  1. Curious as to why you are already thinking about them abandoning status when you just filed for them to become LPR.
  2. Seems they're more than "not bad"for you. You're incandescent about them! 🤣
  3. Because the incandescent lightbulbs industry is not as powerful and does not bring as much revenue as other businesses that actually consume way more energy and pollute more. The reasoning is similar to banning straws: basically useless but something was done. Now, I won't get tired of repeating the following: incandescent lightbulbs are really bad -they have been banned for many years in other countries-.
  4. Actually yes: they are doing everything possible to NOT increase the capacity of the grid, which btw, is outdated as well. But really, incandescent bulbs are bad.
  5. Before trying to apply for anything MEET HER! Then come back and we will all very glady take your hand to guide you through the very long and winding road of immigration.
  6. A visa is not needed JUST IF you both fly directly to Morocco and your husband remains in the international zone of the French airport. If you have to change airport or leave the international zone, he must apply for a short-stay visa. And you are mistaken: it has literally NOTHING to do with him being an LPR.
  7. We know how frustrating that can be -we filed 3 years ago, received an RFE and right after responding, we were transferred to schedule an interview; since then, nothing-. I am certain this means they will approve you as soon as they review your updated documents.
  8. Hmmm, do you have an approval letter for AOS? And yeah, no 3a nor 3a.1
  9. If that's were you lived when you filed for AOS and where you were interviewed, yes.
  10. You must meet first. Full stop. This is not about immigration but taking marriage seriously: online infatuation is nice but having actual interaction with someone and getting to know them in real life is necessary in order to know if that is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
  11. Tax transcripts are downloaded from IRS so no matter who prints them, they're the originals. W2's I guess you get through email from your employer, so same thing applies. AoS you fill and physically sign, you scan and he prints, so that is also NOT a photocopy.
  12. Energy efficiency? "Officials estimate this will cut carbon emissions by 222 million metric tons over 30 years and will save $3 million per year on utility bills." https://www.energy.gov/articles/biden-administration-implements-new-cost-saving-energy-efficiency-standards-light-bulbs And as you can see from the link, it is too late to have a choice, as it was finalized a year ago. Enforcement starts in July this year and not all incandescent lightbulbs are banned. In any case, it is an extremely outdated technology that uses lots of energy and produces an immense amount of heat.
  13. Where are you traveling to? Back home? And I agree the lawyer should pay the fee.
  14. As per travel state website: "If you are requesting a transfer for a K Visa, the receiving Embassy or Consulate has the discretion to approve or deny the acceptance of a K visa application from an applicant outside the consular district. Contact the potential gaining U.S. embassy or consulate in writing to request a transfer of your case and include the reason for the transfer request. If you paid the MRV fee at the original post and the transfer request to a new post is subsequently approved, a new visa fee will be required." So you need to choose where you can travel to process the visa and then contact them to see if they accept your case. Regarding the passport, many countries don't have biometric passports yet or began issuing them quite recently, so lots of applicants worldwide get their visas in their non biometric passports.
  15. You don't need to argue. Just when filing the I-90 to replace the card, check the box that says it was USCIS mistake and you'll get the fee waived.
  16. Not on a professional level nor working for the government. Just certain affiliation to something related to a certain party or regime.
  17. The only think I can think of is that they are doing some background checks based on the refusal in Japan. Now, a weird question: does/did your mom have some political affiliation back where she was born?
  18. When they ask they refer to visas to the US not to another country. And you say the IO inquired about canceled visas, not refused ones. Must be something that happened when they worked in the US back in 1998.
  19. Maybe because you filed near the time they started sending the 48 month one. So you got the automatic one right after your case was accepted plus the recent batch they sent to all cases pending. And it is a classic USCIS move: playing with one's emotions. 🥺
  20. Yes, AP is the only option. Unless you want to file for a spousal visa while she's abroad.
