  1. ROC window opens 90 days before the expiration date on your conditional GC, naturalization window opens 90 days before your 3rd. anniversary as LPR.
  2. WHAT?!!! One day?!!!!! OK, no, not possible. I woke up in a different world. You're twilight zoning me, right?
  3. They cannot apply for your brother while they live abroad. They can apply once they obtain the visa and move to the US. Now, assuming your brother is over 21 and unmarried, based on the visa bulletin for May 2023, the waiting time would be: -If you petition him: 16 years -If your parents petition him: 8 years plus the time it will take to get their visa and move to the US. That can obviously change in the future.
  4. Some comments on the old threads suggest he might not be a victim. I personally see it as very toxic relationship - the old case; current OP could be someone else-.
  5. As you might have read, members believe OP is an "old case" from at least a year ago, that has constantly reported issues with the wife: toxic interactions and violent behavior from the beginning of the marriage. If the OP is indeed that old case, he has received plenty of advice that he clearly has not taken. We all have a limit, don't we? Empathy and concern can easily transform into annoyance and contempt.

  7. Currently Boston is at 12 months average waiting time which we know is just for reference. Some took less, some will take more. Give them 6 months more and then file a WoM. That will get them moving for sure.
  8. Writ of mandamus if you're willing to pay 5k+. Or keep waiting. P.S.: We filed for ROC on April 2021 and still waiting.
  9. What I would do is sending all the forms with the right spelling - even if in the NOA2 it is misspelled-. If they mess up again on the AOS receipt, then I'd complain.
  10. As derivatives of the K1 they don't get an alien number with the visa. They do once they go through adjustment of status, so leave it blank.
  11. I would totally hate the traffic it would create, of that I'm sure! I've seen the cars parked around but that's about it. Have never seen a human. And now I seem to remember one day I saw them stopping trailers? I could be making that up though. 😅
  12. Regardless of border check points, LPR's must always carry proof of status -though we know that is not necessarily the case-. And in the many years we have lived around the area, we have never seen that check point working. Thought it was just for "decor". 🤣
  13. The one we pass by often -on the I-5 near San Clemente-, has vehicles around but I have never seen it working as a check point. Therefore my curiosity regarding @Scandibeing checked on the way from San Diego to LA.
  14. Where and when exactly were you stopped? The only check point I know, has not been working in ages.
  15. Would be a serious issue if she is charged and convicted. Setting that aside, there is no reason to stay with someone who is violent. Things are horrible enough as you've described; that's not a healthy environment for you or the kids and it could eventually escalate to something worse.
  16. It was beyond horrifying! She said back then her emotional state was rock bottom. What seemed like an innocuous thing transformed into a real life nightmare: they had to pay 5k for bail plus whatever the lawyer charged; and the whole experience of 5 weeks in jail! Can't even fathom.
  17. She filed for AOS through court after 5 weeks in jail. Posted twice after that but no one answered.
  18. If you travel after the oath you are already a US citizen so you must enter using a US passport. What you could do is enter through a land POE with your enhanced ID/ drivers license if you have one. The other choice would be getting the US passport while abroad.
