I taught Art (volunteering) at the Demonstration School for the Deaf Mampong-Akuapem in 2017. My husband a native of Ghana teaches shoemaking and marketing skills at the school. We became friends and traveled together on holidays and weekends. He is a history buff and knows a lot about his country's history. We started dating and he introduced me to all of his village community. I returned home to California, but we talked almost daily. In 2018 I went back to visit him during summer break. He proposed a week before I returned to the US to start the school year. In June of 2019 my entire family traveled to Ghana for our wedding. My family spent 17 days traveling to some of the many wonderful places in Ghana. His family and my family enjoyed each others company. We are trying to get his I-130 Visa now.
