  1. Things to consider 1. Do parents speak English at all or is there a community of same nation persons that will aid them to adapt? 2. can either parent work to help with household and health care insurance? 3. cost of health care insurance if u have to pay out for this? 4. any major illness or medicine they need that is costly in the US? u can see prices for meds online add prescritions are a whole other cost not covered under health care insurance 5. HOmesickness as they need to spend the majority of every year in the US/ will the cost of flying them out and in for home visits hurt your finances? 6. cell phones and cell plans for all? 7. Both sets of parents? may mean a bigger house? what we experienced: MIL came for tourist visa to see how she would like it homesick within 2 months she didn't bring enough diabetes medicine and we took her 2 hours to Atlanta to Arabic dr as she would not let others do blood work her diabetes medicine was just under $500 for 30 day supply and another was 120 for a month no friends here and she spent all her days talking to home as other sons and grandchildren were there. asked her "do u want us to file to bring u back to live here? definite she had stomach issues which turned out to be appendicitis when she went home and cost of surgery there was $1000 which here would have been seriously costly We talked about bringing MIL to live here but with her homesickness and other issues , its was cheaper for us to buy a nicer apartment in Casablanca which is what she wanted Good luck with any decision u make
  2. DV lottery allows for spouse and children as derivates page 11 #12 12.   May my spouse and I each submit a separate entry? Yes, each spouse may each submit one entry if each meets the eligibility requirements.  If either spouse is selected, the other is entitled to apply as a derivative dependent. Failure to list your eligible spouse or, listing someone who is not your spouse, will make you ineligible as the DV principal applicant and your spouse and children ineligible as DV derivative applicants https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Diversity-Visa/DV-Instructions-Translations/DV-2024-Instructions-Translations/DV-2024-Instructions.pdf
  3. Interview date doesn't tell u when oath ceremony will be Same day-maybe but many with combo interview have had to wait for the I 751 to be approved before naturalization is approved u r really in limbo as if u take the oath, u turn in green card and possible will not have US passport in time
  4. read thru the 130 instructions before u proceed to fill out the form the following site is the form itself, u can print it out , fill it out by hand and have it in front of u while doing it online keep a copy for your records as u will fill out dates and information that u may need to refer to later in the process https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-130.pdf and do not make the mistake many make by filling out 60b and 61a and 61 b/that would be a costly mistake (over $500 to correct) those questions are for immigrants already in the US /u will interview in Nigeria not in a US office
  5. Also add the new proposed fee for adjusting status once married in USA is suppose to go up from $1225 to $2820 when u do a K1
  6. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/study/exchange.html#:~:text=The%20J%2D1%20exchange%20visitor,certain%20international%20cultural%20exchange%20programs. Can J-1 be converted to green card? The I-130 Form, also known as the Petition for Alien Relitive form, must be filed by your spouse, who introduces you as their direct relative. This form is necessary to transfer your J1 visa to Green Card to obtain permanent residency status.Dec 21, 2022 Since immiratigration says J1 can be converted by marriage, why wouldn't your spouse know
  7. not all will be fine the CO can terminate the student visa /all is up to CBP and its up to u but i wouldn't try to cross with K1 in the computer system
  8. Many countries are corrupt/ u need to understand and be prepared and not loose your composure (that is to the Moroccan) as the dr and embassy CO have the power Can a dr fail the Moroccan for the medical? yes, if there is any indication of present or past use of marijuana, any communicable illness, spot on lungs that could be TB/ not because the dr is corrupt or u think he is or rude as he has to show (have the proof ) of what he turns into the embassy Whether approved or not, please write up an embassy review when u r sure of the outcome of this K1
  9. no, it will not unless a person lies to immigration/ CBP or is caught with contraband, the K1 stands on its own merit /good proofs and lots of time spent together and u will have that if u will be with here till visa is approved. Just don't marry there as that would require a spouse or marry and do the spouse visa as it has benefits that k1 doesn't and , yes, a person can learn a lot of English in just 3 months / saw many a foreign student do it at Cornell, one man from India knew no English when he came. he was able to learn and graduate from Cornell
  10. Those of us going thru Moroc do understand when i presented my papers to a judge to marry , he said my IRS trranscript said single and i was widowed /i said to Adil , make him understand that single means living alone -not married now . Adil said judge wanted money 100 dh to approve and Adil would not pay it. so, back to translator to change the arabic IRS statement to widow. and then chasing him to 3 different cities to have him sign the marriage application, Same when someone is arrested/ no trial/ family collects as much money as possible to pay a judge for a lighter sentence. But to OP I know embassy said send passport and medical thru Aramex but that is for NO ISSUES WITH THE DR Dr can chose to send the medical /its his choice and u may be looking at K1 denial and need to marry and go spouse visa
  11. CBP can turn anyone away at any time A canadian or UE or other non fraud countries , it is easier for a person to visit but with K1 petition in the computer system, CBP can think she will marry here and adjust to stay 1. make sure fiancee has round trip ticket to cover the 3 months of study plus her travel days 2. Make sure she has proof of registration for the class 3. make sure when u go, your business has a US business # for tax purposes so u have a US income to satisfy the petition 4. make sure u file US tax returns when living in Kazakhstan
  12. Congratulations visa should say IR1 married 9/2020 10 year green card
  13. https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/stem-opt-hub/for-students/students-determining-stem-opt-extension-eligibility its under Department of homeland Security study in the states
  14. Never had heard a case was worked on by a team not even sure the same officer follows thru completely with the case /i don't see how 1 officer would when they have vacations or are out sick its more like when a document that has been requested comes in by mail or fax, an officer gets it in an inbox and they will enter the document to computer file that is a touch
  15. and no one can answer without knowing things u leave out that will affect scheduling an interview like if the USC is thinking he/she needs to be there for the interview and no, the USC , at most embassies ,is not allowed in and Judge???? how do u want this post answered? I googled the question in multiple ways trying to find an answer for u/ there is no info available that i could find no need for u to be rude i was trying to get info from u to best answer
  16. 1st touch is when the case is entered into computer so, yes , any case sent in and assigned a case # is touched
  17. never have to say sorry for a long post when it helps the VJ community know the circumstances to better answer your query the civil ceremony of signing the marriage document is all u need for the I 130 as soon as u receive it, get it translated into English and petition for the spouse visa
  18. if there is an open interview spot , take it In some embassies they fill up too fast i just don't understand that work would be more important than something u waited this long for
  19. if u read the 245 (i) it is for those adjusting under conditions like adjusting with I 130 as the person is already in the US like on a work visa, etc
  20. https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-eligibility/green-card-through-ina-245i-adjustment#:~:text=In%201994%2C%20Congress%20enacted%20section,without%20leaving%20the%20United%20States. do these apply to u?
  21. you can but why not apply for SS# as time is limited, marry and fly to Hawaii for your honeymoon BLess u bothe
  22. looking at all this from viewpoint of 12/13 year old (i was one once) and parent of kids that age the mother could have said yes then as i remember it the worse years for both almost teen and mother of 1 kid tries to do something and gets told "you are too big for that, you're not a baby anymore" OR you're to young for that , you're not old enough Try standby guardian in UK/u don't have to go to court for this
  23. the visa for him will take about 18 months /u have time and if u talk to ex about this 5 years ago, now its getting close to graduation i can't imagine any mother that would not want to be a part of this
  24. Parent could change her mind (even at the last Minute) Court order would be a good idea even if u don't think u need it
