  1. Hey @Yulia17 I wanted to ask you the same question about your IR-5 interview as I did Ana above. Thanks!
  2. Hi @Ana.M I have been asking people around - did they NOT require translations to English during the interview? That is what it says on the website, but I want to make sure I ask actual people. Thanks!
  3. I filed two IR-5 visa applications for my parents and both cases were just documentarily qualified (DQ'ed). I did not submit any translation to English of those documents on the CEAC site, and this is why: According to Travel State Gov website --- Please note that all documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country from which you are applying, must be accompanied by certified translations. All of the submitted documents are either in Russian, Kazakh or both, so I figured there was no need to translate. Could someone please confirm if at their interview (any immigration visa interview) the translations were absolutely required? Was anyone able to go in without them? Thanks all.
  4. Hi Ineska, thanks for the info. My parents were able to request it and they were given the same turnaround time of up to 6 months. Now I am wondering - am I obligated to wait for the document to upload it with the visa application or is there any way that I can write a note on the CEAC site that my parents will be brining the document with them to the interview since it takes such a long time to get it? Thanks!
  5. Hey all! I have petitioned for my Russian parents to obtain IR-5 visas as I am a US citizen. Now we are required to submit police reports for them from everywhere they lived starting at 16 y.o. and my parents used to live in Kazakhstan when it was part of USSR and some time after USSR fell apart. It seems that the online platform for obtaining the police report (http://Egov.kz) requires an ID that only is assigned to Kazakh citizens, which my parents are not. How can they obtain the police reports without those IDs? Many thanks!!🙏
  6. Actually, I just went on the USCIS website to check the status just in case and I am seeing two approval notices in the "documents" section for both of my parents! Yayyy.🤩 It is a little odd that I didn't get notified and that the status says "actively reviewed by USCIS" with today's date, but I am happy anyway.🥳
  7. Hey all, it's been almost 13 months for me and still nothing, in Nebraska Service Center. Hoping for an update soon.
  8. Hey all! I filed for my parents on 4/21/22, no updates to the cases yet. I also noticed that the USCIS processing times estimate changed (for Nebraska at least), it used to say 10.5 months and now it is 14 months...🤷‍♀️
  9. hey all! has anyone heard any updates on their i-130 yet? I filed in April 2022 and no updates on my end yet.
  10. hey all! I filed for my parents in April 2022, not approved yet, my case is in Nebraska. has anyone's petition been approved yet?
  11. has anyone transferred their interview to Kazakhstan or another country? I filed i-130 for my parents, but they don't have a visa to go to Poland, and likely it would just be easier to fly to Almaty to conduct the interview.
  12. hello all! happy Monday.🙂 I filed the i-130 for my parents in April 2022, not approved yet. Anyone else here filed for parents for IR-5 visa? 🙂 edit: just realized this is the thread for ir1-cr1 only, never mind!
  13. Hey all, filed an i-130 for my parents in April 2022. I am seeing on this forum that it takes a while for NVC to forward the visa documents to the petitioner's country consulate, does anyone know why that is? I thought that IR-5 visa processing was quick once the petition is approved by USCIS.
