I've been applying, saying mid-January as expected date to be able to start work. Maybe I'm being too optimistic.

In any case, potential employers have just been very laid back about the timing of interviews. In one case, I had a phone interview a month ago, and will have a follow-up in-person interview next month - they're flying me in.

I kind of feel I might have jumped the gun a bit, but my wife wholeheartedly disagrees.

Guys, I know I disappeared for a long time, but it's because my computer broke down, I just want to say MY CASE WAS APPROVED, it happened on the 27th of September, exactly 13 months  after sending the case, also my husband is here, so we got to celebrate together

No medical info at NVC stage except for a single vaccination question on the DS-260.

Actual medical, where you might need more vaccines, depending on the records you have, typically happen when your interview is already scheduled. Medical results are either handed to you to take to interview or they are forwarded to the consulate.

I got an email saying DQ and in CEAC there’s a message saying all documents were reviewed and accepted and everything has a green tick mark

    That’s awesome!

How can you tell, though? Does it say so explicitly somewhere on CEAC or you just figure that’s the case because all submitted docs were accepted?

    Various reasons:
    - "scan not complete" (one form was on long paper and it was scanned, but the very bottom of the form was not complete- Silly me, I didn't realize or pay attention to that)
    - "can't accept forms of different types" - I have included 2 W2 forms and 1 1099MIS in one PDF - They didn't like that
    - "cannot view password protected form" - The form was not password-protected at all, anyone can open it, BUT when I open the form a popup comes up at the top and says "some fields are interactive...". I guess they didn't like the fact that the form was still editable - I did fix that (I hope) by printing the doc again as a Microsoft PDF, and the form was no longer editable.

Original submission date was 9/9 and now once I fix and upload those docs again, I'm back to ground zero

Hopefully some folks can learn from the above mistakes!

we filed with a lawyer, we have got 3 rfes. The first time was our lawyer sent in "too much" of my husbands tax papers and that seemed to be an issue. The recent 2 other times were because our lawyer uploaded the wrong documents 😪😤

It took 8 months for us, but we submitted the i-129f, which seems to have helped.

Actually, the exact same thing happened to us. It took an extra day or two for the website to update with the I-130 approval.

Once you meet (be sure to have documentation of it to make the process easier), you can start the K-1 (fiance) visa process.
If you marry instead (idk Bahama's laws to marry in terms of how long it takes to get a license), you would do a CR-1 visa process.

ETA for a K-1 is roughly 7-10 months right now,  I believe. Sometimes closer to a year.
ETA for a CR-1 is roughly 12-16 months.

CR-1 is a much better visa overall (cheaper, faster to a green card, probably faster to working and traveling abroad, etc.). But it does take a little longer. The only* (there's a notable exception in very limited circumstances) advantage of a K-1 is being a little faster.
Read the comparisons and guides (link at the top of every page) on this website to get an idea of what is actually better for you both long term. (Ignore the K-3 option..it's effectively obsolete.)

That said, I would just note that filing the petitions for a fiancee or spouse visa after just one visit can raise scrutiny of if the relationship is bona fide or not. How strict they are varies a lot by country, and idk how it is in hers. Do some research. Don't rush into any decision.

    Best wishes.

Why do you need rapid visa when you are a member of this site? Imo most staffs of rapid visa come here to get info too, rapid visa is made up of persons like you and I and you will do most of the work and not them. You will spend more money and waste more time with them. 99% of people here will tell you to diy. Just forget about the $200 and file everything yourself, if you need any info, this site always has people online 24/7 to help with advice. Good luck.

pinano got a reaction from lonesurvivor in Paranoia about being detained, was I? Interview soon
Worrying about the interview is normal. But from what you’ve described, there’s absolutely nothing here.

Think of it this way: would something show up on your police certificate? Since you’re doing AOS, I don’t know whether you actually need one like IR1 does, but even if you don’t, would you expect any criminal history to be listed?

Your doing the right thing, not being nosy just better preparing yourself! I wish I’ve done that I would of been in US by now I think.. lol 😂
I made a mistake by submitting I-864A form and it needed to be I-864 only for joint sponsor:) We thought a family member belongs in the category as household member but we were wrong!
Be sure to read USCIS gov. site carefully before submitting forms. Good luck to you 👍🏼

Ok...so it sounds like she committed visa fraud when she entered then. Not a great start. And if a sleepy communications exec, reading whilst taking a coffee break, can figure that out (that’s me by the way), a trained officer...whose job it is to spot these things...will do too...

I’d definitely recommend her going home and you guys starting the CR1 application - yes, it means a year apart, but you can visit each other - and much better to have time apart initially but AOS granted overall...short term pain, long term gain.

My understanding is that those documents marked as accepted will not be reviewed again at this stage.

CO will review everything at the interview stage, however, so there is no guarantee that a doc accepted by the NVC is completely in the clear.

So are you saying that people who also expedite their case at the various stages or do DCF are also cheating the system? (Im sure there’s way more people who do those than file for the K3) As that’s exactly the same thing!

They are all perfectly legal and viable options for getting your spouse to you aswell.

Almost everyone has the option to file the K3 if they wanted, at the end of the day it’s your choice and it’s not cheating the system. If uscis didn’t want to process them they would completely remove the option to apply for it. We all pay the same fees, yet depending which service center we get sent to determines how long we have to wait, how is that fair? Someone applied same day as us but got Potomac but we got Nebraska, so they’ll likely be together 6 months sooner than we will? Of course we’re going to do what we can to try to reduce that time.

I worked up the courage (or patience?!) to call and spent 30 min on hold. Once answered, though, the rep was very efficient - I think it took less than one minute to learn what I needed.

Turns out our petition was received same day as yours, on Aug 13, two days shy of a month after NOA2.

I must say I'm incredibly relieved: we're done with Nebraska for good, and it didn't get lost in transit! 😁
