  1. Thanks Mike, I probably won’t be traveling with it again though lol. Too much mental stress lol
  2. Quick update: I had no issues using the 24 month’s extension letter. No issues with the airline, immigration or border control, I was not even sent to secondary check.
  3. I found this information on the Jamaican embassy website: U.S. Residents Nationals or citizens of other countries (with the exception of TAIWAN) who are permanent residents of the United States may enter Jamaica as tourists without visas, but must travel with the following in their possession: A passport or travel document, valid for the duration of stay in Jamaica; Alien Registration Cards (Green Cards) or Valid United States re-entry permits (if applicable) Round-trip tickets to the USA or onward tickets to another destination The extension letter should fall under valid United States re-entry permits.
  4. Hey, I know this was years ago but did your husband experience any issues traveling to Jamaica with the expired green card and extension letter?
  5. Also, U.S.A. Citizens and Green Card Holders, EU nationals, and Canadian Citizens do not require a visa to Jamaica. Valid passport with six months remaining validity is required.
  6. I got this from the Jamaican embassy website : It Should be noted that that applicants who possess a valid United States Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), regardless of nationality do not require a visa to visit Jamaica, if travel is being done directly between the USA and Jamaica.
  7. Thank you, you would think they all know the document by now. I called Spirit and they said the only issue would be TSA but that does not make any sense. At this point , I don’t even have any option than actually trying.
  8. Hey everyone, I would be traveling to Jamaica with my expired green card and extension letter with spirit airline. Has anyone had any issues boarding with the 2 year green card extension letter? Thank you
  9. Thanks Steven for the detailed explanation, I think the 25k was for fed income+ssi+med and the total income was $170k if filing jointly. Do you think filing married separately will reduce the amount owed? The tax pro suggested our child is claimed on the lower income and that should reduce the amount owed.
  10. Yes, we definitely messed up our W4. We will definitely not be making the same mistakes next year, the tax advisor already advised us to amend the W4s. I’ll know more tomorrow so we can make a more informed decision. Thank you!
  11. Yeah I figured the same, but I guess it depends on the difference. Jointly we already paid over 25k on federal taxes so paying an extra 11k seems like a lot.
  12. Honestly I’m not sure, she is still working on it and will let us know tomorrow. But we made over 160k together, so she suggested filing married filing separately and claiming our child on the lesser income. My wife (USC) made less than me less year, so I’m just wondering if it will have any effect with USCIS.
  13. Hi everyone, I am currently awaiting my removal of conditions, I submitted in August so I know I have a long way to go. For the past three years, my wife and I filed married filing jointly but this year our tax advisor advised we file married filing separately so we don’t owe the government a lot of money. Do you think this will affect my case in the future?
