  1. This all depends on where the ship will stop and if cruise is "closed loop" Although the following is true Legal U.S. Residents (Non-Citizens) Legal permanent residents of the U.S. must have a valid passport from their country of citizenship and a valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card) to enter or re-enter the U.S. But If ship will dock (say at Aruba which is Dutch) a Chinese citizen would need a tourist visa so it matters where the ship, itself , is going. If the person needs a tourist visa and does not have one, the ship can not let him board, Even is a person is a naturalized citizen some countires require a tourist visa to travel there example: born in Cuba -needs visa for Brazil even with a US passport
  2. You have a pending CR1 so u have immigrant intent Any CO would assume u intent to stay in the US and AOS from here /therefore deny a tourist visa IF by any chance, it was approved, CBP would more-than-likely not allow entry into US as the system would show a CR1 Please fill out a timeline as its so important for all of u going thru the same embassy
  3. we had 3 different petitions a lot of questions for the 2 that were denied for the approved final one the man only asked 3 questions Interview was quick and visa was issued within a week
  4. How old is this child? before 1993 there was poor record keeping but since then not so as all births are recorded by NPC . For people born before 1993; you'll only be able to get an Attestation of Birth + Affidavit (2 complimentary documents), as a Birth Certificate cannot be issued for people born before the formation of the NPC. Nigerian birth certificates (and copies) have in upper right corner , the month, year and entry # where the record is (this doesn't change) Center is parents names and DOB at bottom left is the area born and actual date of record (not changed if a copy) the only date that would be different would be the stamp date when u got a new copy Unfortunately the following is a statement of what u face in Nigeria All indications are that the use of false travel documents, birth certificates and other documents is increasing
  5. Yes, ours was for the one when they intended to issue visa The packet and documents have been seen and reviewed
  6. They prefer seeing copies (do not send originals at this point) of real life meeting a few photos together boarding passes to show the visit(s) A few messages from start and a few to show continue chats (it seems chats have only been important when a CO suspects a timeframe of 1st meeting online) 1 page letter to say how u met and in - person meeting and listing of any additional visits Best to say what country because each embassy has special needs like ours would be a photo of USC and moroccan mother to show an approval of family
  7. I am truly sorry he has hurt you I am sure your family is saying "u r lucky to find out before he took u for everything and ran u into debt" U will get a lot of advice from family and friends /much of it will conflict / only when u find out u don't want to hear this will u understand u r finally able to handle things on your own Don't let someone who isn't worth your love make u forget how much u r worth God bless u OP if u saw any red flags when u and he were together, share them with others U said he expected u to wait on him hand and foot / In his home did the women do this? Did he expect u to buy everything for him? Or did u offer? Did he need money sent while he was in his country ? when u chatted was all the talk about immigration and his visa and when would it happen? Did he cut the chats short as he had things to do? Did u know if he used a fake ID for web sites? How many dating sites did he use? Many embassies put out a list of warnings about international marriages but there are things we see / hear when talking to someone that just make us wonder DOS red flags aren't the ones we see but i think, sincerely , that the COs in many embassies have a pretty good idea as they see the cutture and they know if the person has a job and /or education to get one They just see the person with experience and the head ruling as the heart is not in control
  8. That's how the DS 160 is paid for the tourist visa Email them and make the confirm its K1 because embassy post says pay it there
  9. For the new baby, u have lived outside the US for 7 years so do not qualify for CBRA based on the following" so need to also file I 130 for the baby The U.S. citizen transmitting parent must satisfy physical presence requirements. Most cases require five years of physical presence inside the United States or its outlying possessions before the child is born, https://ec.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/consular-report-birth-abroad-crba/#:~:text=The child has to be,over 18%2C please contact us. Assets have to be liquidable within a year if needed so best to bring up I 864 instructions and read them to understand
  10. US embassy should follow US laws and same sex marriages are legal BUT remember CO's also consider cultural norms Examples for ours was that a Moroccan man would not marry an older Moroccan woman or a widow and i was older and a widow Hope u get an American interviewer More than likely u will be asked what your family thinks of the relationship / this question is very normal for our countries even if a straight couple as its important for the family to approve Best to Know your fiancee really good to answer all questions honestly To not volunteer any info the CO does not ask for Be confident in yourself Bring photos to show your family has met him The best life to the 2 of u
  11. Talk to your Service point of contact Call Military OneSource at 1-800-342-9647 they should be able to help from the site below info Our prayers for u For EFMP help https://www.tricare-overseas.com/beneficiaries/plans-and-programs/special-programs/exceptional-family-member-program
  12. How did u pay for ds160 ? it is paid at interview of K1 according to embassy instructions $265 paid in cash at the Consulate, in either U.S. Dollars or the equivalent in Moroccan Dirhams. Confirmation page of DS-160 submission https://ma.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/ the ds 160 for tourist visa is paid at bank but not for K1 interview.
  13. while u were in interview, i am sure CO was tryping and it was easy for that person to look up info on Harvard site and see that Harvard Kennedy School was offiering a lunch hosted by Anne Boustead on cyber encryption on the 8th of November as follows Lunch Seminar featuring Anne Boustead, Assistant Professor at the School of Government and Public Policy at the University of Arizona. In a talk entitled, "Measuring Encryption," Boustead will explore some of the legal and policy issues that could be informed by additional data on encounters with encrypted devices in the criminal justice system. But Harvard U only has a course from the 7th to the 18th full days U were not able to explain your intent to attend with sufficient proof as this lecture is 1st come 1st served
  14. Stipends may be considered income in terms of withholding taxes—the distinction between them boils down to how they're classified. Like other forms of compensation, they're subject to Social Security and Medicare taxes unless they meet specific exceptions outlined in IRS Publication 15-B.Aug 3, 2023
  15. u can try but chances are slim as u have a CR1 and that shows immigrant intent Please fill out your timeline nd ID the country u will have questions for the CR1 and NIgeria can be a hard embassy so u may need help u can post on the African forum and those with experience in Lagos can see it on NIgeria portal and help
  16. 17. https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-increases-employment-authorization-document-validity-period-for-certain-categories Release Date 09/27/2023 We are updating guidance in the Policy Manual to increase the maximum validity period to 5 years for initial and renewal Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) for certain noncitizens who are employment authorized incident to status or circumstance, including those admitted as refugees, paroled as refugees, and granted asylum, as well as recipients of withholding of removal. What is does not say is that the wait time for ROC will be faster So, it helps the illegals but those who pay and go thru this legally can naturalize and don't need 5 year EAD
  18. take some If u do, they will not be looked at but noted that in Lagos that u bought them if u don't take them, the CO will ask for them as additional evidence This type of evidence has little value unlike the post above mentions but asking for it can cause a delay in decision to encourage someone to give up
  19. he needs to report this physcian to the embassy and in an email, ask them what to do it will take time to get a response but embassy can wave the covid if he agrees to take vaccine in the US
