  1. I emailed them in October 2019. I am still waiting on a reply. BTW, I became a citizen in 2023.
  2. Curious: how did you get your green card? Also, did you naturalize? Your profile says it's pending...
  3. Sorry, but I am just trying to point out your "inconsistencies" (so to speak) before you actually try to attempt it with CBP. Probably you have not dealt with CBP a lot, and you can expect to get asked the same type of questions that I am asking here. If a stranger on the internet that does not have anything to do with CBP sees some inconsistencies, you can bet CBP has seen that movie before, too. I know you have all the intentions to do things the right way. I believe in you. CBP does not have any obligation to do so, and will make a decision based on the answers you give them when attempting to enter. The first thing they try to pick is inconsistencies such as the one you have presented here. CBP will also make those assumptions. You are under no obligation to explain it to me or anyone here, but since the purpose of your trip is to do some research, it has EVERYTHING to do with your questions. Otherwise, if you were not doing this research, this trip would not happen (at least that's my understanding based on how you have presented your facts). Sorry if I hurt you. I am just trying to help. Good luck with everything.
  4. It's the only way to do it, unless you get another visa for your research. Then I would print those "confirmations" out, and take them with you for when you enter the US. You might not have to show them, but if the need arises, then you're better prepared.
  5. But yet when I asked you, you said that you would not have looked in that city if your partner had not lived there, so which is which?
  6. Forget about it! Lying to CBP is a terrible idea. It WILL be discovered, and you might likely face a permanent bar to the US. I am curious to know who in the Embassy told you that you can use your ESTA. Was it just a secretary over the phone? Or was it someone with knowledge on ESTA? And most importantly, did you get this in written? If CBP asked you why you can't interview people in Europe, or even in another city in the US, what would you tell them?
  7. Yeah that's too much coincidence, isn't it. You can't work while you're on ESTA. How do you know that they are going to allow you for such a long time?
  8. I know, right??! I remember doing it and thinking "this is the biggest immigration benefit possible, and yet it sounds so easy!" My interview felt more like a casual conversation!
  9. Yep. Ask me how and why I got my one and only RFE six years ago!!! And that's exactly how I created my VisaJourney account. Let me find the post and paste it here.
  10. Wait, what? Why did she ever say she was working if she was not?
  11. Exactly what transcripts did you provide? Tax return transcripts, or tax account transcripts? Are you 100% sure he did not count you twice? Has he ever sponsored another person before? No, don't make anything "match". Do his paystubs and contract state that in 2024 he is expected to make 120k? Did he provide proof of US citizenship?
  12. Need to adjust your expectations. They take months. In the meantime, I would be researching and reading reviews about competent immigration attorneys.
  13. ? Regardless of what "PI" means, you need to work with your ISO from both universities and consult with an immigration attorney
  14. You're being very casual about this. Why are you trying to reach out to her?
  15. Nobody HAS a right to be in the US except for GC holders and citizens (that have obtained their citizenship the right way). You obtained your citizenship because you lied to them... Yikes!
  16. Not needed. What they need to do is to actually get very acquainted with the process themselves. Nothing an attorney can do that you can't. Not really. Why do you say this? If she has a visa she can enter, as long as she leaves on time and answers questions truthfully. Also not true.
  17. That's the key word in all your narrative. B1/B2 visas are NOT meant to live in the US. And CBP knows that. Just because the visa has a six month validity it does not mean she's entitled to stay the full six months. CBP does not own her anything, and any entrance until you're a resident is at their won discretion. So, whether you like it or not, don't push them because they will deny her entry next time, and that will result in a bar. Go to Ecuador or meet somewhere else until she gets the K1. Keep those encounters to a minimum.
  18. I am afraid this was a mistake by the CO, which is unfortunate because it puts OP in a pickle. I have always filed my petitions in January, and not once was I required to submit the tax return for the last year.
  19. Maybe a FOIA request Not necessarily. Like I said, the left hand does not necessarily know what the right hand does.
  20. Is there any chance you could travel the night before?
