  1. Will do! We have our passport application appointment this morning! Thank you! It really is! It's just a relief to be done. Funny enough, my cousin will be embarking on the same journey starting next week when he marries his Thai fiancé. We've promised to help with their CR1 application. VisaJourney has been so wonderful. We couldn't have gotten through the 6 years without it. The collective knowledge and resources were tremendously helpful in our case. A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributes!!!!
  2. My husband had his Oath ceremony today at the Sacramento Field Office. Thank goodness we got there an hour early, because there was a huge line when we arrived. It took almost an hour to just enter the building; then, it was a mad dash to find the correct conference room. There were only two signs regarding the oath ceremonies taking place, and both were wrong. Lol Thank goodness a lady noticed our confused expressions and directed us to the correct room. The ceremony itself was a bit anticlimactic. We arrived late. It had already started, but the USCIS officers were very kind and got my husband signed in quickly. Although the notice said "No Guests", one of the officers cleared a seat for me, so I could watch. The whole thing lasted maybe 15 minutes, very informal and perhaps a little rushed, because they were behind schedule. Once they passed out the certificates, they said, "Congratulations, you're free to go!" Haha We hung around a little to take photos and that was it. From start to finish, it's been a 6 year journey. The citizenship process itself took just 6 months. We're so happy and so relieved we are done with the immigration process.
  3. Good morning from California! My husband attended his naturalization interview today at the Sacramento field office. We weren't sure if the office was going to be open or if his appointment was still valid given the government shutdown, but we arrived 30 minutes before the appointment, and everything seemed business as usual. Check-in was smooth, and we only waited maybe 15-20 minutes before being called. I'm so happy to say my husband passed his interview!!!! He was called at 8:43am and was finished by 8:49am. A few minutes later, he got the MyUSCIS email notification that his case has been updated. An hour later, he received another email notice that his oath ceremony has been scheduled for Oct. 15. We're loving that the final steps are happening quickly. Our timeline: 4/17/2025: N400 application submitted online, received notice same day that USCIS is able to reuse biometrics 9/17/2025: Received notice that naturalization interview has been scheduled 10/1/2025: Attended interview (PASSED!) 10/15/2025: Oath ceremony
  4. I remember we received the biometrics appointment for Sacramento like a week apart. We never applied for the N-400, but my husband got his GC on 10/2/2023. We were totally surprised. No interview needed. Hang in there.
