  1. Biometrics will be done at the embassy interview just attend interview as scheduled and ask about this it could be that his name is so familiar in India and was used for person
  2. USC gets the emails including when the interview is scheduled for the spouse visa
  3. My attorney explained this part to me he said if i worked 40 quarters after the moroccan arrived , they counted (and it could have been part time/just SS benefits needed to be recorded for each quarter the work of a spouse or parent adds qualifying quarters. it is included on page 13 of the I 864
  4. 3 senerios come to mind 1. big case of homesickness but that is no reason to not contribute to life in the US 2. he wanted to come to US and used your love to do it with no intention to make u happy/it was all about him and a US visa 3. He is completely dependent on u and he resents it. How will u know if the 2nd one is the case? Return to chats between the 2 of u/ did he always want to talk about visa and immigration issues and not romance? there are clues/ did u ever have feelings about him that should have served as a warning. there are too many Moroccans who want to get out of Moroc at any cost. If a Moroccan says "there are no jobs here" it means they don't have a high paying job as they often quit school so did he work when u met ? MY Adil always had a job and was supporting 11 family members and 2 houses Was he always on the cell when u were with him in Moroc? Is he looking for work here or letting u pay for the cell? Providing cell coverage is not an essential basic need. u are free to tell him "if u want to keep the cell coverage, get a job and pay for it" We must have food, water, air, and shelter to survive. If any one of these basic needs is not met, then humans cannot survive. Do yourself a favor and find something he really wants like to own a car, etc. let him know the total cost and tell him , he can have one but he has to work for it. BTW if he came on spouse visa or u did AOS (K1) and has the green card, he can divorce and do his own ROC and yes, you are responsible for the I 864 till he works 40 quarters or becomes a USC yeah, it is hard to leave all u know and move to another country but u have to set some standards now usually love will make 2 people compromise and rules don't need to be set and u can bring that up Tell him a marriage counselor is needed. if u can't discuss it here, u do need someone to talk to I gotta say that in the beginning (2 or 3 years) Adil was on the cell talking to family/friends most of the time it changed because lives changed on both sides/ friends married and others things happened . he kinda lost touch with many
  5. lawyer is wrong you are responsible for the I 864 for 10 years page 13 of the I 864 instrucitons https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864instr.pdf How Long Does My Obligation as a Sponsor Continue? Your obligation to support the immigrants you are sponsoring in this Affidavit of Support will continue until the sponsored immigrant becomes a U.S. citizen, or can be credited with 40 qualifying quarters of work in the United States. Although 40 qualifying quarters of work (credits) generally equates to 10 years of work, in certain cases the work of a spouse or parent adds qualifying quarters. The Social Security Administration can provide information on how to count qualifying quarters (credits) of work. The obligation also ends if you or the sponsored immigrant dies or if the sponsored immigrant ceases to be a lawful permanent resident. Divorce does not end the sponsorship obligation. And what can police do? they do have access to computers and Interpol they do respect another country's arrest warrant they hold the person while the country gets extradition order
  6. Agree, u (or your lawyer ) can find out for sure if there is a warrant , phone your police (after u file the divorce papers)
  7. One Finn to another Finn you can handle this SISU the embassy should have given u The REAL welcome phamphlet for LPR if u didn't get one , it may be a good idea to read your rights and responsibilities https://www.google.com/search?q=rights+and+responsibilities+for+lpr&rlz=1C1JPGB_enUS833US833&oq=&aqs=chrome.0.69i59i450l8.31628371j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 have u gone thru the steps to get the green card (AOS process) if not follow the USCIS guides and do it ASAP as you are out of status https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-eligibility/green-card-for-fiancee-of-us-citizen
  8. Fiance or wife you say both Renew what visa? with an arrest warrant out for her and posted on interpol, how does she expect visa to be renewed ? i would file divorce papers before she leaves the US and then buy her a 1 way ticket home
  9. if she will not support the ROC and u need a waiver, u must go thru the divorce process and have the necessary divorce papers u love her but abusers do not change
  10. relax, no DOS officer will haunt your home in the dead of the night to see who sleeps where/and no officer is going to ask who sleeps where at this stage of your journey/ it is something that might have been asked at spouse interview at embassy but now, no. there isn't a rule from immigration that states married people have to sleep together snoring, Sleep apnea , just tossing and turning or other accident or illness can force couples to sleep in separate beds or separate rooms
  11. things might have speed up but some take longer if u are in the "slow grocery line , expect the clerk to be slow" u have the answer
  12. who filed the case? Are u petitioner or beneficary? usually only the USC can ask for an expedite
  13. From now on USCIS will have no info on the case as its on the way to NVC in about 2 months + or - , NVC will email the new embassy coded case # with instructions to pay the 2 fees and complete the I 864 and ds 260 to follow the case thereafter , u can log into https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.asp
  14. and please do a timeline and use moroccan flag so the post is kept in Morocco portal
  15. Btw Us bragging does not help your situation so, do not hesitate here to post and ask for help on any issue
