  1. A few options here: she tries harder to find a joint sponsor, you wait until she completes her studies and has held a paying job for a few years, she moves to your country.
  2. Sounds like for you as a couple the CR1 (spousal visa) is the best choice. Get married and start this process as soon as you have the marriage certificate. She will complete the process in Canada, and visiting the US while it’s processing is possible.
  3. If the I-129f gets approved before the I-130 (which will very likely not happen) you’ll still have to do the adjustment of status process in the US. This means that you won’t be able to work or leave the US until you have authorization. Huge downside of the K3, so I’d just stick to your I-130 if I were you because the CR1/IR1 would be a nicer start to your life in the US.
  4. Yes, you just wait. Not months, but probably closer to 2 years!
  5. When did you file the K1? This must have been a while back?
  6. CR1 visa all the way! Don’t just look at timelines, also look at the drawbacks of the K1 (the adjustment of status process) because that really isn’t a nice start to somebody’s new life in the US.
  7. Yes to the stable job or yes to the age gap? That’s an important one too, that’s why I asked. Getting engaged on a first visit is very soon as well.
  8. A lot of red flags here. High fraud country, getting engaged on first visit, very short relationship. Any other red flags? Big age gap? Does your girlfriend have a good (stable) job?
  9. Good to hear that you didn’t have an issue but the warnings still stand because it is better to be safe than sorry I think. Here is a post on Reddit from an hour ago from somebody who actually did get their K1 denied due to a pre-wedding ceremony https://www.reddit.com/r/immigration/s/wT9wnygNPN
  10. This is an immigration forum, not a religious or (anti) vaccination forum and the experienced members here have a lot of knowledge about immigration so this is why they are here. The bottom line is that if you refuse vaccinations based on your religious or personal beliefs, it should not be very difficult to explain that part when you file for the waiver. Do you have a Plan B in case the waiver doesn’t get approved?
  11. I am not bashing either, just trying to help but it looks like you’re not really interested in getting answers.
  12. You say “there were no vaccines when the bible was written”, so that makes me wonder which part of the bible made people decide that they are against vaccines. That would be part that you can refer to if you want to apply for the waiver.
  13. Very cute but no need to bring it. Bring some pictures or other proof of your relationship if it makes you feel more prepared but you will very likely not even be asked for any of that.
  14. Is this more of an arranged marriage or something? If not, I would be very careful when somebody brings up marriage, especially if you come with the huge bonus of immigration benefits to the US.
  15. For I-751’s, people usually get an RFE (if they get one) for updated evidence because I-751’s take so long. I received one too, and the RFE clearly stated that is was because they needed updated evidence, which could include updated bank statements. Sending every bank statement from the last 2 years really is overkill..
  16. Is all of the evidence really good evidence or just a lot of the same things (2 years of bank statements for example)?
  17. I think greencard holders can submit a FOIA request for their travel history, correct?
  18. I had this exact situation happen to me. My I-751 got approved while I was abroad. I already saw online that it was approved and I asked my husband to bring the card when he was going to pick me up at the airport. I was pulled into secondary when I arrived back in the US and the CBP agent asked if I knew that my I-751 had been approved (he pulled up my case) and I said “yes, my husband has my green card and is waiting for me in the arrivals hall”. He let me in without any issues.
  19. I know they are not supposed to buy tickets prior to having their visa, that was not the point I was making..
  20. What is preventing you from booking a return ticket? Usually a trip has a start and an end?
  21. It seems like he doesn’t want to. Does this not raise a red flag with you? And don’t you mean: “I can’t think of anyone who would purposely want to miss their interview to go to the person they are about to get married to”? If his desire to come to the US would be bigger than his desire to get married to you, that wouldn’t be good. Him purposely missing his interview shows that he is not ready to get married to you yet.
  22. When did you enter the US and claim asylum? When did you marry? Is your country safe now?
  23. I know that the mother just wants to visit and that yes, her daughter can petition for an immigrant visa if she wanted her to move. Not sure what you mean by “being old is an automatic tie to her home country”.
  24. I am not fighting with you, and also not accusing her of anything. Just talking about how the CO will look at it.
  25. I know not everybody wants to move to the US, but that’s what the CO will assume so she needs to focus on her ties to Jamaica. It’s not so much about luck, it’s about assessing how high the risk is and sometimes a CO makes an incorrect assessment.
