  1. Then maybe the way to go is, applying for the reentry permit - remember you should file no fewer than 60 days before you travel- and use it for the 2 years validity and on the last year, don't renew the permit, just return to the US before the 6 month mark abroad. You can actually file now and request for the permit to be sent to the embassy/ consulate in the city where you will be in Germany. Except for the hassle it would be to travel back to the US in case your ROC interview is scheduled, you should not have issues.
  2. Classes start in 90 days. Definitely she won't be done by then.
  3. An alternative to the previous plan is to relinquish your GC before leaving and visit with an ESTA - if you're a citizen of a VWP country-.
  4. What I would do is: - marry the bf - travel to Germany - relinquish permanent residence and "switch" to visitor on next trip to US - a year or so later, have the husband apply for IR1 - once visa is approved, enter the US on or after the 2 year wedding anniversary Voilà!
  5. What's the status of the visa here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV
  6. Call and say "Infopass", that will connect you to an agent. Then ask for a Tier 2 agent. Regarding statistics on K1's receiving 20 year GC, I honestly have no clue.
  7. What's the current status of the visa here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV
  8. So besides being a toxic couple, what's the actual issue? He has the visa, it was not revoked ergo he can travel.
  9. It tends to take a few days, not a whole week. Not sure how backlogged they are and if they set specific days to send emails - which sometimes is the case-. You can always contact them to inquire. Or ask on the thread I shared. Doubt it is something else given that the slip literally states supplemental questions will be sent to you by email.
  10. As soon as you get inspected by CBP you become a legal permanent resident and you have all the rights that come with it, including traveling and working in the US.
  11. You should not have a single issue. What your employer suggests is actually very common, mostly among people from Mexico and Canada, who cross by land just to activate the GC and immediately return to their countries for a while to deal with whatever needs to be dealt with.
  12. Exactly what I was typing, you beat me to it! Hopefully there's no rain on the day of your oath ceremony.
  13. You will likely receive the DS-5535. Start reading and following this thread:
  14. Because immigration is an emotional rollercoaster. And with others: it is a glitch and you should not worry.
  15. Could be not necessarily a common name but someone else with the same name as your mom with some visa issue in the past.
  16. Best of luck. Hopefully sending a new medical trigger some action in your case. As a side note: such a long wait for AOS is not actually bad; if your case is approved on or after your 2 year anniversary, you'll receive a10 year GC and skip ROC.
  17. You would believe so, but I have read too many horror stories in the forum about notifications sent to old addresses. Now, for every bad story there must be several good ones that are not posted here. But with immigration, one should minimize the risks.
  18. I can file the N-400 for you if you are into supporting those in need. 😁 I am more knowledgeable and charge less than a lawyer.
  19. USCIS official notifications cannot be forwarded. And you would need to file the I-90 to get the stamp.
  20. Moving after filing is risky as well - very high probability of getting mail sent to your old address-. Tomorrow call again, say Infopass and ask for the I-551 to be mailed. Travel in July, enjoy vacation with no worries and file once you've lived the required 3 months in Florida.
