All, a quick update. I applied for my passport at my local USPS office on July 22 an d guess what? My passport was issued in less than a week and is already on its way to me (Expected delivery is on Aug 3). I kid you not, this was the tracking info I have been receiving. I will provide a fresh update once I have it in hand.
I am not sure everyone's application will have the same resolution, but it looks like they are moving pretty efficiently. This should help you decide whether you want to go for it now or would rather wait for Phase 3 reopening. @Henry357, FYI

Congratulations! Fitting end to a stressful journey. At present, there is no good way of knowing exactly when your oath ceremony will be scheduled, but rest assured that things are picking up pace. I got approved in Feb 2020, things got pushed back because of COVID and I had my oath ceremony scheduled, then descheduled, then scheduled again for July 8 when I received my certificate. Not saying it will take that long for you, but be prepared to wait for longer than usual times. 

Did you apply after the COVID -19 shutdown? Three weeks doesn't seem all that bad, given how everything is going.
 

He slammed your head against a wall and you didn’t call the police? He needs to be stopped before he does that again. You really should have called the police. He can’t have you deported. He can’t do anything to your status. But heck knows what he will do physically to the next woman he encounters unless a stop is put to it. 

You don’t need to worry about hour immigration status in the US- you didn’t commit fraud and you are legally here. He can threaten all he wants but the green card is YOURS: you don’t need him anymore. Don’t buy in to his threats and I suggest you block him from your phone and save the messages you have. You think USCIS who is on the brink of collapse is going to waste their resources looking/deporting you/your case with NO proof you committed fraud? Another tactic an abuser uses/thinks he can use. You have no problem applying for Naturalization 5 years from your residency date. File for divorce ASAP based on abuse. If you are ever in this situation again call police.  I’m glad you have somewhere safe to be. Move on with your life and don’t let him drag you down- no one deserves this.

You cant hold Indian passport and another country's passport. Indian govt doesn't allow dual citizenship. You must renounce your Indian citizenship after becoming US citizen. Everything is completely online other than notary/mailing. You might need notary depending on your situation. I replied to your other thread as well. If you need further help just post. If you don't renounce in a Timely manner they throw late fee of $250. If you use Indian Passport after becoming US citizen they throw another $250/stamp or something like that on your passport.

We are up against a virus that no one has any clue about. It is not too far out to think Phase 3 may be indefinitely delayed. If you apply through the normal process, at least you are somewhere in a queue and there is some movement happening. Now that  Phase 2 is slowly opening up, I would think it wiser to at least get your foot in the door. Plus, I think people just hate the uncertainty of the waiting game and getting your passport application in gives you a sense of 'I am doing something'.

No I was incredibly lucky and naturalized in January.
The passport took a little over 2 weeks to arrive, the documents took another 3 weeks

Are you trying to get a passport? Find a passport acceptance agent in a post office, go and apply. It may take a while but you’ll get your passport (and naturalization certificate) back. They’re working on fifo principle - first in first out based on backlog from Feb/March. 

You are correct, if you get the card also, it will be a separate mailing, so yes you will get 1- your birth certificate( US citizen by birth) or Naturalization Certificate( Became citizen after birth) in one mailing. 2-Passport itself( Book) in another mailing, and 3- passport card by itself in an envelope with the " Special" protective sleeve they include.

Like I said, some will die but most will live.  What is 135k in a country with 330 million??  .00040909 of the population.  That is if the 135k number is truly from vulnerable people dying from covid and not people who had a mild case and WAS positive but died by another means.

i agree that you pay for USCIS to provide a service and understand that what I am about to say is not an immigrants fault but a financial decision out of your control. At the time that USCIS announced changes to their fees last year, I looked at the fee compared to what it cost to complete the petition, etc. Upon reviewing this information USCIS is not even operating at a break even point financially, they are operating at a loss. I am also going to add that the current fees have not changed so they continue to operate at a loss. This, combined with the result of less petitions, etc due to COVID, may be why card production backlog is being experienced. I am in no way saying this is okay, but be grateful and thankful that you have status with your NOA1 and visa. As I have said in other posts, and I will say again, when you start this process you are not in control. I tell children that I work with all the time to assess what they can control and cannot control. If we worry too much about what we cannot control or what we ought to have it can wreak havoc on the immune system and make us sick. Been there, done that as a teenager, and paying for it in adulthood. This process is not easy, and at times is not quick. Again, I’m sorry that you are going through this but the article is misleading, people who are legal are not undocumented, they still have legal status. I want to go one step further and say bring your NOA2 and your cell phone with you as proof of card being in production.
