  1. Yes, there are many jobs, for instance, that are not open to LPR but are only for USC and u need to update at SS before or after US passport / no special order
  2. OP it would be impossible to send wedding plans with the petition when u have no idea of the visa approval and when the immigrant could be in the USA so its not part of what u need engagement party ? in some embassies this has been mistaken for a wedding ceremony and visa denied as "to married for a K1" so no, its not needed plus some countries do not have engagement parties in Moroc it would be the man and his family visiting the woman's family to ask for marriage , show his assets and this would be impossible for many men to have a tourist visa to do this / that is a formal engagement in Moroc the "intent to married statements" and photos of the 2 of u with petition is what u need only when there are red flag issues with a relationship will an embassy look for commingling of finances for a CR1
  3. when a person gets a visa , they are given a phamlet which tells them 1. a man under age 26 must register with selective service 2. as LPR they can not vote or register to vote it describes rights and responsibities and everything from getting a SS # to finding a place to live to paying taxes to becoming a USC it should be read by or read to each person coming to live here https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-618.pdf

  14. Many are getting bogus letters causing a great deal of anxiety i think it is new and poorly trained staff following covid and loss of many USICS staff officers and u would not get a letter with the oath date/ that will come in the mail or email with instructions to fill out the questions on back side at the oath here is the oath schedule for San Diego thru September of 2023 https://www.cacd.uscourts.gov/clerk-services/naturalization-ceremony-locations-and-schedule
  15. I agree u seem to have no information and need help you asked about filing I 130 and i told u about one question on the 60 b and 61 a that cause a lot of issues for those who answer wrong USC has to sign the I 130 and is legally responsible for all information on the form u don't need any mistakes Have u read the instruction or looked at the form(s) ? this is important instuctions: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-130instr.pdf the form itself , print it out and look at before filing online https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-130.pdf USCIS steps for a spouse visa https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/immigrant-visa-for-spouse.html If u r not willing to pull up these 3 and read thru them , u need a US immigration attorney not a Nigerian service that u pay to do this as they make errors good luck
  16. yes , MFS is higher bracket as you loose $12, 950 for not adding spouse do the MFJ get the $25,900 deduction as u are filing late and at this point it will take a long time for your returns to be done no matter what u file do the W7, get the ITIN ./i had it the 5 years we waited for the visa
  17. Things to consider 1. Do parents speak English at all or is there a community of same nation persons that will aid them to adapt? 2. can either parent work to help with household and health care insurance? 3. cost of health care insurance if u have to pay out for this? 4. any major illness or medicine they need that is costly in the US? u can see prices for meds online add prescritions are a whole other cost not covered under health care insurance 5. HOmesickness as they need to spend the majority of every year in the US/ will the cost of flying them out and in for home visits hurt your finances? 6. cell phones and cell plans for all? 7. Both sets of parents? may mean a bigger house? what we experienced: MIL came for tourist visa to see how she would like it homesick within 2 months she didn't bring enough diabetes medicine and we took her 2 hours to Atlanta to Arabic dr as she would not let others do blood work her diabetes medicine was just under $500 for 30 day supply and another was 120 for a month no friends here and she spent all her days talking to home as other sons and grandchildren were there. asked her "do u want us to file to bring u back to live here? definite she had stomach issues which turned out to be appendicitis when she went home and cost of surgery there was $1000 which here would have been seriously costly We talked about bringing MIL to live here but with her homesickness and other issues , its was cheaper for us to buy a nicer apartment in Casablanca which is what she wanted Good luck with any decision u make
  18. DV lottery allows for spouse and children as derivates page 11 #12 12.   May my spouse and I each submit a separate entry? Yes, each spouse may each submit one entry if each meets the eligibility requirements.  If either spouse is selected, the other is entitled to apply as a derivative dependent. Failure to list your eligible spouse or, listing someone who is not your spouse, will make you ineligible as the DV principal applicant and your spouse and children ineligible as DV derivative applicants https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Diversity-Visa/DV-Instructions-Translations/DV-2024-Instructions-Translations/DV-2024-Instructions.pdf
  19. Interview date doesn't tell u when oath ceremony will be Same day-maybe but many with combo interview have had to wait for the I 751 to be approved before naturalization is approved u r really in limbo as if u take the oath, u turn in green card and possible will not have US passport in time
  20. read thru the 130 instructions before u proceed to fill out the form the following site is the form itself, u can print it out , fill it out by hand and have it in front of u while doing it online keep a copy for your records as u will fill out dates and information that u may need to refer to later in the process https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-130.pdf and do not make the mistake many make by filling out 60b and 61a and 61 b/that would be a costly mistake (over $500 to correct) those questions are for immigrants already in the US /u will interview in Nigeria not in a US office
  21. Also add the new proposed fee for adjusting status once married in USA is suppose to go up from $1225 to $2820 when u do a K1
  22. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/study/exchange.html#:~:text=The%20J%2D1%20exchange%20visitor,certain%20international%20cultural%20exchange%20programs. Can J-1 be converted to green card? The I-130 Form, also known as the Petition for Alien Relitive form, must be filed by your spouse, who introduces you as their direct relative. This form is necessary to transfer your J1 visa to Green Card to obtain permanent residency status.Dec 21, 2022 Since immiratigration says J1 can be converted by marriage, why wouldn't your spouse know
