  1. His attorney should be fired, since he didn’t do anything at the interview, and he’s also saying this situation is “very common”. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of it. Where’s your friend originally from? Did he finish his studies? Has the wife ever filed for someone else? Are they from the same background?
  2. Obviously the IO saw some red flags. Where is your friend from? Any age difference? What visa was he on when he adjusted status?
  3. I think it depends on the rest of the marital evidence that you CAN submit. If you really don't have much financial evidence, then yes, wait. But if you do have solid evidence, I don't think a tax return will make a difference. Neither. It is based on the expiration date of your green card. Not really, but getting an extension letter is proof of your status should you need to travel. So, to me, the earlier, the better.
  4. Did you file for 751? I am not going to comment on the time you need to have spent in the US, because that has already been addressed. However, there is also another requirement, and it is that you need to prove that you've been living together with your spouse for three years. You said that when you were in Ukraine for 290 something days, you only lived together for half that time. So, you don't qualify right now because you haven't lived with your spouse for three years. Did you apply for the 751?
  5. Got my approval today!!! No interview.... I will have my N400 interview August 30th. It's the light at the end of the tunnel!
  6. Exactly. Go ahead, cross that border, and ding ding ding case approved
  7. I am going to miss those guys hahahaa. I am a little bit proud because I've done both my AOS and ROC without attorneys. I did have an RFE for the I-864 back in the day, but that's when I created my VJ account and was able to sort it out even before I had the letter in hand. I sent the reply about a week later. I am also proud because I have never had an interview so far, neither for my AOS nor for my ROC. They must have liked my cases!
  8. Everyone: my understanding is that now I will not need my husband for the interview because it will not be a combo interview since my 751 is approved?
  9. Awww thanks!!! Yes, I think I’m the only case that I know of with no interview up to naturalization. I feel like the finish line is so close it’s almost hard to believe!
  10. More good news coming my way!!! My 751 just got approved today!!! The same day I landed to my beautiful Argentina!
  11. Be specific: how many people that you know of have you heard this happen? a Also, what’s the other option? Not take the DNAs and never have the visas? Is that what you want?
  12. I believe I have read all your posts.. So, you filed a joint 751, you separated (not divorced), USCIS was not made aware of the separation, and they approved a joint application. Now you are thinking of applying for N400. If this is the case, do not file without talking to an immigration attorney first. And shop around for attorneys. Stay clear of any attorney telling you that it's all good and making it look like a ride in the park.
  13. No point in worrying about the delays after the DNA when you haven't even done the test yet. Do the next right thing to do, which is, to take the test. Worry about delays after.
  14. They’re obsolete. Only a handful were issued in the last few years. Try a spousal visa
  15. Not all of them do same day oaths. I know for sure Columbus doesn’t. I just Google Naturalization ceremonies+ Ohio, but in my case it’s only giving me the northern district ones Gracias!
  16. I just found out how to find my old threads in this new version of VJ. Anyhow, interview scheduled for August 30th at 8:00 am… wohooo!!! I can’t find the oath ceremony scheduled. I only see them for Cleveland… how do I find oath ceremony dates?
