Boiler, i have been reading that regarding Montreal and proving domicile. My understanding is that they are not following the whole "intent to establish domicile" where we all move together, which is one of the ways of proving it as I understand.
My wife and I are looking at purchasing a vacation condo in NC (the state where we intend to move to), hopefully this year. I think that will be helpful as far as having an address for my wife to prove domicile....
If that goes through then she and the kids would likely move first so she can get employment and the kids can be registered for school - we will just have to figure out the timing of that. wouldn't want them to move any sooner than they would need to.
If we need to be apart for a time being, I suppose that would be ok. I'm an airline pilot so we are used to me being gone for several days at a time lol.
Steve, my apologies if my first post read that way but we definitely wont be waiting for her Canadian citizenship to go through before filing the I130. I didn't state that very well lol
I only mentioned it as background information as to our current status!
