Just checked the US embassy Thai site posted by Dashinka another vote for CR1 as it is so much easier to marry there than what some others of us go thru to marry abroad no need for Utah zoom BTW CR1 is cheaper in the long run as immigration is intending to increase the AOS fee process in USA to $2820 from $1225 Best to all 3 of u and congratulations on the baby to come

Department of State says it is https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/immigrant-visa-for-spouse.html Is Residence in the U.S. Required for the U.S. Sponsor? Yes. As a U.S. sponsor/petitioner, you must maintain your principal residence (also called domicile) in the United States, which is where you plan to live for the foreseeable future. Living in the United States is required for a U.S. sponsor to file the Affidavit of Support, with few exceptions. To learn more, review the Affidavit of Support (I-864 or I-864EZ) Instructions.

when booking the flight make sure it is one ticket with layovers ONLY with a valid US visa most layovers do not require transit visa but if your itinerary says flight to (say france) and then pick up ticket from Paris to US , u need french transit visa otherwise all boarding passes given at place of departure are needed BTW some Canadian international ports do US customs and immigration (Toronto and Montreal do) -
if both parties agree to see social services and go before family court , it is recognized for support (only) he can not force the man to do CBRA BUT he may suggest it From Office of US Department of Health and Human Services https://www.acf.hhs.gov/css/faq/frequently-asked-questions-about-international-cases Citizenship and Residency Expand All Q1. Do I need to be a U.S. citizen to request help from the U.S. child support program? Collapse Citizenship is not required for a person to apply for child support services. Q2. Do I need to live in the U.S. to request help from the U.S. child support program? Collapse Residency is not required for a person to apply for child support services. However, if you live outside the U.S., state law in the U.S. state you apply to will determine the help that the state can provide. (See FAQs under When the Custodial Parent Lives Outside the U.S.)

How to get a visa for my husbands sister to visit ?
JeanneAdil replied to MrsAb2021's topic in Tourist Visas
In many of these cases, the LPR has already introduced the sister (or brother ) to a possible mate in the US marrying someone here allows the person to AOS and Casa embassy has been known to check cell for correspondence that could indicate that intent True , she can't AOS from LPR but a possible US husband , she could -
Not a fan of dead beat fathers (or mothers) but i would demand DNA and not pay her plane fare or motel room or let her stay with me and only trust the US family court system to handle the issue worrying what might happen 20 years from now? so, what if this child becomes a USC and wants to petition for mom he would need US residency and US income/ chances ????? Certainly by then the man's obligations would be over

Gonna pretend to be in his shoes now 1st i would consult an attorney and heed his advise 2nd I would call her bluff and say "Get a B1/B2 visa for the baby and bring him to US and I will contact family court to get this settled Ask family court for a DNA on man and child Kicker is: if his name is not on the birth certificate OR another man is on it OR it is altered in any way to have his name , no tourist visa would be issued to the child or without father's permission, If she tries to bring child with just her tourist visa , airport security will want to see child's birth certificate as shown on youtube, permission of the other parent is needed /many South American countries show airport security closely checking status of adult and child traveling alone the above can be a stopper if he isn't the father and even if she doesn't list one if she can come, schedule family court appointment in the county and do the DNA a judge wants proof of income for both parties to establish support and she needs to be prepared to show all monetary income and possibly medical expenses of the child No way can she touch your personal property but if support is ordered and not paid , then an attachment can be made of income /again , this would be another trip on her part to go to court and file a complaint for unpaid child support $1000 to $2000 in South America??? way out of line

According to the Department it says 5 times https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/i-864-affidavit-faqs.html#:~:text=The net value of assets, guideline for the household size. How can a sponsor use assets to meet the minimum Federal Poverty Guidelines? If a sponsor's income does not meet the minimum Federal Poverty Guidelines, he or she can submit the value of assets to make up the difference unless the sponsor is submitting a Form I-864EZ. When looking at income levels, the consular officer will look at the sponsor's employment income first. Personal assets and/or the income and assets of household members who have signed an I-864A are totaled next. If the sponsor is using assets to meet the minimum Federal Poverty Guidelines, they must upload a scanned copy of documentation of those assets into CEAC. What cash value of assets is needed? The total net value of assets, less liens and liabilities against them, must equal five times the difference between the sponsor's income and 125% of the poverty level for the household size.
