  1. Hey Guys. I am applying passport for my son who is holding an IR2 visa. The passport office told me I needed to get a form of DS3053 from the mom. The mom is in Mexico, and my question is can she just go to a local notary to notarize the form, and then send it to Mexico? The other option is that I see some online notary websites do it online, can the mom (Mexican citizen) do the online notary? Is it acceptable? Thank you guys.
  2. My son arrived in the US last month, and I am preparing his US passport application right now. I do have doubts about the process, and please kindly share your thoughts. 1. the application requires EVIDENCE OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP. What should I provide in my case? 2. I have an overseas trip coming up this Dec, Can I request expedited service for IR2 visa applicants? Thank you.
  3. thanks lemonslice. the only ID my son has is his passport, and the local authority offered the same recommendation you offered. I will try talk with the officer and see what they can do. thanks.
  4. Hi Guys, I have a question for the IR2 visa interview, does anyone know how many days I need to wait to get the applicant's passport delivered? My son holds a Spain passport, but he resides in China with me, and the interview embassy is in Guangzhou China. I need to travel to Guangzhou to complete the interview with him, but once his passport gets collected by the embassy. We cannot go anywhere because he doesn't have any other ID to fly or take the train. May I know how long it takes for the embassy to issue the IR2 visa? Thanks, everyone.
  5. Hey Everyone, So I already submitted the IR2 visa for my child, and I am already done with I864 form. I am wondering am I still have chance to change the embassy for IR2 interview? I am in China, and I just relocated to the other city which also has the US embassy. If I can re-arrange, would it delay my interview? Thanks.
  6. Dear All, I am a US citizen, and my naturalization date is April 23, 2019. The funny thing is that my son was born overseas on April 17, 2019 (One Week before my naturalization date). So he did not get US citizenship by birth, and I already filed an IR2 visa for him. Everything went smoothly, and I am in the stage of submitting the I864 form for him. I submitted I864 and I864A as the financial support documents, but the I864 documents were rejected. The NVC sent me a message through the portal asking me to submit the I864w. I believe the form of I 864w is a financial waiver, but I am not sure if my son is eligible for that. Can anyone give me some guidance? Appreciate that!
