  1. As someone who was denied boarding at the gate by United in July 2022 after being checked in, I would say that you should get a visa for Mexico unless your passport allows visa free entry. Or you have another valid visa in your passport like a Canadian tourist visa or Schengen visa.
  2. Make sure you click on other, and then type in "Entire Alien file". Do not select the individual form types.
  3. I got scheduled for the interview yesterday. Hopefully it doesn’t get canceled again.
  4. No updates yet. I requested my I-485 file under FOIA and they couldn’t find it. So now I think that they have misplaced the A-file or it is in storage and they haven’t gotten to retrieving it.
  5. I have been waiting for 9 months. In January they scheduled a interview for March. But they canceled the interview a few days after scheduling it due to “unforeseen circumstances”. I have been waiting for a new interview date since the last 2.5 months. Chicago field office.
  6. Nothing yet since I went to the field office. I got a response from the FOIA request with a copy of my permanent resident card and a copy of the N400 form that was already submitted online. Nothing on the rescheduling of the interview yet.
  7. Right, but the green card is expired. The website doesn’t mention anything about an extension notice. As somebody who’s been denied boarding at the gate because of the green card plus extension notice combo, I’ve become extra careful with all requirements(not traveling to Jamaica, but Mexico)
  8. Assuming you are from Nigeria, the Jamaican immigration website says that you will need a visa. https://www.pica.gov.jm/immigration/entry-visa-requirements The best way to figure out whether you need a visa or not is to email the Jamaican embassy with a copy of all your travel documents (passport, expired green card and extension notice) and see what their response is. If they say, you do not need a visa, then print out that email and take it with you to the airport and show it to the airline if they try to deny you boarding.
  9. I did go to the field office on March 6th. I checked in on the 2nd floor as was mentioned in the notice. They of course could not find the appointment so I spoke to the supervisor and he said he could not find the appointment either. He said he was going to put my application back in line for scheduling an interview. It’s been close to 3 weeks and there has been no change yet. I was reading in the Facebook groups that filing an FOIA request can sometimes help expedite the interview date so I did that on March 8th. I’ve only gotten an acknowledgment from USCIS that they’ve received my FOIA request and will let me know when the documents are ready.
  10. Nothing yet. It’s been over 3 weeks since the interview was canceled.
  11. No I’m not the person from Facebook! My i751 date was 7/28/2021 and n400 filing date was 7/26/2022.
  12. I751 just got approved at Nebraska service center. Noa date 7/28/2021 2/14/2023 - new card is being produced and case was approved. I did get a biometrics waiver letter but never received a biometrics were applied to your case notification online. N400 applied online on 7/26/2022 - chicago field office. Interview scheduled two times for March and both the interviews have been canceled by Uscis due to unforeseen circumstances. Waiting for a new interview date.
  13. Even mine was chicago. I just got notification today that my i751 was approved at the Nebraska service center. Nothing on the n400 interview being rescheduled. My n400 interview was originally scheduled for march 3rd. That got cancelled and I received a new interview date of March 6th. That got canceled about a week ago and hasn’t been rescheduled.
  14. Yes do not travel to Mexico with an expired Gc and extension letter. Get a visa instead. Canada explicitly states that they allow expired gc+ permanent resident cards plus valid passport as valid entry documents. Not sure why United was giving you problems with that.
  15. I was traveling to Cancun from Chicago in July 2022 with United. I got my boarding pass at the check in counter. When I got to the gate, they told me that upon secondary verification, they decided that my documents were not sufficient for entry into Mexico and they had taken me off the flight and my bags were being sent back to the carousel. No matter what I showed them, they refused to let me board.
  16. Even United will not let you board to Mexico with a expired gc and extension letter.
  17. Has anyone else gone though this? Interview at the Chicago field office got canceled twice due to unforeseen circumstances. First interview was supposed to be on March 3rd and then the second interview date was March 6th. Both have been canceled.
  18. I was in the Dominican Republic last month. I also have an Indian passport and expired permanent resident card and extension notice. Had no problems going and coming. I had emailed the Embassy and had printed out their response confirming that I did not need a visa in case the airlines gave any problems. Mexico on the other hand does not accept extension notices(the airlines here will not let you board with an extension notice) and I had emailed the embassy in Chicago and they wanted me to get a tourist visa.
  19. I applied for N-400 online on July 26th 2022. Chicago field office. I-751 pending at Nebraska Service center since July 2021 with no updates. Got an update for the N-400 saying that the interview was scheduled for March 3rd but then when I checked the documents there was an interview de-scheduled notice as well. Not sure what’s going on. Has this happened to anyone else? Biometrics for both cases have been reused from I-485.
