  1. Thanks for the guide, allaboutwaiting! Boiler, i have been reading that regarding Montreal and proving domicile. My understanding is that they are not following the whole "intent to establish domicile" where we all move together, which is one of the ways of proving it as I understand. My wife and I are looking at purchasing a vacation condo in NC (the state where we intend to move to), hopefully this year. I think that will be helpful as far as having an address for my wife to prove domicile.... If that goes through then she and the kids would likely move first so she can get employment and the kids can be registered for school - we will just have to figure out the timing of that. wouldn't want them to move any sooner than they would need to. If we need to be apart for a time being, I suppose that would be ok. I'm an airline pilot so we are used to me being gone for several days at a time lol. Steve, my apologies if my first post read that way but we definitely wont be waiting for her Canadian citizenship to go through before filing the I130. I didn't state that very well lol I only mentioned it as background information as to our current status!
  2. Hey everybody, just thought I’d chime in and say hello and that I will be starting the IR1 paperwork process in the near future! Bit of background: My wife is a U.S Citizen and PR of Canada - her Canadian Citizenship paperwork is just about complete, so she will be getting her Canadian Citizenship when that’s done. she will be submitting the I130 as the sponsor for me. I’m a Canadian Citizen only and will be the beneficiary. Both of our kids (10&13) have dual US/CAN citizenship. we live and work in Canada but my wife is ready to move back to the USA (we are all looking forward to it!), so hence the reason for the me applying for LPR in the USA. We have been together since the end of 2002 and married since June 2007 so there should be no issues in proving a bonafide marriage lol. I’m guessing I have posted in the correct forum? Please bear with me as I go through this and ask lots of questions! I’m starting by looking at the I130 info thread here and on the USCIS site. Any tips or suggestions in the meantime!? Thanks!
