  1. I had looked at a long term contract for on my UK mobile provider and have just dragged myself off the floor after hearing he cost! Do you have the U.S. Mobile plan? I do see that some of their unlimited plans allow you to call back to the U.K, (landline) with 500 minutes per month usage. I will have some non WhatsApp calls to make to the UK from the US. Thanks
  2. It will be a cause of anxiety to make that one hour window. The medical can go on for a good two hours and it’s a 30 minute taxi trip to the Embassy. You’d need to cram the medical in and be out by 11-30 to get to the Embassy in time. Also if there is a long que and you miss it, then would you need to return for a doc check another day? If you attended your medical in the afternoon, tricky to judge when the doc check would be complete so as to book Visa Medicals. for the Embassy, it’s twice the throughput and wow the place has a mass of appointments as it is. perhaps remote interviews are around the corner…
  3. You've got to contact them via the Navigator: https://uk.usembassy.gov/london-visa-navigator/
  4. I see that my Immigrant Visa has this annotation: Class B Req. Attn. of USPHS at POE. From what I can tell, this is due to a class B medical condition. On entry to the U.S., i'd be interested to learn of the experiences of those that may have this annotation and any follow up instructions/orders. Thank you
  5. Since President Trump had taken office the COVID-19 Vaccine requirement has been abolished. I give then a call though, just to be certain.
  6. I planned to arrive into London Paddington 2 ½ hours prior to my medical. The train was late, but even so I was outside the station about 1 ½ hours early. It was a nice day so decided to take the 30-minute walk to Visa Medicals. You go through a pleasant part of the city and once you cross Edgware Road, keep on the right side of the road and you’ll first notice the Coach Makers Pub to the left and opposite Visa Medicals as the main landmark. Although an hour early, I walked the few steps and rang the buzzer and explained that I was here for my medical. I was buzzed in without offering any further detail and made my way through the inner door to the lobby of the building. To the right is a rather ornate wooden door with a brass plaque with Flat 4 Visa Medicals Doctor inscribed. I just opened the door, as there is no other security at this point and went to one of the vacant windows, (of two) to the right of the reception area. I stated my name and did say that I was early, but was given a clipboard and asked to take a seat in the waiting room and complete the additional forms. In essence the additional forms mainly include what you had already noted on form IV-18 (May 2017) with the addition of GP Practice information and other items that you’d not have a problem in knowing straight away. A medical release for the chest x-ray and perhaps some things to read through. As I was early, I had taken some time in completing and then returned the clipboard and documents to reception. I was asked for the usual police certificate and IV-18 form along with the SCR, vaccination history and listed medication print from Patient Access. All was in order and I then had my photo taken, which was also done in the reception area. I then returned to the reception area, with about another 14 people. The waiting room is not that big and I’d say holds around 25 people tops. It wasn’t long before I was called by the Doctor, (there is no order of who you see first) and then walked back into their office. I was asked some general questions and weight and height measurements taken. Then to the examination table for a comprehensive examination, (ENT,BP, heart rate, heart, lungs abdominal). The check of arms, glands etc. I then returned to the waiting area until called for the x-ray, which was straight forward and then on to the vaccination nurse. Review of Patient Access immunisations records where I then received all outstanding ‘jabs’. I know you can get some done on the NHS, but I didn’t do this, as I just wanted the day to be done and dusted, there and then. It’s a very expensive day anyway… Once complete, I went back to the waiting room, where I was soon called again to ‘check out.’ Went to reception and ultimately collected my payment card and hand stamped receipt, Certificate or Immunisation, FAQ letter and my copy of DS-7794. I was in Visa Medicals for about 1 ½ hours all together. I walked back to Paddington Station and then sought the next train home. I only booked a single, as you really have no idea when you’ll be finished and why get a return a sweat that you may miss it. Got home earlier than anticipated after a successful day. The medical is fine, no need to panic, although do take some reading material, as you could be there a long time. I did not see any plugs to keep phones charged, so an external battery pack, comes in handy. All the staff are very nice and put you at ease. Overhearing reception, they do offer same day appointments too! Finally, if you do come in via train, look at getting a rail card, it paid for itself twice over, just on this one trip alone. There was little I could do to avoid ‘peak’ travel and an extortionate fare.
  7. When my spouse completed the AOS, the form said not to go any further as income was sufficient, so part 7, (assets) were not needed. The income which includes 1099-R and other passive income was sufficient on their own, and will continue in the U.S. FEIE income filed on 2555 was not included as this will not continue Stateside. So passive income alone had taken us over the 125% threshold for our household of 2, there was no RFE from the NVC either. All the income is shown on our tax return, (we file MFJ). I guess my point is that the ‘assets’ part of the green form was not marked, so if we were multimillionaires, we would still need a joint sponsor as directed by the CO. Even if the household income was $0, we could very comfortably use 3 x assets to qualify. Much of those assets being U.S. based too; I was just not given the opportunity to send proof of the ‘cash’. Thank you very much for your help on this. I have secured a joint sponsor though and subsequently posted a new question in relation to this as a now merged thread. I did of course want to respond to your message and to thank you very much for it.
  8. At the end of my interview, I was told I needed a joint sponsor, (I had written a post on this, which has subsequently vanished). Ultimately, I was able to secure a joint sponsor and have a copy of their signed and dated I-864, Bio page of U.S. Passport, W2 together with 1040 Tax Return for the most recent tax year. This required information came from the double-sided green form that was handed to me at the end of the interview. The form went on to say that I will receive an email in 1 to 2 days after my interview with instruction on how to send these documents. The email is the same as what’s noted on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv and has received emails in the past, (courier and appointment confirmations). I have not received any email though in the 1 to 2 days as indicated. Looking at CEAC, there is no option to upload documents for any other sponsor/joint sponsor, as only the primary sponsor is named. There is an email address on the green form, unsure if I should upload the documents there? Would very much appreciate any guidance, perhaps someone else has experienced this? Thank you.
