Thank you for all your reply. Can someone please explain why people prefer joint sponsor over household member. Is their a drawback to being an household member. Will their be more documents to send in if my brother was a household member? I have seen another post where the op was told to get a joint sponsor over a household member.

Hello i am new here. I got married to my spouse that lives in Pakistan. I am an American Citizen. I was working on her i130a which asks for her parent information. Everything was all good until i was informed that the my mother in law has an error on her id card. Her CNIC has a completely wrong last name. Her last name isn't from her father or her husband. I was wondering is this an issue for me or is it OK if i continue the application with what is written on her id. If any other Pakistanis have any experience with this issue please let me know.
