  1. Since you had an AOS interview you might get the ROC interview waved. NBC will eventually forward your file to your local office and hopefully they'll just approved it without interview and instantly approve the N400 too. Would have been great if that would have happened before the N400 interview cause thats why it was transferred from your original location to make a combo interview happen 🙄
  2. When looking for a lawyer make sure you get one who's experienced with WoM. Don't go for the first that promises you a positive outcome. Ask questions.
  3. You can either wait till he gets a SSN or you open a new bank account with a bank that will work with you. These are your options.
  4. Tell them to pound sand. The only ones who need an SSN or ITIN is the IRS. Everybody else can work with a placeholder. So you can either try and escalate it till you find a supervisor who knows how to do it or go to a different bank that will work with you.
  5. If your ROC case is at NBC you have to check for your local field office processing times since usually ROC cases at NBC will have an interview.
  6. To be allowed to keep the german and get dual citizenship you have to fill out a bunch of forms and explain why it would be beneficial to you. I have good enough reasons I think but not the extra $400 since we moved to New Jersey 🤣
  7. I do want to do it too. No more dealing with USCIS, able to stay out of the country as long as I please and more work opportunities for me. My problem is that I need to apply first to keep my german citizenship and that's a lot of money and about 1-2 years wait time. So not going to file as soon as I'm eligible unfortunately.
  8. Because that way they can get the N400 out of the way. Why waiting if they have the means to adjucate it now? Sure it's not completely done but the biggest part of the workload is squared away and not hanging over their heads anymore. Would it be smart to make it a combo interview? Yes absolutely but with so many components involved it might be better for USCIS to do it that way especially since most ROC cases get approved.
  9. The exempt only goes one way. You can't claim it as part of a move when your things go in the other direction. Contact German customs and ask. That would be your most accurate source of information.
  10. Move on. I understand it's a hard time right now but don't let your grudge eat you up. Let her get her stuff and let her get out of your head.
  11. What violation do you think that would be? How would you know if she quit or got layed off? With everything you plan to do you're just making your life harder than it needs to be. Divorce and move on cause the odds are not in your favor and you need to accept it. And arrange for her to get her stuff cause she'll win that court case for sure if she goes for it.
  12. Overstays and working without authorization are things that are forgiven when marrying a US citizen. Even if THE TWO OF YOU would have answered truthfully about the working part she would have gotten her Greencard if you like it or not.
  13. OP might be just posting in the 'wrong' AOS channels. K1 instead of others. OP also said they have an EAD and need a police clearance for work. Probably to even start.
  14. EAD makes a difference for many as they now can present a document that is accepted by many agencies as proof of their authorized stay. Sorry that it doesn't work for you. Tried a different DMV office?
  15. Many have that problem at the DMV depending on the state regulations. Not just 'overstayers' but K1 applicants too while in the AOS process. As soon as you get your EAD that problem should be resolved. Don't know about police background checks but probably them too. No need to travel for that.
  16. No it only means we have seen somebody here who was working to bring their fifth potential spouse over. There is no final number. The sky is the limit I guess.
  17. What you heard is wrong. What is correct that after a certain amounts of filing for a K1 and bringing 'people over' you'll have to request a waiver which is typically granted if USCIS thinks it's genuine. I second @Boiler with get married and apply for CR-1 if you feel like you're getting nowhere with the K-1 but my guess is that they'll want to see the same documents as what they're asking for now. So you'll have to get them no matter what.
  18. You can also do short visits to your mom whenever needed. Sorry for your mom, hope she'll be fine.
  19. You can enter and apply for a re-entry permit. You'll have to do biometrics in the US but could leave immediately after. No need to wait for the approval. That would give you at least two years of staying outside the US without worries. Your wife can send or travel to you to bring your plastic Greencard and later the permit once it arrives so you have it with you to travel back to the US.
  20. Wait what? Y'all made it? After waiting so long? Congratulations 🥳🥳 ( sorry OP, had to derail for a hot second 😁)
  21. Looks good to me. Include the pictures. Even if they're not as good as joint bank accounts they do help to paint the picture.
