  1. Hi.

New member here. Thanks for the info. I've been reading the board but haven't found the exact answer to my question.

I've gathered all the documents needed. The K-1 Step-By-Step guide is AWESOME. Thanks to whoever put that together. Like others have said, it saves $1500 on a lawyer who would just do the same that I could do myself.

Here's my question: My fiancee's documents are in Spanish (from Costa Rica). I have read many of you say that they need to be translated into English. Ok, do I need to have them notarized or certified? By who? Is there a firm that specializes in this type of thing?

    Thanks for your help.

Get them notarized by a first class magistrate

What documents are you talking about?

Her husband died and she has a document (in Spanish) which affirms that. Also her birth certificate, her Letter of Intent to marry me, and emails between us to show ongoing relationship. She doesn't speak enough English to write it in English. Would I have her write it in Spanish, and have it translated here into English?

    TIA

Get the doc translated and notarized, I would take the spanish correspondence and all phone bills

  2. our application is at the nvc waiting on completion YAY but kinda getting a little freaked out by the interveiw we don't do snail mail or phone calls we use msn messenger it sounds stupid but the internet webcams and mic's let us have some sort of a maraige were connected 24/7 is there anyway to get some sort of history to prove how often we connect to each other also photos we have a few but not that many togther just going to print them all off and keep my fingers crossed we have over 1500 thousand email recived and just abit more sent print of both set ? it so close everything we have dreamed of for 2 years we don't want to fall at the last hurdle so any advice about the interveiw would be nice we recon it will be about june do u think going over to england and going to the interveiw would be helpfull just any tips and a basic timeline of what we can expect next and when would be a real help thank u

Being there will definitely help at the interview, Maybe you can contact msn and get a log of the Ims or from your temp files you can get history of ims

you must have made some phone calls and if so get the bills printed

  3. :help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:

Dear all VJ'rs, I am confused as hell. I'm sure this will apply to many of you who want to do things right the first time.

With I-129f & I-130 Approved on the same day, I-129f goes to the consulate and the I-130 stays at the NVC????? (That's a

    question)

Now what??? I want to see my wife asap and want her here in the US with me. Based on what I read, k-3 means I-129f?? and gets her here quicker.

Here's the big issue, many pursue k3 and leave the (cr1) i-130 ALONE. With that in mind, what the hell happens to i-130???

Can you really neglect the i-130 route and pursue k3?? Or does the USCIS require for you to submit i-130 requirements (ie., police certs, medical, packet 3 or 4 shhtuff)?? oh yeah, not to mention the additional fees???

Is it required to pursue both at the same time just to be safe??

I would hate to ignore a USCIS procedure requirement (cr1 docs and fees) with wishful thinking that my k3 will go through, and get screwed because I ignored the cr1 (i130) route.

    My compressed version timeline:

    12/6/06: I-130 Sent

    12/29/06: I-129F sent

    1/11/07: I-129f NOA1

    4/10/07: I-129f & I-130 NOA2 (Approval)

With both approved The I-129f is transfered to the consulate for K3 and I-130 stays at the NVC till your wife gets here and she can apply for adjustment of status

k-3 is teh visa that is issued when I-129f is filed with USCIS and gets her here quicker.

I-130 stays at the NVC until your wife gets here and applys for AOS or adjustment of staus and that is when the copy of your approved I-130 comes into play

Nothing gets screwed as long as your NOA2 for I-130 says that she will be applying is the US for AOS.

  4. supposed all goes well at the embassy. this is what will happen.

1st. CO will give her a TOKEN. its more of a slip of paper.

2nd then after about 10 days wait she will get a call from Amex. requesting she come get her visa.

    and thats all she wrote!

I hope thats what happens, Thank you

  5. George W. Bush, President of the United States, made what he considers his most important speech today from the Oval Office. Bush did this on Friday, so as not to pre-empt coverage of his new favorite show, "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader."

In his address to the American people, he referrenced a speech made by one of his predecessors. "When he went to Germany in the 60's to protest the Russian take-over, President Kennedy said, "Sticky bun in Berliner." This meant he was telling the world that he was a resident of Berlin and felt their pain."

"Today, I tell all Americans the we are all Nappy Headed Ho's. We feel the pain of those spearchuckers that Don Imus insulted so callously. We share the hurt of those poor jungle bunnies who were cut to the core by his remarks. We weep with all the velcro hairs at Rutgers, and all over the country. Them tar babies did nothing to deserve the remarks of a DJ who should have been rejoicing at their triumph of reaching the national championship game. I ache for the hearts of these little monkeys and their mothers, because probably none of them have any clue who their fathers are, unless they're in Attica or SingSing or something."

"Anyway, just like John F. Kennedy said to the German people, I say it to the darkies at Rutgers: Sticky bun in Nappy Headed Ho!"

    Wow!!!!

  6. I made it. Taxes are done. I saw this turbotax ad on TV last night and I guess I was about as scared looking as the guy in the ad. Man, is it this time of year already again? I thought I have plenty of time and here we are in mid-April. Sucks, the older you get the faster time seems to move. Not fair.

Congrats, I just got mine done last night and mailed itr from a post office that was open on Sunday

  7. I would like to know what people do to get cheaper flights to the US once they have gotten the visa. Just want to hear some ideas. Do peole find one way to be more expensive than round trip? How does immigration look at one way vs. round trip?

I think if you ahve an immigration visa then you will try to get a one way ticket as you will be migrating to the US for life.

I travel to Pakistan a lot to see my wife and have found that going through a travel agent has worked out best for me.
