You can check the fees here. It would seem you need to do more research on what it's going to take to actually come to the US. Fiancé visas require the initial filing, the adjustment of status and then the removal of conditions. A marriage visa will require the initial filing and then the removal of conditions if you enter the US before your 2nd wedding anniversary. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees Immigration is never cheap, easy or fast. Keep that in mind. Another factor potentially is what country you're originally from.

K1 visa second time
mam521 replied to KateriandKurt1's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Doesn't have to be in SA. They could meet and marry. Or Utah online and meet after to complete the requirements. -
I'm chuckling at this because we all know that Montreal is slow to update anything! This is just another example of the cherry on top.

2 Months process time?
mam521 replied to Speedy troy's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
The CBP officer won't be able to do anything there. However, if it's after your 2 year anniversary, it should trigger with USCIS and automatically change. I know the CBP officer can't change anything because I asked when I did the exact same thing . We entered the day after our 2 year anniversary. My GC and Kid1's GC came as IR, 10 year GC's. Kid2's didn't. I had to file an I-90 to get them to fix it but it was not a big deal and didn't cost us anything other than the time and annoyance to fill out the forms and send the information to them. -

I'd still call, ask to talk to a Tier 2, explain and see if they will expedite. Once the I-130 is approved, do the same for NVC and again for the consulate. -
My husband moved from the UK to Italy for work at one point in his career. He had no choice but to learn Italian at the time because there was very limited English in Milan. He had sticky notes taped to everything with what the Italian word was and he hired a language coach who would spend a couple of hours 2x a week conversing with him so he could understand and learn the pronunciation and cadence of the language. He will tell you that's the only reason he was able to survive there for 3 years! English isn't an easy language and as has been pointed out, there are a large number of colloquialisms and unusual rules that don't really make sense. Half the time I don't understand my kids and have to follow up with a "#######" so they explain the new slang they are using. It would likely be 100% beneficial for her to take ESL classes and maybe get a conversation coach just so she learns how to speak and understand, like my hubs did. Absolutely no shame in it. Then, she'll rock the N-400. Good luck!

I'd have delayed her interview, TBH. But what's done is done. Is baby not eligible for CRBA? -
Nicole and Mahmoud have been together for over 4 years IIRC. His GC will be a full IR1, not a CR1. In some ways, I can empathize with her - she went to Egypt for some time, didn't adopt a hijab, but did cover herself because she refused to change 100% to fit the "acceptable" mold where Mahmoud was from. I suspect had they been in a big center like Cairo, things would have been easier. But when he's so enthralled with women wearing hijabs in the US and finds them so attractive, I have to question how in the he!! those two got married in the first place! Jazmine and Gino are a mess. I'm surprised that she made it to the States. The fact that he didn't put her kids on the K1 to come as K2's is rather dodgy and the fact that she didn't even attempt to work with him on the paperwork is a failing on her part. Both are educated individuals. He's an engineer and she was a school teacher. There are no excuses for her not to be able to understand the forms Gino had to fill out. Anyone watch the tell all with Nutalie and Big Mike serving her divorce papers?

Did anyone receive an interview letter? Saw on another thread that some letters had gone out...

The ITIN is just a tax number. Apply. It doesn't hurt. It can be used in place of your SSN until you're eligible to be issued a SSN and any credit history associated to that ITIN can be transferred to your SSN. It's 100% advantageous to have that ITIN until you're through with AP.

Any time someone from USCIS does something with your case, even if it's just open it, you'll get a notification. They probably just acknowledged your filing as @JeanneAdil stated and you'll probably get a NOA with the case number and priority date mailed to you. If you log into your MyUSCIS case, find your filing and look at documents, there's more than likely that same NOA in digital copy there.

We've been standing in different international locations and get a text to approve a transaction. I also have my accounts text me with every transaction so I know when my card has been run. Call me a skeptical Canadian who's used to table side terminals, but I think American banking is SOOO far behind basically every Western country out there!

I-864 submission - haven't filed taxes
mam521 replied to RekhaG's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Have you filed his 2023 returns as well? The IRS will have prioritized current filings over past filings, unfortunately. Montreal is a consulate that lacks empathy for the most part. You're going to need proof that the returns have been filed. -

Depends on the bank. Our bank will notify us either by sending a text to approve or calling before authorizing the transaction when it seems out of the ordinary. Hubs had a $6000 fraudulent transaction attempt by scammers at BestBuy that the bank called him about to authorize and he's like nope, that is definitely not me! Online scammers had gotten his card number from somewhere and were trying to buy a TV or something!

Since her husband is not present, she will require the listed father to fill out a completed DS-3053 form and have it notarized. Also note, she will have to take the baby to the Passport Office for the appointment.

Just let your bank know that you are making a payment to USCIS so they don't try to block it!

2 Months process time?
mam521 replied to Speedy troy's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Call back and ask to speak to a Tier 2 and explain that Mom's application has been processing and provide her PD. Usually the Tier 2's are able to better service your case. Is Mom's I-130 approved already? Her NOA (and possibly her approval) should serve as a pretty strong reason to expedite. There have been some people who've recently had I-130's approved freakishly quickly with no understood explanation. But, the information on MyUSCIS is horribly inaccurate and a total crapshoot, so stick with what you know from your partner's case and stay skeptical with USCIS!
