N-400 June 2024 Filers
Jish&Abt replied to Tropical_Man1's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
I’m really sorry to hear about your spouse; I can’t even imagine what you’re going through. If it’s just the N-400, hopefully, it will move along more quickly. Our interview was at 7:15 in the morning, and the officer mentioned that if we didn’t have the ROC, we might have had the oath ceremony the same day. However, I’m not sure how much to trust his words. I used https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/request/" to get help with my case, and I really think it made a difference.- 293 replies

Dealing with the Baltimore FO has been quite challenging. We filed our application in February and had our interview on May 23rd. We had requested a combo interview when we applied, but the officer seemed unaware of this request. He said he would transfer the case but ended up conducting a combo interview (though he spent more time talking about other matters than the actual interview). After the interview, he mentioned that once the ROC case was transferred to his office, he would approve it, which could take about a week. The ROC was transferred the next day, but the case went cold for another three months. We reached out to our congressman, but that didn’t help much. Eventually, we contacted the White House, and someone there got in touch with USCIS. After three months, the case was approved, and about three weeks later, we completed the oath ceremony. We’re relieved that it’s finally done. Hopefully, things will move more quickly for others. I’ve heard that if it’s just an N-400 application, it can be processed faster, and if you’re fortunate to have an early morning interview, you might even get the same-day oath. Good luck!- 293 replies

We finally got our oath scheduled for 8/29. I think contacting the White House actually made things move more quickly after it went cold for about two months following the N-400 interview. Contacting the House of Representatives didn’t really help. -

Okay, cool. I wasn't sure. Our oath ceremony hasn't been scheduled yet; it has been showing 'Oath Will Be Scheduled' for the past 5 days. Hopefully we will hear something soon.🤞 -

I751 has finally been approved, 72 days after the N-400 interview. 😅 -

After 72 days from the interview, we got our I-751 approved, and now the N-400 status has changed to 'Oath Will Be Scheduled.' I'm not sure how long it will remain in this status. Since the I-751 is approved, will we be receiving a new Green Card, or is it just a formality for the N-400 approval? -

I just talked to an agent this morning, and they said there is nothing they can do. The officer has 90 days to approve it; if it's past 90 days, we can contact them, and they will open an inquiry. She said she can see our files, and everything looks good, but we have to wait for the officer to approve it -

That's fast. I actually requested a combo interview when I applied for N400. Mine hasn't moved since last Tuesday after it got transferred to the office. I have a strong feeling he forgot about it or got busy. 🥲 I don't know if I should call the field office and do a follow-up or if I'm just being impatient? 😬 -

Good morning! Happy Monday It's been over a week since we had our combo interview (5/23). The officer said it would take a week to get our I-751 case over to his desk for approval. We received a notification last Tuesday stating that the case was transferred to the new field office. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, how long did it take for you to get both cases approved? I'm unsure if we should follow up with the field office or just give it another week. -

Three-year marriage-based interview; it was a combo interview. We took the last three years' tax transcripts, both of our passports, green cards, driver's licenses, marriage certificate, and a mortgage statement. The officer only asked for both of our driver's licenses, my spouse's green card, and passport. He didn't ask for anything else. He did ask for her Social Security number to make sure it's correct. I guess it all depends on the officer. It's better to take as many documents as possible just to play it safe, imo. -

We just finished our interview this morning, and it turned out to be surprisingly easy and straightforward. The interviewer didn't ask many questions; instead, he spent about an hour chatting about random things. It was a combo interview, but he mentioned he needs to wait for the i751 case to be transferred to his office before he can approve it. He did say that we cleared the N400 interview, though. The only question he asked us about the i751 was whether we live together, and he said everything looks alright. So, now we're back to waiting and hoping for the best. -

I just downloaded the tax transcripts for the last three years. Can I simply upload them instead of bringing hard copies with me? -

Got it. Did they specifically ask for tax transcripts or any of those documents during the interview? I think I'll take a copy of the transcripts just to be safe, along with the other I-751 documents. Our interview is this Thursday, and so far, we haven't received any notifications or emails indicating it's a combo interview, but we are planning as if it will be one. 🤞 -

Thank you! Lol, I can imagine. I went through the N400 process a while back. Did you take any extra documents or photos, or just the documents they requested in the interview letter? I am contemplating whether we should take the IRS transcripts or just upload them on the site. -

Our citizenship interview is next Thursday. So far, we haven't received any notification indicating it's going to be a combo interview (I-751 and N-400). Does USCIS typically notify about combo interviews, or should we just go expecting it to be one? -

That's nice. Our interview is in a month, so hopefully, they will let us know about the I-751 before that.🤞 -

Just got an email notification saying our interview has been scheduled for May 23rd in Baltimore. It doesn't say anything about a combo interview or anything regarding our pending I-751. -

We're on the same page. We've attached a letter stating, 'We're still awaiting approval for ROC,' and we're writing this letter to request a ROC interview waiver or a combo interview. Let's see how it goes. -

We applied for citizenship on February 24th, exactly one year after submitting our I-751. Our N400 application now says biometrics reuse, and its status is currently 'Case is being actively reviewed. -

We applied for citizenship on February 24th, exactly one year after submitting our I-751. Our N400 application now says biometrics reuse, and its status is currently 'Case is being actively reviewed.' I can also see the current estimated wait time for the N400 process is 7 months. As for our I-751, there has been no update other than confirmation that the case was received.
