  1. Sorry I was not sure where to post this.

Angry with the important pdf forms that do not let you save your information? (Why would they do this anyway?) Accidentally I just discovered that when I used the foxit pdf reader I was able to save my information.

YMMV and other restrictions apply ;)

    Hope this helps someone!

    Cheers

Thanks I have just downloaded it and it appears to work. This will really help me!

Works great. thank you for the information

  2. Hello,

My I-129F is approved from here and now I need to send documents for Islamabad conuslate but donot know if they need I-134 or I-864. I read from VJ that we should start collecting them ahead of time, so anybody in the K3 process can assist me with anything?

    Thanks,

    Data Sheet

    You should atleast have these:

A.Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits, identifying the following details regarding your account:

    1. Date account opened;2. Total amount deposited for the past year;3. Present balance.

B.Statement of your employer on business stationery, revealing:

    1. Date and nature of employment;2. Salary paid;3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

    C. If self-employed:

    1. Copy of last income tax return filed; or2. Report of commercial rating concern.

    D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

E.Last three years of Copy of income tax return filed

Since it's the I-129f That means you/spouse are applying for a K visa which requires the form I-134.

*btw which city is you spouse in as I am waiting for my wife Interview letter from Islamabad too.

    Hello Khurram,

    A.O.A

My wife is from Gujranwala and I think hopefully she will get her packet in couple of weeks. I am in North Carolina.

We are having one issue with her CNIC card, her name was changed and we needed to get new card but NADRA has not issue yet so which mean we cannot get her passport and K3 process is well on its way. see what happens..

P.S did you have to send the past three years of income tax returns also?

    Data Sheet

    Walaikum salaam

Hopefully as soon as she gets the new cnic she can apply for the new urgent computrized pp in Pakistan and get it within a day.

Basically you have to at least send the copy of the last three returns or transcripts but I also sent, lat four paystubs, Bank letter, last year bank statement, 401k statement

Let me know if you have more questions

    More info

The I-134 is used for the K3 visa and handed over, if asked, at the interview. The I-864 is used for the CR or IR visa and is provided to NVC during the stateside part of the visa process. If your spouse arrives on a K3 visa, you will send an I-864 with your adjustment of status filing after US entry.

The Catch-22 with calling service centers for information is that unless you already know the answer, you may well ask the wrong question. The law does not allow acceptance of an I-864 for a K3. They can ask for an I-134 but other forms of "affidavit of support" may also be accepted, just NOT an I-864. They may not ask for anything at all but I advise a properly executed and notarized I-134 and three years of tax transcripts.

  6. Hello,

I'm wondering if anybody has had their petitions/applications rejected because of their photos, or was asked to submit another photo because the photos they have submitted weren't somehow good enough. If anyone has these experiences, please let me know and what (they said) was wrong with the photo. Thank you!

I actually got me photos taken in Pakistan (ofcourse they were full-frontal/passport photos.) and submitted those with my petition and received no RFE or objections.

  7. I have a fiance in the philippines. We are filing for K-1. I have 2 children that aren't listed as dependents on my tax returns. I also have a small business. In addition i have gotten a part time job recently. My adjusted gross income for 2005 was only 11,000us my unadjusted was 29,000 big discrepency due to startup expenses. It is much higher in 2006. My ex wife owes me 50,000 from equity in our house. I have documentation of this. I have money in a 401k as well.

What is the best way to file all this in i-134? Can i use the 401k or the owed money? Do i have to list my kids as partial dependents on the form?

    Thanks

    hello there,

Whats the different between form I-186A and from I-134 for affidavit of support??I was a little bit confused??Please enlightened my mind.

The I-134 is used for all K visas and handed over, if asked, at the interview. The I-864 is used for the CR or IR visa and is provided to NVC during the stateside part of the visa process. If your spouse/fiance arrives on a K visa, you will send an I-864 with your adjustment of status filing after US entry.

  8. We are going to send the AOS and EAD at the same time - so that's good to know. I read the guidelines which say they can be sent together, but when I printed out the directions from the USCIS website it said to send the EAD to TX.

I just wanted to verify

He's my fiance because we're not married yet (see my signature).

    Thanks!

If they are being filed together they will go to the chicago lockbox

At the same time as filing for AOS. As a K-1 holder filing for Adjustment of Status (AOS) you are eligible to file for an EAD at the same time. Your EAD packet can be filing along with your AOS packet and mailed together. You will file as category ©(9), "adjustment applicant". (Where to file: mail only - with AOS packet)

  9. The update 'date' on the USCIS page will indicated when it was updated, and what has been done to it. Everytime when it's updated, there's a touch. However, sometimes it is also touched and something was done to it.

Make sure you're not checking the processing times of the service center. If you still are lost, you need to register your application number in C.H.R.I.S. To access this option, login to USCIS homepage, and click on check status link. This will enable you to register.

  10. shwndhh,

With regard to the small business, be sure to distinguish between the business' income and your income. Your income is what's left over after the business expenses are subtracted from the business income. Many self-employed don't understand, or don't want to understand, this. It's you who are sponsoring, not your business.

You can use the amount in your 401k. (I don't know if or how they take into consideration that you don't have access to all of that money.)

Whether or not you can use the money owed to you might depend on how certain it is that you can actually get your hands on it. Even a court order won't pay any bills if your ex- simply doesn't have the money to give you.

If you're paying child support then I believe that you should show your children as partial dependents even if you do not get to take a tax deduction for them. If you don't, and the consular officer thinks that you should have, it won't put the consular officer in a positive frame of mind about you.

If I was to use 401k on my I-134 form where would I put the amount? In the "I have stocks and bonds with the following market value, as indicated on the attached list"

Or should I just attach my 401k statement

  11. Zeyad,

I contacted The Islamabad Embassy and they said they have a little different process then other embassys, what they do is they send out the packet with forms like DS-230, ds156, DS156k and a checklist which does require a police certificate (Or As our police calls it Chaal Challan certificate) and medical as well,

Islamabad Embasy said in their own words, "On April 10, 2007, electronic data on this case was transferred to this office. We will now have to wait for the National Visa Center to send us the physical file/petition also. As soon as it is received, we will have a packet of information send out to the applicant in this case.Do not prepare anything in advance. Once her file is with us, we will send her an interview letter immediately. She will have around five weeks to prepare.

Before this office gets to hear about this case file, the petition will receive a letter from the National Visa Center."

I hope this answers your questions

Make sure all supporting papers, forms and proof that they need are completed before you go to interview. Double checked it. My wife passed the interview. For the pre-interview, the lady asked her, Who petitioned me and when i first left the phillipines? Then the interviewer asked her about my family and where they are right now. The he checked all the supporting papers. and that's it. she passed. Goodluck to all April Batch.
