    NVC is fairly quick but Montreal is horrible backlogged and you're looking at about six months till interview. That's at least what current timelines show.

    I'm almost certain that they don't need your FBI background check since they'll do their own. What they want is you doing the legwork and talking to local authorities and get the local information from where it happened. And if they can't give you anything then maybe at least a statement from court or whoever is in charge that they don't have any files anymore.

    He can expedite as soon as he has his orders. Maybe a written statement from the CO will do too. He as the USC can call or email and request an expedite because of it. But why do you want to try and get here before his deployment? Would be an awful lonely time in a new country.

    Sorry was looking at the wrong part. This question was asked in the old form too ( i intend/ not intend to contribute... ). It's asking about how much you'll give to the beneficiary ( your fiance is the beneficiary). You can put $0 and add an explanation.

    You're the beneficiary? In the USCIS filling instructions it says it's asking about the income the beneficiary WILL receive. So I don't think it's asking about your current foreign income and you would answer with $0 since you won't be working instantly once you enter the US. USCIS and their 'one form fits all' is taking it to new levels with this one 🙄 @pushbrk you're the master of reading those forms.

    No photo needed for the I-864 but yes, 2 pictures each for the other 3. Tho I've seen people here only sending 2 with the I-485 and getting everything approved just fine. Not worth the worry and potential RFE in my opinion.

    Now that you're a citizen you have to update SSA about that anyways and while doing that you can request for a new card without the text. But yes, nothing bad happens because your card has the text.

    Even with the G1145 it's a hit or miss if you'll actually get a message.

    You don't need to provide this information for former jobs. It would only be needed for a current job which you don't have. For immigration it's all about current income. You could have earned a million last year and they would reject you if you're currently unemployed and don't have anything in savings that would make up for the unemployment.

    Exactly and that's where NVC just sends out the 'not good enough' message because they don't really look at it. The CO will at the time of the interview.

    Even if it goes on outside of the US that's perfectly fine. The important part is that it goes on.

    It's self employment so it might very well continue and gradually shift over to the US.

    If it was received on Monday that means they only picked it up yesterday. It's a holiday week and you have to be a little bit more patient I would say 😉 Maybe Friday you'll get something. Or tonight.

    I just applied for ROC with a money order and wrote US instead of U.S. Went through just fine.
