  1. Yes you can. It is extremely common and you can find lots of members in the forum that have done so. Some have even been interviewed for citizenship before the renovation of conditions was approved.
  2. Yes, it is normal. They did not flag your package. They will cash the check and send you a notification letter if the case is accepted. If it is rejected, they won't cash the check and will return your whole package. An RFE will be sent once the case is reviewed if there is some evidence/ documents missing. That will happen many months after the case is received.
  3. You can print the corrected form and send it to your mother in law. She prints it and brings it to the interview. Once there, she informs the IO about the mistake and hands them the new one.
  4. As a note on that matter: USCIS is not responsible of the enforcement of the affidavit of support unless she gets public benefits. It was the family court's job to determine alimony. Now, if it was an annulment rather than a divorce, it will be difficult and extremely costly to get a thing from the sponsor. By the time they finish he would be off the hook anyway.
  5. Check the thread shared above. The OP actually offered help to those with specific questions on how he successfully filed.
  6. That corresponds to the ELIS system, so there is no actual information on the processing time. Ideally it should be processed faster, but there is no guarantee.
  7. Please share the following information: - date you filed for ROC - date your ROC case was approved - date you filed for divorce - date your divorce was final
  8. The policy is pretty clear on the matter: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-g-chapter-4 Why do you think you need an attorney?
  9. Our evidence for the K1 totalled three pages: two pages with "official" info all together and an extra one with four pictures of us including place and date. For the description we used JUST the space provided in the form; it literally read: we met in xxxx year, we visit each other since then. From all the immigration things we have been through, the K1 was the easiest of them all.
  10. I guess you mean September 2022? If that is the case, you've waited just 6 months. Depending on the service center, the minimum is 10.5
  11. Try abbreviations if possible and don't space words. Eg: instead of San Jose #567, type S.Jose567
  12. Sorry to disappoint you, but you have not received them all. A few lucky ones have the 36 month one - not me, which makes me sad as my collection is incomplete-. 😔
  13. She cannot go through the USC/LPR line; if you want to go through together, you must use the visitors line.
  14. You will very likely be questioned during AOS interview in that regard. But you were granted entry because the CBP agent determined you did not have the intention to immigrate, so in an ideal scenario, there is no reason to think the case will be denied.
  15. When you adjust status you must send the I-693 the beneficiary was given after the medical exam and it must state he voluntarily received all the vaccinations.
  16. If you haven't received the extension, file an e request here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do
  17. They're processing cases from 2007. The waiting time for that category is minimum 16 years. Check this link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-march-2023.html
  18. If you are planning on getting the requirement waived you must include very strong evidence on the impossibility of meeting her. In general the waiver is granted due to cultural or health reasons. On a quick search a flight from LAX to Beijing is below 1000dlls. So I doubt financial hardship would be enough. Regarding COVID restrictions, they're no longer in place. I recommend you both meeting, maybe in a third country and avoid wasting time and money on filing a petition that will very likely be denied.
  19. Yes, you can use priority mail with tracking. We have always used USPS to mail everything. It is cheaper.
