will be.

    Yep. A denial, imho, is no biggie. Also yes. I feel like this is a gray area that USCIS hasn’t caught up with, in the sense that they don’t seem to understand that a divorce decree takes time to produce. Moreover, some States have a trial separation prior to. What I would have done is to inform them of the divorce proceedings and wait for the RFE for the DD. If I have it hand, fine. If not, I’d have written an affidavit explaining that the decree is not ready. And if they denied my 751, then I can always reapply. I prefer dealing with a denial than with a pesky officer at the N400 interview. That being said, OP, you’re probably fine.

    Yes, always tell them the truth if asked. I think you should be ok because you’re not filing under the three year rule. That is a different animal because you have to be married and living together for three years with your USC spouse. You can ask Hacking on his show. He’s an immigration lawyer that has a YouTube show. I think his next episode is today at 4 CDT.

    What do you mean? They’re not going to come knocking on your door to ask you. It was on you to inform them that you were not together anymore. That being said, you should be good to apply under the five year rule.

    So then it’s everything you submitted for your 751 in terms of marital evidence, just updated +front and back of your gc+ spouse’s birth/ Nat certificate + IRS tax return transcripts + marriage certificate.

    What do you mean when you say that "somehow" you lost your status? What's the story?

    Are you the USC or the beneficiary? what country is beneficiary from? What was the reason for requesting the expedite?
