Well it turned out Embassy didn't bother to notify her that Visa was issued and sent to Aramex the same day last week the 17. They didn't even update the US travel website to reflect that passport is no longer with them. It was a stressful week for us wondering why they holding her passport for 10 days after the issuance. I sent them an email on Friday they responded the same day. She picked it up yesterday Saturday.

She will be here Inchaalah next week to spend Ramadan with us.

So it took approximately 3 months for AP to clear. After 2 emails asking them to expedite as well as a letter from Senator.

I hope they won't hold the passport for that long it should be 1-3 days. very strange why they taking their time.

I live in GA my wife is joining me I have lived in GA for 17 years before that 8 in NJ:)

Visa updated to issued last week passport is still with Casablanca Embassy. It was approved on 04/16/2019 from what I have ready 1-2 days the send the passport to Aramex. She is registered with Aramex. Status still passport with Embassy.

Any news I hope they call her soon

Yeah Visa issued this morning: Thank you all and the best of luck to everyone. They have not called her yet but system updated to issued this morning. 

Basically in my case approximately 3 months. It sounds to me that the consulate of Morocco are backed up where it comes to AP status. 

She sent the passport on January 21 got the visa issued April 17 today

Keep emailing and inquiring after 2 months. It seems to me that a letter from a senator or congressman is key. My senator sent them a letter 3-4 weeks ago along with letters I sent. 

Again best of luck to everyone I hope they call her tomorrow to pick up her passport and paperwork

I just wanted to update you my wife's case has been updated 5 times to AP then Ready for interview this morning. I think they are ready to make  a decision since she obviously had the interview back in January and was put on AP since.

Any similar experiences? I hope she doesn't get called back to a second interview.

My wife got a call last week from the US embassy in Casablanca they basically were looking for the DS 5535 form that she emailed 3 months ago. The guys said that they found the email without an attachment very strange. She forwarded him the email. He told her that they are working on her file. Her case got updated Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each day till last Thursday 5 times. Then nothing since we are hoping that this is a great news. The guy told her one to 2 weeks possibly..this is the second week

Any ideas please?

Yes I am aware of the DS5535 can take a long time. Is that means they can hold the passport for months years? Can we request the passport from the embassy after 2 months? Any advise?

Hi All did anyone received a VISA after being in the Administrative Processing. Please share your experience to help us get an idea. The US embassy website the latest update states that it should be resolved within 120 Days (6 months basically) I think it used to be 2 months..

Did you get the VISA after the congressman contact them any news? if so how long it took ? I am assuming you were given the DS5535 and put under administrative processing

Any news guys looks like the embassy is backed up 6 to 9 months. Any one got any news please let us know. My wife and I are still waiting

BTW are they holding your passport as well.? And I agree with extreme vetting during the NVC process not after the interview. They get people excited to show to the interview just to be handed a DS 5535...it's brutal

I expected that. It’s politics how can they get away with holding passport for more than 2 months 

I think we should all get together and reach a senator for treating us like a second citizens with no rights to any info we are not criminals 

many how this is all implemented by trump in 2017 

i beleive we must voice our concerns and see if it leads to anything . I need my wife with me it has been one year of waiting

Yeah that was confusing. She typed her name in the signature area and kept it in a word doc. And emailed it I hope this helps...

Well in the back of the 221 (G) it clearly state that due to the load of work at the embassy it's taking 6-9 months for AP.

She was put under AP at the NVC once before it took them 3-4 months to complete AP (I am assuming) and they submitted the file for the interview. She was refused the visa and given the 221G and they emailed her the DS 5535...

I hope I didn't confuse you. I am confused why they requesting the DS5535 twice. It sounds to me like there is a disconnect between NVC and the Embassy. I am thinking to send an email to embassy asking them why she has to go through the DS5535 twice within the same app. They can request results from NVC or whoever does this so called Processing

Same thing happened to my wife. Looks like many cases like this some people have been waiting for 400 days still nothing at least 6 months for Morocco minimum. This is crazy. My wife was asked to fill out the DS5535 form twice at the NVC 7 months before interview and after the interview.

I don't know how the embassy is getting away with holding passport for more than 60 days. This is abuse of power

Please ignore my last inquiry. I juts saw the answer from previous thread. Looks like the lady from Mekness did't get the DS-5xx form. Makes sense. It's inhuman to hold the passport for a long time.

Do you know if the lady from Mekness who got her VISA a month after interview did submit the DS-5535? If that's the case there is hope. If not it sounds like we have to have extreme patient. 

I hope if she asks for her passport that it will not delay the process they can't prevent people from traveling while doing their investigation.

okay sounds goo I will keep you posted. I am not sure why they asked for the passport if they planned on holding it for months. In that case we will ask them to return it so that she can travel to meet me in April in europe.

We did go through the DS-5535 before the interview it took about 4 months. After the interview in CASABLANCA with embassy they put her under 221g. If I understand correctly the first one was during the NVC process. The DS-5535 can take up to 6 months. 

In our case she got approved by NVC and scheduled for the interview. She was given the 221g basically admin processing. They are just doing more investigation. It could take few weeks to months. from what I have read it should be resolved typically within 2 months

We are being optimistic and hoping for a quick turn around. When you go for the interview there is a chance that they will request more time for processing. Everybody's situation is different.   In my case they asked for the passport and the one doc that I mentioned when I opened this case. It has been now three - four weeks since she submitted the passport and the court doc that they requested.

Thank you for the positive remark. They asked her to mail out the passport along the missing doc. I don't think they will hold the passport for more than 6 months?

Let's hope sounds to me that there is hope soon.

My wife had the interview in the Embassy of Casablanca on 01/09/19. She was issued an Administration Processing form that states that the case was refused under 221g.

And was asked to send the passport along with A court Record document.

We send all docs via the Aramex office on 1/20/2019.

The case still shows Processing.

It was updated on 02/09/2019 still shows processing

We didn't get a confirmation of receipt of passport and documents..I am assuming they received them the next day.

Any how we are just waiting and hoping for a quick turn around