  16. there are quite a few of us i believe Beth & Achraf are also happy in their marriage 3 other men are from my husbands home town and married over 10 years and all 3 are USC's adil came 9/5/2015 on IR1 had a job by November /has always worked and puts in as much overtime as he can to help mother back in Morocco married now 14 years this March When he became a USC , he took me for our anniversary to Paris biggest issue "i don't cook like a Moroccan" I try but i don't do the spices right so he cooks a lot which is in my favor although he says " he doesn't celebrate christmas" i get a big ticket item from him sometime between thanksgiving and Christmas when i fell head first down 9 stairs breaking both wrists and also going thru surgery on both shoulders, adil took care of everything including the very basic issues like washing my hair, all the cooking , cleaning ,grocery shopping, etc Now, in all seriousness "what are you going thru?" many spouses here go thru hard adjustments like serious homesickness the community is willing to read what u write and give some pretty good advice everything is discussed here and most are not quick to judge he won't work or help around the house? will he go to marriage counseling? that would be a hard thing for most Moroccan men as its not normal for them to share their private life some marriages just don't work out and Morocco has its share of "those who will do anything to get out of Moroc" to me when its good, its real good and when its bad, its real bad and there is no in between
  17. seems K1 and spouse visa interviews are lost in the Casa system last reports (stats) November 2023 show 2121 B1/B2 approved visas /that's 70 interviews a day just for tourist visa only 18 K1 approved with 39 Cr1 134 dv and 74 IR1 this certainly is a concern as family reunification is suppose to be the priority /tourist visa (although usually for parents to visit ) should be put on the sideline https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html
  18. first the child is a CR2/IR2 visa but the process is the same AOS (as in k1 is not the same) as CR1 ADjustment of status is not done for spouse or child with CR1 we do a affidavit of support at NVC stage /I 864 for each petition and the process is the same (same documents /same evidence of income) depending on age the only difference would be an infant /small child may not need criminal report the important thing now is to get it done ASAP before the fees go up for the petitions /u will not be able to avoid the new NVC fee increases
  19. so far the changes reflect the I 129 f for worker and preminum processing according to USICS and the federal registry https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-inflation-adjustment-to-premium-processing-fees https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/12/28/2023-28529/adjustment-to-premium-processing-fees the fees schedule for other classes is to be ruled on in April so u may be able to AOS before those fees go up /praying for u This fee increases are over a year in process Expect the increase that was proposed in Federal registry 1/4/2023 to be announced in the late spring as approved as only 8000+/_ responded with comments pro and con (out of the over 9 million who petition each year ) reguarding the proposed changes to the january 2023 federal registry https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/01/04/2022-27066/us-citizenship-and-immigration-services-fee-schedule-and-changes-to-certain-other-immigratio
  20. At this time interviews do not happen in Russia so the English translations are needed for any US embassy they go to US embassy employees need to know English but don't expect someone at the embassy where the interviews will be held to know russian
  21. You can not work even remotely on the K1 How does USCIS know? u have to file US taxes on income earned in the US and not filing is a IRS problem you don't need issues with either IRS or USCIS
  22. You reached out to Senator. did you sign a release form for Senator to contact embassy? BTW Senator can not do anything except relate to u the last info u received which will say "case forwarded to embassy" Silly question i know but have u checked spam or junk mail? Casa phone times below: Monday - Friday from 8:00 - 17:00 NOTE: ******** Due to work volume, phone inquiries to our staff in Casablanca will be accepted Tuesday and Thursday between 2 pm and 4 pm at (+212) 0522-26-45-50 for all immigrant visa questions. Staff in Casablanca can speak with you in English, French, or Arabic. Ext 4101 for immigrant visa department tues and Thursday meantime Originals of the following are needed USC complete those 2023 tax returns, u may be scheduled after April 15th (need copy of them and any W2's) complete the I 134 which is needed for the interview Copy (only) of US residency like state ID or DL Moroccan get the 2 criminal reports done and have them translated into English (both original and English are needed) Police certificate (fiche anthropometrique) and English translation Court record (casier judiciare) and English translation check the following for all other documents needed for the interview https://ma.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/ Saying all this because many do not take all the documents and are put in AP (refused by CEAC site) till embassy receives and reviews (and this takes forever) allah yekbel it also says no interviews during Us and Moroccan holidays but they do interview during Ramadan
  23. Coming into Chicago , Adil did not have to pick up his luggage and take it to customs and immigration and recheck it in the luggage was sent all the way to Nashville from Morocco when flying back to US from Ecuador and landing in Miami also i didn't have to pick up bags and recheck them when coming from Peru to us thru Fort Lauderdale, i had to get bags and have them with me to be xrayed and then they were rechecked seems each airport has its own procedures
  24. I would say no as with any airport it takes at least 20 minutes to taxi in and for customs at IAD ,collect luggage at baggage claim and go thru customs She needs more time At IAD Passengers connecting to another flight will need to re-check their luggage and go through screening by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) https://www.flydulles.com/travel-information/international-arrivals
