N-400 February 2023 Filers
Olga&Jared replied to R_3's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Probably. At this point, I give up trying to make any sense of it I know someone who's been waiting since October 2022 (also at SF office), and their I-751 was approved shortly after filing N-400. I can imagine a lack of motivation to process cases that have I-751 pending and scheduling them for later because of it. But it doesn't make me feel any better. Hope your interview goes smoothly! -
Hey! I sent two electronic requests for a missing form and stated that I never received a 48 month extension but both of them were ignored (even though one of the phone support people I spoke to told me that my requests were assigned to officers and I should receive a response). But basically it came to calling multiple times and speaking to different support people. When I called I used infopass and schedule interview shortcuts to reach an actual person because I found that Tier 1/2 stopped working consistently. I think I spoke to 5 or 6 different people, gathered different pieces of information from each. In my experience, not everyone knows about 48 month extension letters, and if they do they aren’t much help. Though one phone agent actually spent some time looking at the history of everything that was ever mailed to me, that’s how I learnt that I for sure never received it and a post office didn’t lose it. Other agents told me the only thing they can do is place an electronic request for me but because I already had those pending they couldn’t. Two of them did speak about issuing me a stamp instead and I received a call from my local office about a week later. That was another agent telling me that they can’t issue a 48 month extension but can send this stamp. To be honest, I still feel like it’s just a matter of luck. It helps to call multiple times and speak to different people because you never know what can actually be done to aid you because different agents have different fashion of talking and helping people. Most of those I spoke to seemed to just follow scripts, and because my request didn’t align with any of their scenarios they just rushed to dismiss me. Even today I received a second call from my local office but from a different agent when I called about not receiving an actual stamp alongside that confirmation, and unlike another agent who issued that confirmation he said that I can only obtain a stamp once my extension letter is expired, and same goes to receiving a 48 month extension. There’s logics to his statement regarding the stamp, I’m just stressing the different approaches of different agents over the same request. Hope any of this is helpful.

San Francisco N400 cases
Olga&Jared replied to Junior-sfo's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
According to some folks on Reddit who passed their interviews this or last month, you still can have a same-day oath if you choose to and if there's enough time. For a reference, this was posted 5 days ago: -
@beloved_dingo That's correct. The UPS package I received only contained one letter of confirmation, and it stated that I should be receiving documents within 7-10 days after a filing date of that confirmation (which was dated June 1st). I never received that card with a photo like in the examples you shared. When I looked at photos from the first topic I got exactly the same confirmation, but it looks like they had documents attached within the same package. I don't know if they forgot to attach mine or they saw that my extension is still valid and decided not to proceed. But then why mail this confirmation

N-400 February 2023 Filers

It definitely seems to be true for my local office (San Francisco). -
Small update. An officer from my local San Francisco office called me today and said that my 48-month extension should be mailed to me within 30 days of my current extension letter's expiration. If it's not he's going to issue that stamp. He also told me that 48-month extensions are mostly issued when someone's current extension is coming to the end and it makes sense that I haven't received mine. That doesn't seem accurate though given that a lot of users here already received theirs long before their 24-month extension expires but I have no other choice but wait once again 🤪 At least, I spoke to someone who knows about 48-month extension's existence.

N-400 February 2023 Filers
Olga&Jared replied to R_3's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
No idea, they somehow missed me. Maybe because my I-751 was transferred to NBC in the beginning of March (presumably when they were sending those out). I called multiple times and phone support confirmed that 48-month extension was never mailed to me. I also sent electronic requests for a missing form but they were ignored. Because it's still relatively new, there're no clear processes on obtaining one. Phone support can't help with it so they requested a stamp instead. -
N-400 March 2023 filers
Olga&Jared replied to Nody's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Writing this to make you feel better. I filed N-400 on February 11th, San Francisco local office. Still waiting for an interview even though there're other February filers who already got their interviews scheduled in the same field office. I also personally know several folks who've been waiting since October-November last year to be scheduled. Some offices just schedule randomly. One thing I've noticed about San Francisco is that they schedule those who filed under 5 year rule first. I filed under 3 year rule with a pending I-751 so I expect to be waiting a while (even though it is annoying as hell). -
I honestly don’t know how exactly they’re sending 48-month extensions, I’m judging based on VJ topics. Quite a few people among 2021 applicants received theirs somewhere between end of February-mid April, that’s why it makes me feel like I was left out. I did see couple more people who didn’t get theirs but it seems like an exception rather than a rule at this point. Thank you for the link! Yes, it definitely is new. I wonder if they ended up not sending me actual documents following the confirmation because I still have a valid extension letter like Mike was saying, but then it’s weird that they granted me this confirmation in the first place. I still don’t understand why it’s so hard to send me a 48-month extension. Phone support seems to be completely in the dark on this topic, and missing form requests are being ignored whatsoever. After 5 years in this process I don’t trust in the system at all, that’s why when I get extra red flags beyond the insanely long processing times, I start panicking and want some reassurances 🤪.

