  1. Reading the forum, looks like no NYC based applicant has been newly scheduled for interviews in Jan/Feb? As in interviews are being held in 2023, but these were scheduled in late 2022. However, I haven't seen new interviews scheduled for NYC folks in Jan/Feb--with interviews in March.Apr? Hopefully things aren't slowing down this year.
  2. I've been folding mine to fit my travel document holder and have been traveling with it pretty regularly--and it has been fine so far. No issues coming in and out of the US. But agree that the letter is getting worn out, and it's sooo annoying not being able to use self check ins. I think I'll continue to use my 24 month letter until the 24 month period is valid, and will use the 48 month one when the 24 month period expires.
  3. Hi, any news from NYC folks? I submitted Dec 30th and since then my 751 was moved and biometrics reapplied. Just wanted to get a sense of which month Queens NYC office is processing. Any queens folks here? I have a trip abroad for two weeks, second and third week of May, and I’m hoping the interview will be either before or after that trip.
  4. I had the same thing, and a few days later my I-751 status changed to it was being transferred to another center, and then a day later i was notified that the fingerprints were applied. Nothing after that.
  5. Congratulations! That is amazing. So fast!! I live in Queens, I wonder if I can indicate to them that I'm being open interviewed at the Long Island office if it makes it faster (in the unsoliticed evidence option)
  6. I got a few more updates on my I-751 this afternoon. The first one was about the new office having jurisdiction, and the second one was about fingerprints being applied (although I had already received a letter about that back in 2021; maybe due to the new office. No emails/text; but just logged in to see that. No new updates on the N400.
  7. Hi, I applied the evening of Dec 30. No I didn’t put any note on pending I751. I just uploaded the extension letter as well, along with the picture of the expired GC.
  8. Guys, my I751 just changed to that it’s been transferred to a new office. I guess the morning email/text was about this, but the status changed only just now.
  9. I had the biometrics update and the wait time reduced just the day of applying. I got an email then about an update has been made and the status of the application was changed to "We are actively reviewing...". They must have had some glitch probably yesterday if all of us got the email/text but that there was no update.
  10. This morning I woke up to email and text messsage saying there has been updates to my case: however when I logged in there are no updates; neither on N400 or i751. Any one who had something similar?
  11. Queens filer, filed N-400 online on 31 December. I-751 pending since July 2021 too. Hope things still run fast for NYC based folks. Anyone has their I-751 approved before the N400 interview, or is it pretty much a combo interview at this stage?
  12. Filed online on 31 Dec. Pending I-751 at the Vermont Center. Got fingerprint waived and receipt letter right away after applying. Hoping they approve the I-751. I'm from Queens NY.
  13. Hi all, just wanted to share my experience of traveling to Mexico with my expired green card and extension letter. There is some ambiguity about this in the forums and I found it hard to search for information, so creating a separate thread. [FYI: this is not about entering the US with the extension letter; I know that fine and I’ve done it plenty of times] Sharing my experience just in case anyone is looking for this info: I had zero problems. United Airlines checked me in without any problems, and when I landed in Mexico, they asked for my extension letter after realizing my GC had expired. And that was it, and they stamped my passport. Different Mexican consulate generals in different US cities had very conflicting information on their website—including the one in NYC saying that the extension letter is not accepted. This is clearly incorrect. I followed the Mexican Embassy in Washington DC’s link, which redirects to the the actual Mexican governments regulation. It states that anyone with valid proof of permanent residency in the US needs no visa. Nothing more than that. It’s as straightforward as it can get. Link below for folks who are checking: http://www.dof.gob.mx/nota_detalle.php?codigo=5437383&fecha=17/05/2016 https://www.inm.gob.mx/gobmx/word/index.php/paises-requieren-visa-para-mexico/ Just to reiterate, Mexican immigration officials knew exactly what it was—didn’t even bat an eye— and I had zero problems getting inside MX (I went to Mexico City Airport
