you should create timeline and ID the country for best answers u applied for a spouse visa in January and could be denied a tourist visa if assumes he will come and adjust to stay depends very much on his home country

any of the CO's could look at your additional info and process the petition Would u want to depend on 1 particular CO who could be on vacation or maternity leave (i say that as the 1 CO that interviewed Adil for K1 was very pregnant) NOPE, u want it handled by anyone in the embassy that is qualified to proceed with the petition and i suspect all 221g's request need to final approval from the supervisor

Immigration knowledge is addictive

Even K1 was faster spent all of June 2009 with Adil in Moroc fiilled out the I 129 in moroc and filed as July 1 as soon as i could / even the post office mail was faster as my pd was the 6th He interviewed in November/ little less than 6 months now the mail is slow as they check all and immigration came to a slow walk -
Then go for it happy to sign one that i agree on the one thing i would change is Joint sponsorship/get rid of it and only approve visa if USC petitioner can afford the immigrant and themself with the income set so low, $18,310 for 2 for K1 ,, and joint sponsor is not required to support the immigrant, to me there is just no way 2 people can live on that especially in NYC or Miami if u read VJ the requirements are different for embassies /don't like that either /if i have to prove multiple visits to have a visa approved,, everyone in every country should

there's a lot of valuable info on this site i find it additive to read even if i can't sign in I will probably need answers in 10+ years as we applied for a brother i think the best answers to OP's are read and research and know the steps , cost, income requirements and timeframes -
You need to keep track of monthly visa bulletin to see when your final action date is available https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-april-2023.html Currently its Family- Sponsored All Chargeability Areas Except Those Listed CHINA-mainland born INDIA MEXICO PHILIPPINES F1 01DEC14 01DEC14 01DEC14 01APR01 01MAR12 F2A 08SEP20 08SEP20 08SEP20 01NOV18 08SEP20 F2B 22SEP15 22SEP15 22SEP15 01JUN01 22OCT11 F3 22NOV08 22NOV08 22NOV08 01NOV97 08JUN02 F4 22MAR07 22MAR07 15SEP05 01AUG00 22AUG02

i stay and help a few from Moroc but it gets me when one of them say " read something on Facebook" or tell a long time member they are wrong or they don't post a timeline and sometimes its hard to get all the pertinent info from OP(s) i try to stay supportive but sometimes i would like to say "give it up" like one woman wrote to me (divorces 4 times and had done 2 others petiitons) and i was careful in wording but she got responses from others and just quit VJ people don't like the truth at times to me my son has been thru 38 surgeries and i have VJ to during surgeries, PT and dr appointments/it keeps me away from vetting about insurance companies and social security disability and medicare -
she will probably be in long AP just as this in Pakistan and ds 5535 can be given out for any country anytime but for the 3 countries she is associated with , its a high probability so maybe, maybe not

in all honesty if 100 of us got together to propose a petition to make Congress act on the problems, we would have 100 different ideas on what they should do the rules are transparent /they and any changes are posted online in the Federal Registry One thing that does bother me is CO's are suppose to treat people with respect at an interview and they often don't

Coming from one VJ member that went thru a 6 year process i can honestly say it seems unfair but then reading about all kinds of schemes from fake colleges doing student visas and dating scams to get people here plus 9/11, human trafficing, it is no wonder this process is long it is meant to protect both the USC and the alien And fees will change /they are set to change soon $1225 for AOS to $2820 And if u can get Congress to do anything, i will give u a lot of credit i write to my repres all the time and i get the monthly bulletins from their office to check on what is important to each one and what they vote on

Actually they use to use state offices the intending immigrant would come to US and be interviewed here (to see if they could stay) but that bought in many who didn't qualify to stay and disappeared in the illegal community of which we now have over 11 million and with the 1st attack on the world trade center with a bomb it was evident that we needed stronger security checks in the immigrants home country(s)

How to file I-864 in my case?
JeanneAdil replied to kjsmith91's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
if u worked outside the US as a USC u r required to file taxes bring up a 1040 form on IRS site and follow instructions file the form 2555 to exclude foreign earned income for the yearly amounts (this amount changes each year ) For tax year2022, the maximum exclusion is $112,000 per person -
keep track of final action dates on the monthly visa bulletin to see when a visa is available for u are they limit the # of visas for this category https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-april-2023.html At present they work on 2008 F2A 08SEP20
