  1. We received the GC yesterday (07/13). Time for a breather. Sending you all good vides and approvals very, very soon!
  2. GC in hands as of yesterday (07/13). Time to rest for a while now! Best of luck to you all!
  3. As others have said, it is not necessarily wrong. USCIS has no logic, which is sad. Sending you good vibes so you can hear something soon!
  4. Thank you! Sending you good vibes so yours comes through very soon!
  5. We received notification today (07/05/24) via USCIS tracker application that the GC is being produced. No interview and no RFE. We did not apply for the N400.
  6. We got approved! No interview and no RFE. Received notification "New card is being produced" via the USCIS tracker this morning. We did not do N400.
  7. We got the same thing, even though we are September filers. Keep us posted! Wishing you an approval without interview or RFE!
  8. Letters written to one another and physical gifts are not strong evidence when you consider the totem pole of evidence. Visits are definitely strong and contact with family members can also be beneficial. Now, think about it and don't box yourself in. For example, we (my husband and I) do not use social media. Therefore, we did not have all the posts about one another or the interactions with the family. However, the trips that I made there, I took one or two pictures with my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law (they hated pictures, but we made sure we had them). My parents are older than the average age for our generation. Thus, their contact with my husband while he was in Argentina was not constant because they do not use tech-savvy phones, but they did talk on the phone and they were aware of our progress. What we did was include signed letters of support from each parent sent stating they knew about the relationship, how it progressed, that they supported the relationship, and that even though time spent was limited because of distance we all were like a family unit. The letters were signed and included with a copy of a picture ID of the parent that signed it to corroborate the signature. These were included in the similarity of the intent to marry letters (we went the K1 route). As far as the travels and the meetings, maybe frequency is not an option but longevity could be. Shorter trips more often might not work for expenses or whatever your plans are, and that is OK. But, maybe she can come and work remotely for a certain amount of time? In other words, 4 trips a year for 5 days is frequent but not enough time to co-exist versus one trip a year that is a month or longer would give you time to get to know each other on a daily basis and it will also be good for USCIS because it is more time spent together (i.e one month or 30+ days is more than 4 trips of 5 days, which is 20 days). I had longer trips myself where I would stay 3 or four weeks, and that was better money-wise, for our relationship, and for USCIS. In fact, my last trip was purposely booked once I knew the interview date. I booked it so I could arrive a few days before, be there for the interview (even though it is not needed and I was not asked to come in), and we had plenty of time after the interview to finalize apostille and legalization prior to both of us leaving the country together. Same sex would be an issue in other countries. But, Argentina and USA are not one of those countries. Regarding the age gap, by itself, it is not enough to cause a decline, and there are plenty of couples on VJ that are both same sex and have an age gap that have been approved without any issues. K1 and CR1 have both their pros and cons and one you can decide what is best for your journey and where your relationship is at. @Crazy Cat has a good list for each option that can help you make that decision. All I have to say is, immigration is going to be tough, regardless of the option, and it will be a long ride. Make sure you both talk about it, consider where you are at, what matters to you most, your needs as a couple, and manage your expectations. Then, buckle up for the ride.
  9. Hello! I understand your privacy concerns. But, is there a way you can elaborate as far as "it does not look like the rest". If the issue is only pictures, that should not be a huge worry. Some officers like to see pictures more than others but it is not the strongest evidence you can submit. Does she have the tickets from her travel? Any reservation from the hotel, etc.? Receipts for things you did together while she was there? With immigration, it has never been about being from a poor country, but rather if the country is high fraud because of immigration scams. Argentina might have its financial struggles, but it is not considered high fraud when it comes to immigration. Tourist visas are always more difficult than K1s and CR1s. Both K1 and CR1 have their own benefits, it will depend on your relationship and where you are at. We have a Whatsapp group for Argentina members where we can speak Spanish. If you are interested in joining, feel free to message me privately.
  10. Argentina does not restrict co-sponsors. So, if your parents are willing and able to sign the Affidavit of Support as co-sponsors, it might be better for you. We have a Whatsapp group for Argentina. If you want to join, message me privately.
  11. Hello! Welcome! Argentina allows co-sponsors. We have a Whatsapp group for Argentinians. If you want to join, message me privately.
  12. My husband has come a long way and continues to learn English but it is not confident yet to attempt the interview. We do not want to rush to apply for an N400 and then throw money down the drain because of a miscommunication or language barrier.
  13. You will be coming in shortly - probably in the next few weeks! Claiming it!
  14. I hope you get it in the next few days! I want them to be done with 2021 too. Once they get to 2022, only January, August, and September have large amount of cases. February is the next one with the most cases, but March-July they are minimal, so they should get through those "faster".
  15. According to the stats website I look at, they have halted I-130 processing. They are working on I-751 Removal of Conditions applications. If they are slowly working on I-130, or when they begin processing them again, they would be at the December 2022 mark, so you might still have more time left. Best of luck!
  16. Correct. When it comes to reviewing cases, I've always believed that some officers review the cases down to the T of what they have been told, so when something is not 1 to 1 with their "guide", they just submit an RFE or whatever - rather than using critical thinking and actually reading the paperwork. You can tell when there is a senior officer versus a newbie. I also think some of them are extremely disorganized or lazy. For our AOS packet, we got an RFE for my husband's birth certificate, which I know we included because I had an exact copy of the packet AND the packet had a detailed cover letter indicating where everything was. SMH. Welcome to immigration where the paperwork is a lot and the time doesn't matter!
  17. Hi all! Not a filer now nor was I doing it from Puerto Rico. However, I am a PR native. Unfortunately, yes, for the immigration process, there are times that USCIS officers do not understand the nuances between Puerto Rico and USA documents. I wouldn't even be surprised that some of them forget the whole U.S. territory - and yes, I have been present to conversations about this where I have been asked if it was hard for me to get my green card as recent as less than a decade ago. For example, the whole tax returns. You have the ones in PR to Hacienda (as someone previously stated) and the federal ones that are the same as those in USA. Likewise, the birth certificates can be a thing, especially due to the fraudulent ones. I know for sure twice there has been a government change in how they look and I have had to request them so I have the updated version (and I am only in my 30s) just because the old ones were so easy to fake, people getting to PR illegally and using them to then marry to get to the USA. At any rate, when it comes to financials just send everything that you have. Sometimes including a short statement of explaining what something is can help them understand. I kid you not, I paid Puerto Rico for a certificate of single status just to be safe when I started the K1 visa for my now husband only because I didn't want issues and I knew just throwing Puerto Rico into the mix could result in stupid RFEs. LOL Anyways, long rant, let me know if I can help. Best of luck!
  18. Yes, they are working May-July 2021 now. Hoping you get to hear something within the next few weeks!
  19. If you are going the K1 visa route, the important thing is that you have seen each other at least once in the last two years. It sounds like you have had plenty of visits in the last two years - it does not matter that you have not seen each other in 6 months or that you won't be seeing each other before the interview.