I wasn’t seeking the stamp, I was seeking a 48-month extension that they owe me and that was never sent to me. They said they’d give me a stamp instead even though my request was always about a 48-month extension. Given that I’ve been trying to get something out of them for 2 months now (still unsuccessfully), I’m glad I’ve started early.

Hey guys! I have a question regarding receiving I-551 by Mail. 2 weeks ago I received a physical mail from my local San Francisco office saying that "USCIS has granted your request and enclosed temporary evidence of your legal status on the Form I-94 with a temporary I-551 stamp. Your I-94# is ******. Your remain authorized to work and travel. Your form I-94 provides evidence of your lawful permanent resident status only until the date referenced on the Form I-94s accompanying I-551 stamp. Please allow seven to ten days to receive your document by mail". This letter is dated June 1st, and I still haven't received anything else. I called USCIS earlier today to ask if there was anything else sent to me but they just put me in line for another call from my local office. Helpful as always 🙄. I requested this stamp because I haven't received a 48-months extension letter that was issued earlier this year to everyone who has a pending I-751, and I couldn't obtain it through e-requests (I already submitted 2 and they both were ignored). If you have an experience receiving this stamp by mail, how long did it take you to receive an actual document after getting this confirmation? I also don't know what to do with I-94 number that was stated in this letter. When I checked my most recent I-94 online, I saw information on my very first entry under K1 visa back in 2019. It also has a different number attached to it, and no other information. I'm getting anxious here. Filed I-751 in November 2021 (WAC), filed N-400 in February 2023 (San Francisco), no 48-month extension. No stamp, still. Any input will be very much appreciated!

N-400 February 2023 Filers
Olga&Jared replied to R_3's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
I know exactly how you feel. My local office seems to prioritize cases filed under 5-year rule. They tend to be scheduled for an interview within 4-5 months while 3-year ones with or without a pending I-751 are taking 11+ months. Which is incredibly frustrating given that I don’t have a 10-year green card in hand and I don’t even have a 48-month extension. -

San Francisco filer. I submitted my N-400 on February 11th, had my biometrics shortly after and case has been actively reviewed since March 7th. I also have a pending I-751 since November 2021. -
November 2021 ROC Filers

Same. Both, in I-751 and N-400 timelines 🤪 I just hope we can get some sort of resolution by the end of this year. Meanwhile, I still haven't gotten my I-551 stamp. I got as far as receiving a mail confirmation for getting one but never got an actual document. Today they put me in line for another call from local office for another stamp. At this point, I have no words 😆 I also thought I'd distract myself by taking time to study civics questions but I ended up memorizing everything in one day. Wasn't a long distraction. -
If it helps, you aren't alone. I have I-751 pending since November 2021, and it was at the fastest WAC (at that time). I also filed N-400 in February 2023, and I'm still waiting. While I totally share your anger and frustration with this forever-taking process, I also agree with those who write that 4 months waiting for N-400 is not a long time, and there's still hope. It does feel weird to me writing these lines given that I google latest topics with I-751 hashtag almost daily at this point, but let's just hope we get invited soon I know my local office used to take 14-18 months for N-400 just over a year ago and processing time is at 4-10 months now. While rationally I understand that it's much faster, psychologically it's still difficult to handle because I've been waiting since bloody 2021. We're just too tired for being patient again, for one more case. But in the end of the day, it's the case to set us free.

November 2021 ROC Filers
Olga&Jared replied to beloved_dingo's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
That's taking insanely long time! I'm sorry 😥 You didn't file N-400, right? I assumed that everyone from November filers who didn't go for citizenship got their I-751 approved by now. Also, I keep seeing more and more I-751 approvals for those who filed this year. Saw someone on lawfully getting approved in 66 days yesterday. That makes me so angry 🤬 -

@OldUser Did you get an approval yet? -
Glad you got to talk to a real person! Did they say if it would be scheduling for a stamp or actual 48-month extension? You got me inspired to call again today, and I got someone who could check all the notices that were mailed to me and they confirmed that 48-month extension wasn't mailed at all. But, they also couldn't help me other than encourage me to keep waiting for my stamp or someone to respond to my e-request.
