I130 Expediting
Rocio0010 replied to Lovers123's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
I will say this at the risk of getting banned for providing unsolicited, non- immigration related advice. But here we go. Take a huuuuuge step back and read what you’ve written. You claim that she gets severely sick because you are far from her. And I get it, this process can be taxing to say the least, but if she gets physically sick due to you not being around, you have way bigger problems than immigration. She has terrible codependency, and that’s not a healthy relationship at all! Imagine if she’s here and all of a sudden you have to leave for whatever reason (work, family illness, etc), you’re signing up for a miserable life if you she doesn’t deal with her codependency . So her focus right now should be working on that, and her getting better, than continuing with this process. And your focus should be to think if you really want to build a life with things the way they are now. And no, love doesn’t conquer all. Sorry to be blunt, but someone had to. That being said, if you really want to pursue this, you can try for an expedite request, but don’t get your hopes up. -

How much did you pay your lawyer?
Rocio0010 replied to Visitor User's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
Attorney fees vary a lot. If your case is complicated, you can expect $7-12 or even more. Also, keep in mind that VJ is mostly full of DIYers, so you probably won't get much people that used attorneys in here. -
Again? Your wife had a child by another man, spent several months during her pregnancy away with her brother, you had three interviews for your 751, you had a stoke interview in 2020…another interview sometimes later. Three years after filing nothing has been approved, and she’s moved to another State? Dude, quit playing with fire

N400 interview scheduled!
Rocio0010 replied to Rocio0010's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Y'all, this morning I received a notification... Eight days after I received my certificate!!! Saying "certificate was issued". Before opening the notification I thought "wait, what? Did they regret their decision? So soon?" lol -
You yourself are calling it a real wedding, even though you wouldn’t sign any document. So why would the Department of State consider it differently? You’re risking an unnecessary denial. Just go to Colombia, get married, do the wedding, come back, file for a spousal visa. That way, you know for sure you’re on the right track. Plus, your spouse would be a resident as soon as they land into the US. You’d skip the fees and time of adjusting her status. Additionally, if she waits until the 2nd anniversary of your wedding, she’d get a 10 year card instead of a 2 year one.

File N400 or wait for i751 approval

I did. But I really doubt it made a difference. The officer was looking at my file as we spoke. -
File N400 or wait for i751 approval
Rocio0010 replied to whiterose123's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
In my case, I can confirm that filing for the N400 did nothing to the 751. The reason why I say can confirm is that my officer didn't even know I had filed for a 751 when I got to the interview (my 751 was approved roughly 5 weeks prior to my N400 interview). The funny thing is that the officer asked me how long 751s were taking, because his wife had a pending one. It gave me feeling that the two processes don't "communicate" with each other. I should have asked him there. -
I thought you said you have an attorney. Did you ask him this question?
