Geez that's a long time! It probably also depends on a local office. San Francisco one is slow and random. Some people who filed in December 2022-January 2023 got their interviews in April-May while others who filed earlier are still waiting. It also seems like they prioritize cases based on a 5 year rule for citizenship.

Unfortunately, they aren't much of a help. I'm in a similar situation, didn't receive a 48-month extension letter. I already sent two e-requests about a missing form (no response), called 4 different people (Tier 2, infopass), and two of them said the only thing they can do is submit a e-request for me but because I already had one pending they couldn't. Another two told me they can get someone from my local office to contact me regarding a I-551 stamp. Eventually, I got someone from San Francisco field office to call me and they sent me a paper saying that my I-551 is approved, and I will be receiving it via mail in the next week or two. I still don't know why I can't get my 48-months extension. I was also told that my second e-request was already assigned to an officer, but it's been 3 weeks now and I kinda doubt that officer will respond in the next week before the request expires again. Anyway, you can tell I'm full of frustration

November 2021 ROC Filers

Hang in there! I think it might be a good thing that your case wasn't yet transferred. It still might be looked at before they schedule you for N-400 interview. I have no hope at this point and I'm also looking at another 6 months at least at my local office for citizenship interview. On top of that, I still can't get my 48-months extension from USCIS. Calling, e-requests don't work. Grrr. -

It's been saying "Any day now" for over a month. My case was transferred to NBC after filing N-400 so I doubt it will be approved there at all. -
I-751 February 2021 Filers

I know it sucks but there're so many people who wish they were in your shoes in terms of finally having their interviews scheduled. You're very lucky. -
You know it's hard to tell if I-751 getting transferred really does anything for either of the two cases. My case was transferred to NBC 3 weeks after filing N-400 but nothing else happened, it's been just sitting there for over two months now. If it stayed in WAC though it could have better chances to be looked at/approved than at NBC. It's just an unfortunate lottery.

Writing this for you not to feel alone. A friend of mine who lives in Las Vegas filed N-400 with a pending I-751 from December 2021 in February this year. She was supposed to have a N-400 interview 3 weeks ago, but her local USCIS office called her the day before to inform about interview cancellation. An officer said the reason was that they didn't have her I-751 file. A few days later, her I-751 got transferred to NBC. She still hasn't heard from USCIS about a new interview date. I can imagine how frustrating it is to be scheduled and then cancelled. I hope you will get a new interview date, soon! For the very least, you received a 48-month extension that is somewhat comforting while riding these unpredictable immigration waves.

I think everyone has a different experience. I've had I-751 pending since November 2021, filed N-400 in February this year. My I-751 was transferred to NBC on March 2d and that's the only action taken on that case. How soon you get scheduled for N-400 interview also depends on a local office. My office is giving me 7 more months estimate as of today, so it's definitely not a quick process. I don't regret filing N-400 though because it's my end goal anyway.

Thanks for letting me know! I just called USCIS and an agent told me that e-request is apparently the only way to get it. She said since I already have one request in the system she can't submit a new one till someone responds to or 4 more days pass to make it exactly 30 days since my submission. Hopefully, they can send me a copy, too.

Wohoo! Congratulations! So glad he doesn't have to wait for post-interview I-751 approval! @skapali You're not alone. I also have both pending, and SF local office is really slow with scheduling N-400 interviews these days. -

Yeah, I did back in February. My case was transferred to NBC shortly after and now it's just sitting there at "Fingerprints were taken". At first, I thought that after that transfer i-751s have zero chances to be looked at but I saw a few people on Lawfully who got their approvals already at NBC and before N-400 interview was scheduled at a local office. We'll see if I'm lucky -

I'm not sure if it necessarily was the case before the beginning of this year. Now it does look like a lot of N-400 interviews are being scheduled relatively faster, and I-751 are still unapproved before that. Could be linked to an upcoming election next year. It's good that you got your extension letter (I assume you got 48-months one?) Gives some peace of mind if you aren't interested in naturalization. They better take an action on your case before this ridiculously long extension is over! -

Ugh. Did you file N-400 yet? I sure as hell hope you'll hear from them soon! -

Very happy for you finally getting an approval! 🎉 I still think though it's a matter of luck these days. There's a bunch of WAC cases back in 20-21XXX ranges still unapproved (mine included) and not everyone got a 48-months extension letter (me included) 😆 -

Seems like most people have received 48-month extension letters by now. I wonder if my case transfer to NBC has something to do with me not yet having one. -

I know it sucks but taking whatever USCIS asks of you close to heart is only going to make it more difficult for you. I also don't feel comfortable sharing bank statements but I did anyway because in the end of the day I am the one who needs documents. When I had my I-485 interview, I was 7 months pregnant. An officer asked my husband if he was sure that it's his baby multiple times. Did I feel like ****? Hell yes I did. But I continued answering all the question with a smile on my face because yes, love doesn't matter but the documents do. I'm sorry you got an RFE but it's nearly impossible to go through this process without being stripped off any privacy. Like mandalorians say, "this is the way". -

I think only a portion of people received theirs. I'm also from November 2021 but I didn't receive it. -

My status just changed again to "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken". Jesus. I called USCIS this morning and they told me my case is at NBC, couldn't tell anything about a second transfer. I don't quite understand if my case is at NBC and now they've confirmed that my biometrics was reused back at WAC or my case made it to NBC and back that's why status reversed? Does anyone know about similar status change sequences? -

I just got another update with exactly same "Case was Transferred" status. It shows twice in my case timeline now dated yesterday and today. Not sure if it's a bug or it indicates second transfer to my local office.
