I-751 February 2023 Filers
nerdcouple replied to nerdcouple's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
My status changed to 'Fingerprints taken' on Friday (10/4) and to 'New card is being produced' today. Does this mean my ROC got approved? I didn't apply for citizenship, and didn't get an interview invitation. I did reach out to my congressman in mid-August and got this response but maybe it helped: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that your constituent’s case is pending at the Texas Service Center (TSC). There is currently a 31 Months processing time for Form I-751 cases that are received at TSC. Your constituent’s case was received at this center on February 27, 2023. Please note that estimated processing times are processing goals and not a guarantee that applications will be processed within the estimated timeframe. -

Happy New Year everyone! I am in the same boat and haven't heard anything since March. The ink on my extension letter is coming off slowly, and I am ready to get the new Greencard haha. I do not plan on applying for citizenship so I will have to be patient -

Same here, no updates yet... -
Update: I made it back to the US on my original flight. Since I booked my flight using points, I didn't have anything to lose and decided to push my luck. I checked in online, put my A-number in the form and entered May 2027 as the expiration date of my greencard. Also added my Global Entry number. Went to the airport and nobody asked for the physical greencard at the bag drop off. There was one more document check but nobody wanted to see the actual greencard or the letter so I got on the flight without any issues. At immigration in the US I got in the Global Entry line as always. The officer asked for my greencard and I said I don't have it with me but showed him the extension letter. He looked at it and said 'Welcome to the US!"... I didn't even have to go to secondary inspection so I must have gotten incredibly lucky. I had a plan B in place in case they would have denied boarding which I totally expected: I would have taken a flight to Mexico City a few hours after my original departure and met my husband there. He was ready to travel there from the US just to deliver my greencard and to get back together to the US on the next flight. Thanks again for all your replies. I am incredibly grateful for what happened today and that was absolutely not what I expected to happen. Success factors for me were online check-in and Global Entry I believe. Plus a lot of luck! I don't ever want to go through this again though.

Hello all, I am supposed to get on a flight from Germany to the US (Lufthansa) in less than 12 hours and just realized that I brought my extension letter but left my greencard at home. Is there any chance they will let me board the flight? The extension letter is dated March 2023 and is for 48 months. I do have pictures of my greencard but I left the actual card at home. What can I do at this point?

Traveling on Extension Letter?
nerdcouple replied to Derwood's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
I have taken two trips since my Greencard expired at the end of May, and I am happy to report that there were no issues at departing airport or immigration in US (SIN-LAX on SQ and FRA-IAH on LH). It annoys me that the online check in doesn't work anymore since they ask for expiration date, but moving forward I might just use the expiration date plus 48 months to circumvent the issue -

Hello all, it has been almost 2 months and I haven't received biometrics waiver or appointment letter yet. Should I be concerned? -
I-751 March 2023 Filers

I reached out to my local HR team last week (big international company with 90k+ employees worldwide, HQ in Europe) to let them know that I have received the extension letter. Today, they said they went on the USCIS website and checked, and that they do not need the letter. No re-verification needed according to them. I told my HR rep that it would make me feel a lot better if they could add a copy to my file. HR rep said they would check again and circle back. For literally every job I applied for, there was a question in the process regarding whether or not I am legally authorized to work in the US. If an auditor comes in, what evidence would my employer still have that I am actually authorized to work here if they did not add the letter to my file?! I am just trying to not get fired What is everyone else's experience with that? -
Traveling on Extension Letter?

GE procedures are so random... I usually fly into IAH and sometimes I need to talk to someone, other times I just print the GE receipt and hand it to someone and I am good to go. Arrived at JFK yesterday and printed GE receipt was enough. My GC expires in May 2023 but GE doesn't expire before Dec 2026. I just double checked and was surprised that GE is not dependent on GC. Hope they won't change that lol -

Hey everyone! I mailed my package with UPS on 2/20 but there was a shipping delay and it didn't get delivered before 2/27. I got a text on 3/2 with a SRC case number, so I guess that makes me a March filer I am still waiting for the letter in the mail. Wishing everyone a smooth but fast ride! -

I mailed my package with UPS Ground on 2/20. It got delivered on 2/27 to Phoenix after a few days of weather delays. Got a text on 3/2 with SRC case number (Texas Service Center). Does that make me a March filer? -

I dropped of my box at UPS this morning!!! I feel a little relieved that it's finally on the way to Phoenix. Estimated delivery is on Thu (2/23). I used UPS ground shipping because I was not willing to spend more money on air to get it there 1-2 days earlier, and USPS offices are closed today I am really hoping that my fingerprints can be reused because the potential appointment date might be during my trip to Germany next month. I am using that unexpired Greencard while I still can... -

Thank you all for your input. I will ship my package on Feb 21 (Tue) since Feb 20 is President's Day, and USPS offices will be closed. Cannot wait to get in line I decided not to file a N400 since I do not want to give up my German citizenship. I'd have to file for retention permit of my German citizenship with the German government, and I don't think my chances are high. It is a lot of paperwork and needs to be timed very well. I think I will rather renew my greencard after 10 years (who knows where I will be by then) instead of going through the citizenship processes on both German and US side. It's the tenth of the month and I am still the only soul that filed or will file in February? Have a great weekend everyone! -

Hello February Crew - I couldn't find a thread for February filers yet, so I created one. I got the reminder letter from USCIS today. My Greencard expires on 5/20. The filing date calculator on the USCIS website is not working for me but I plan on mailing my package on 2/18 (Saturday). At this moment, I am just collecting evidence and printing a lot of documents. I am happy to share the content of my package once I am done. So far, our process has been really smooth (K1 all the way through AOS without any RFE), so fingers crossed that does not change. Here's to waiting.... Again 🍷
