  1. @yuna628 First of all, we're truly sorry you and your loved ones are all going through this. Even within a knit tight family, issues of this nature become such an overwhelming challenge; it leaves everyone feeling completely drained and basically lonely, as the emotions and struggles of each are so unique. I could not agree more about these experiences feeling surreal, like being in the worst nightmare possible. It is as if all of a sudden you were extracted from your actual life and it is no longer your life anymore. It is so painful and confusing. That's how we felt not long ago when my spouse lost his mother and I lost my father within four months. Without going into details, it was something we are still trying to recover from. The fact that on top of everything, in the US, healthcare is a business and for a family, dealing with any disease becomes a financial decision, makes it even more cruel than it already is. If you feel like talking, just to vent or distract yourself, please don't hesitate, and send me a message. We send you all the good vibes, best wishes and all the strength possible.
  2. Well, I guess he was already flagged by CBP as a powder enthusiast. We now need OP to share with us why would CBP flag him.
  3. He used the USC line at the airport and referred to himself as USC on the title, so everything indicates he was. Agreed that it is odd for a citizen to be sent to secondary inspection.
  4. Was he a US citizen when he applied for you and your mom? Was he ever notified of the case being sent to the Embassy/Consulate?
  5. On boundless. com it says we should know by summer. Just saw the increase on naturalization is minimal but for AOS and ROC it is insane! They should have lower fees for those who must adjust and remove conditions if they went through a K1 -I propose it here as the official comments period is over 😜 -.
  6. You can see the results of the visa lottery on May 6th. Come back in two days if you are awarded a visa. In any case, you have the answer: you must disclose everything.
  7. You need to file the I-90 to get the typo corrected. It is free. You can call customer service and request for a paper ADIT to be sent to your home. That would serve as a temporary GC for a year. You can also go to the closest CBP deferred inspection location and ask if it will be a problem trying to enter the US with that specific mistake -I assume it shouldn't but they're the ones to decide-.
  8. Sending all the good vibes for that file to be where it should in time.
  9. A. Applicable Statutory Period The applicable period during which an applicant must show that he or she has been a person of good moral character (GMC) depends on the corresponding naturalization provision.[1] In general, the statutory period for GMC for an applicant filing under the general naturalization provision starts 5 years prior to the date of filing.[2] The statutory period starts 3 years prior to the date of filing for certain spouses of U.S. citizens.[3] The period during which certain service members or veterans must show GMC starts 1 or 5 years from the date of filing depending on the military provision.[4] In all cases, the applicant must also show that he or she continues to be a person of GMC until the time of his or her naturalization.[5] B. Conduct Outside of the Statutory Period USCIS is not limited to reviewing the applicant's conduct only during the applicable GMC period. An applicant’s conduct prior to the GMC period may affect the applicant’s ability to establish GMC if the applicant’s present conduct does not reflect a reformation of character or the earlier conduct is relevant to the applicant’s present moral character.[6] In general, an officer must consider the totality of the circumstances and weigh all factors, favorable and unfavorable, when considering reformation of character in conjunction with GMC within the relevant period.[7] The following factors may be relevant in assessing an applicant’s current moral character and reformation of character: Family ties and background; Absence or presence of other criminal history; Education; Employment history; Other law-abiding behavior (for example, meeting financial obligations, paying taxes); Community involvement; Credibility of the applicant; Compliance with probation; and Length of time in United States.
  10. Where is your passport with the visa at the moment?
  11. There are many going through it. You can search the forum for threads. Unfortunately AP has no set time. For some it is days, for others months and some are stuck there years. Your options are: waiting, contacting a consgressperson to get involved or file a writ of mandamus to force the embassy/ consulate into taking a decision.
  12. Form I-130A says beneficiary does not sign if living overseas, so it is fine if you sign.
  13. 1. You can sign and write the date anywhere on the page (we did on the top margin). 2. Just type part 2, leave item number blank unless you are including more information on the items on page 6.
  14. 3. "To qualify for this provision, you must be the beneficiary of a labor certification application (Form ETA 750) or immigrant visa petition (Forms I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, or I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker) filed on or before April 30, 2001." So, NO.
  15. I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition?
  16. You should be able to see the RFE online - mind you I know this from other members because I've never filed a case online-.
  17. I think nationwide the marriage certificate IS the marriage license. It becomes an official certificate once it is filed with the county clerk. Guess the difference is the term used.
  18. I'm truly sorry. Have you contacted the Ombudsman or someone higher up?
  19. Look up by county. Is this yours: https://www.fortbendcountytx.gov/government/departments/county-clerk/birth-death-marriage/marriage-licenses
  20. Read this: https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/temporary-protected-status/temporary-protected-status-designated-country-sudan
  21. No need to mention your absence. The evidence seems fine. 👍 Fees in one check is better. And I don't think 2x2 photographs are needed, are they? I don't remember including any - and honestly I'm way too lazy to check if the instructions ask for them-. 😆
