Thanks so much for all your support in this over the last couple of years. I will hope to see this thing actually in my hands soon...no tracking number yet.

I am a bit shocked. I am not sure how to react. But it's good that FINALLY it is going to be done!

In general, they would not likely ask for a new medical without them being prepared to go forward. There would be no discernible point of that.

Regardless of how long I or you have been waiting, there is one thing for sure, the bureaucracy is not functioning very well. There are too many of these stories out of Montreal.

I think we have seen quite a range of times here…someone else here might be able to speak to it, but I wouldn’t expect a speedy return. Couple of weeks minimum i think. None today for me.

It’s very painful. The consulate now has all my stuff, including passport and updated medical and RCMP certificate since last week and I still don’t see any updates. I am getting antsy!

So 5 or 6 weeks is a reasonable prediction, I guess?

This afternoon I have sent my passport and supporting items to Montreal. One step closer. Just hoping that re-opening the DS-260 not another dirty trick for delaying me; I am somewhat paranoid at this point. Otherwise, it felt good.

Well I have had the second medical, but I am not aware of this account. I guess I will see when the doctor sends mine in.

Well you can try again, but don’t expect anything different than before.

Thanks @BrownM! I don’t know if having a lawyer from beginning would have helped anything—I suspect not, to be honest. Personally I didn’t get lawyers involved until WOM suit.

My passport was given back on the spot. I knew right then it wasn't going to be good.

@addpeace, I empathize with you, believe me, if you have at all been following what has happened with my case, you can well imagine, I am right there with you in the exasperation. The US immigration system is essentially broken.

LOl thanks. You are, right the way the convo went was quite amusing. As far as asking for advice on which lawyer to use for these suits, I hope everyone remembers that advice is worth two cents, and less with inflation!

The main reason I signed with Hacking, aside from their good reputation in this forum, was they offered a payment plan instead of forcing me to pay everything up front. That’s really what it came down to. In addition, Goldstein Law, which I also contacted, was less responsive and wouldn’t even talk to me unless my wife was also on the call at the same time, and that annoyed me.

That’s probably the best, most succinct answer. At best, the answer is “mostly no”.

Lol. Well in the end they are getting me the result, thankfully. But you are right—it was not appreciated that I had to push on them so much. That part is poor.