  9. Retirement income, interest income and such like that will continue. Ultimately, cash asset resources should be acceptable from within the household, before venturing out to a 3rd person. Thank you and very much appreciate anyone else's thoughts...
  10. With the job income removed, (will not continue in the U.S.) passive income exceeded the poverty level & will continue though. The problem is, we can't use assets as that 'box' on the green form is not ticked.
  11. I recently had my Immigrant interview where all went well until the end where I was given a green piece of paper with many options for the CO to mark against. Mine was marked ‘Joint Sponsor’ All was well with the i-864 income levels exceeding the poverty level, based on passive income that will continue in the U.S., (No RFE from the NVC). My spouse’s job is in the U.K, so will naturally end once we move. I guess our issue is that although we have ‘cash assets’, that on their own without any other income would easily exceed the poverty levels, the option to use these has been made unavailable to us. Our only option (that is ticked off) is for a joint sponsor. Getting a joint sponsor is negligible to none at best, so effectively, as we can’t use assets, I can’t get a visa. Is there any recourse with CO’s, such as they really should look at assets, or can they simply say ‘get a joint sponsor’ regardless of ‘cash’ assets'? You’d think that sponsorship would first look to the resources from within the household and then look to a 3rd party if those resources were insufficient. Any thoughts would be welcomed – thank you.
  12. Yes, spouse is in the UK. So any salary will end once in the U.S., but the AOS was based on passive income that will continue Stateside. The thing that gets us is that we have not been given the option of showing assets, which would easily fix this. The bit; 'Joint Sponsor' is ticked on the green form, even though I mentioned to the CO that we have assets. You'd think that you'd first look to the household income/resources before looking to a 3rd party. I'll do a proper post and hopefully someone will have some advice. Thank you
  13. Yes, no problem; It's all a bit odd really... So they want a joint sponsor, but this is despite my spouse exceeding the income thresholds, (no RFE's from NVC). We have been given no option to list assets, (liquid and cash), which on their own would easily overcome the poverty thresholds with zero income. Getting a joint sponsor is out, so by not accepting our household resources, effectively I can't get a visa. Not sure if there is recourse, or maybe my spouse really can't return home!
  14. Nope, was denied... I don't think it can be overcome either.
  15. I was able to attend my appointment with just the DS-260 confirmation sheet. At the visa check in area in front of the embassy doors, only this and my passport was asked for. The courier confirmation/appointment single sheet, (that I had) was asked for during the interview though.
  16. I received back what seemed to be a rather generic email from the U.S. Embassy London, mainly answering questions that I had not asked. What their reply did say however was to bring the available documents I have to my appointment. I've printed their response and also my initial email and will show security if asked, but I do have the single page showing my appointment date and courier information. The appointment date has been confirmed, so not receiving an actual email/letter from the embassy doesn't mean I don't have an appointment. Visa Medicals only wanted my case number/visa category and asked if I had an embassy appointment, they did not want to know when that actual day was. They had all my details anyway and I noticed DS-260 data was on form DS-7794 that I received at the end of the medical appointment at check out.
  17. The only number that I found was from the AIS site. It was mainly aimed at NIV, although I was able to talk with someone, (in the U.S. I think). After explaining my situation, they sent me the confirmation email from the Visa Appointment Service website, (already had that)! The lady said then to email technical support, which I did. Untimely, I have a a genuine appointment. Hopefully I will get a reply from someone soon and before my interview appointment. I still want to attend, even if they don't send me the email from the Immigrant Visa Unit. After some setbacks, things were all turning around nicely, all to be stumped, (temporarily I hope) by the lack of email! Just not sure where: lndivsubmissions@state.gov is initiated. Is it a part of the appointment website, that should automatically send out a set number of days prior to your interview. Or is it manually initiated in the U.K. by the Immigrant Visa Unit.
  18. I actually scheduled the appointment about 4 weeks ago, so I decided to drop the embassy an email via the navigator system this morning. I think it’s impossible to call them, so an email Is the only option. I have the medical next week so would like to get a email reply soon.
  19. I have a rescheduled interview for January 16th. I remember last time, that an email appointment confirmation was sent early in the morning to me 14 days before the interview that I had then subsequently cancelled. I have the appointment confirmed via the appointment scheduling website, (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/users/sign_in) along with the courier confirmation page, but no email yet. I know that the email is needed, along with the courier confirmation for the interview and to be allowed access to the Embassy. Has anyone experienced delays with getting their email from: lndivsubmissions@state.gov, that confirms the date and time of the interview and also contains all the steps to complete? With New Year, I maybe jumping the gun and need to wait a day or two, but it would be nice to be in receipt of that email.
  20. It’s just like a regular interest account. Report on Schedule B also FinCEN114 & 8938 if threshold specify. Depending on your accountancy method, you may import via a 1099-int substitute.
  21. Another superb update, thank you! All very useful information …
  22. Visa medical will let you know the earliest date. Got mine a week and two days before the interview. The minimum was 7 days. So if you had a Wednesday interview for example, the earliest would be the previous Wednesday for medical.
  23. Trying to reschedule an interview today. I see that the appointment website is down though.
