Tourist visa denied.. worried this will impact future family visa
Patrick Lee replied to mnelove97's topic in Tourist Visas
You both muddled up the preparations before he went to the embassy. -you mentioned ab initio he was your husband -he claimed he had no US ties, why? RED FLAG -he went applying with his brother, was that your original plans for him? -he applied for B2 visa in Jan 2024 and was denied -You got married July 2024 -he reapplied in sept. 2024. Why the whole rush( Jan, July, sept). I would be worried too if am the embassy staff. A little more gap would have been ideal. Embassy staff saw it that this dude is DESPERATE. Kindly hire a good Attorney if you want to get off this mess. Good luck! -
Lol, It sounded funny when I was reading your piece. Dont be scared man.Its a normal thing. Its their duty to collect expired Gcs once they are expired at points of interviews. They did same to me back in 2018. By now you ought to have a photocopy at your possession. You should be celebrating now and popping Champaign that your case has come to an end. On a lighter and funny mood, hope u wont divorce sooner?

Patrick Lee replied to nere0331's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Which location center is on Gears Road. Congratulations to u and husband. This is never an easy journey. Many are stuck on this journey 10 to 15 years and even more. Whoever arrives finally ought to celebrate. Once again, big congratulations! -

is citizenship possible?
Patrick Lee replied to lprintheus's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
2025 is your due time to file, but I dont know your month that makes it 5 years. Good you waited since 2019 you came back. Save some money and get a good Attorney. Gd Luck! -
Simple, if you are not up to 3 years in your marriage, wait for 5 years, then file N-400. issue of adultery is a no no as an excuse. Sure during ur interview they will ask you why did u divorce. Simply, it wasnt working out as u got tired of seeing him sleeping wt multiple women and that you cldnt continue with him wt such life. Good luck!

N-400 still processing after more than 2 years
Patrick Lee replied to xKun's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Hello, get an extension(I-551) on your passport or apply for I-94. This is your green card until you get ur citizenship. I waited for 2 years and 4 mths after writing several emails to USCIS and via my congress woman. All the feedbacks I got was the same messages of backlogs, overwhelmings, background check etc. I wrote them every 3 months and just this Sept, they reactivated my case and told me I have nothing more outstanding and that my case will be adjudicated in 7 mths (March 2025). It is really frustrating. Be patient and dont withdraw nor refile. Order of mandamus costs about $5000, you dont need to spend such. keep yourself busy with work and before u know it, its booooommmmmm! Good luck buddy! -
N400 Application AND GC Extension?
Patrick Lee replied to Leumas's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
GC once expired can always be regularized either with an extension on your passport(I-551) or I-94 sent to your mail box after you have applied. I made use of stamps on my passports. Good Luck! -
Naturalization after divorce?
Patrick Lee replied to questionstoday's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Yes, it has a red flag bro but not a death sentence. Your moving to another city without her cld raise a question hence her refusal to move with you which caused the divorce. Obviously you got ur GC tru her, an American citizen I guess. Now u got ur GC and wanna dump her. that's the red flag USCIS will raise. I wonder who advised you for this divorce at this stage. Cld have waited till u get ur citizenship while still with her, just a little less than one year more. If you have the strong mind to continue your filing of N400, Good luck, or you have to wait additional one year to make it mandatory 5 years, then you can file alone as a divorced GC holder. If in a fix, an Attorney may help! This is ur last stage and u need nothing to spoil it. Good luck! -
Expedite Oath Ceremony - Emergency
Patrick Lee replied to Mannydude22's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Nothing like expedited oath ceremony. Travel with ur green card simple, but might miss a scheduled date while you are out. Alternatively, she can send money home for mom's treatment rather than going home at this crucial time. If u miss a date, it might take long getting rescheduled. Tnx -
N-400 and arrested 15 years ago
Patrick Lee replied to Brorick's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Well, you never mentioned this your country of origin. Don't know why. But I don't think any criminal case in ur home country has any effect or correlation here in US. Think very well bro. Look before you leap, or at worst case scenario consult an Attorney. -
Hello, no one trusts these people when they give you a date. I was scheduled for my N400 interview which was also a combo, on December 6, 2022. I passed the interview but was told because my I751 was pending I would be called up in next three months(March 2023) for my oath taking. Since Dec 2022 till date am still waiting. I was totally forgotten. It was this past September they just sent me an email that my case of N400 is now active and being worked upon, and that I should expect adjudication in the next 7 months. Imagine how frustrating this cld be. I have been patiently waiting. Tell your wife not to put her mind in it, otherwise she might be depressed. Let her focus on whatever job she is doing. It will surely when she least expects it. Pray hard too. Good luck!

Be patient and dont be in a hurry to spoil your deal. She will be due for N400 in 2026. Let her be busy with her job, before u know it, it is here. Good luck to u both.

Hey dude, dont be in a hurry and spoil your show. You cant jump from one to four. Step by step makes the deal for you. You cant jump over removal of conditions of residence( 2 year green card) to N400. File 90 days before the expiration of your 2 years G.C. You will get your 10 years first. Then afterwards, you can file your N400. Hope this helps.

Congrats dude, how long did the whole process take you? I got my green card 2015, filed for I751 2018. I didnt hear anything till 2021 when I filed for N400 via my attorney. called for Naturalization interview Dec 2022. Passed the interview but was hung up for i751 which is still pending. I kept on contacting USCIS. On Sept 11, 2024 they activated my case which reads, " Case Status Online Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS As of September 11, 2024, we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOExxxxxxxx. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. This is where I am currently. Who knows when am likely to be called up, or when my case is likely to come to an end? Tnx.

Guy, dont look at money. It pays you to get what you want than loosing again which is worse. If am you I would hire an attorney. This is the most crucial period. If you do it again by yourself, You might fail, thus starting all over afresh. Kudos.

The different story line for different people. I think I have been the most patient applicant here. I got divorced January 2016 from my wife a US citizen. Filed a waiver tru my attorney for removal of condition. Since 2017 till date my I751 is not approved. My attorney went ahead I filed N400 for me. I was called up for Citizenship interview on Dec 6, 2022. passed the interview but was given a paper which states that I751 is still pending(a decision cannot yet be made about your application). December 2024 will make it one year I went for this interview, still no news. I have written severally to USCIS, likewise my Senator , and all they keep saying is: "As a part of a greater eligibility determination, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts background and security checks on applicants and certain petitioners for immigration benefits. These checks are necessary to ensure United States national security and public safety interests. In some cases, the results of these checks require USCIS to perform additional inquiries or consult with other government agencies. When this is necessary, there is often some delay in resolving the checks, and it is difficult to predict when resolution will be completed. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner while also ensuring public safety, national security, and compliance with all relevant directives. While the processing steps for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved issues that may result in adjudication delays. Please be assured that this case has not been overlooked. Once all checks are resolved, the Application will be adjudicated, and your constituent will be notified of the decision" Just wanted to share my case here as an insight. Any suggestion on whats next is appreciated. Patrick.
