  1. Spousal visa. The system wouldn't let me change it.
  2. it was pretty quick. We got DQed on March 18th and we got the interview letter on April 12th for a May 9th interview but we couldn't make the May 9th interview so we rescheduled it for May 30th.
  3. Hi we are based in South Africa so everything was done here. We didn't expedite. From I-130 filing to getting the visa was 482 days. Interview was on Thursday and we got the visa Friday.
  4. Hi my husband was granted his visa. We're a February 2023 I-130 filer. Interview was yesterday and he picked up the passport today with visa. He's Nigerian but based in South Africa.
  5. Hiii! It was him! I was laughing like wait.. this visit isn't for me but at least I am glad he agreed to see me because I was sick! Definitely solid!
  6. Do you have anything else tying you to the USA like a bank account, business, remote job from a USA based company, tax returns, USA based cell phone or anything else? How often are you in the states?
  7. HI I don't have much advice but we're an I-130 filer. We got the NVC case created in January, got DQ'ed 60 days later in March (we submitted the final info in March hence the long time), interview notice in April and interview set for May. Not sure what's happening with K-1. We didn't call them or email. Just waited.. I hope things are going to happen for you soon.
  8. HI! Can you please move it to the Africa:Sub Saharan section since it's South Africa? Thank you!
  9. Last week my husband had his medical exam in Cape Town, South Africa. I went with him to the office. I waited in the reception area while he was getting checked in. I hadn't been feeling the greatest that morning and all of a sudden, I got choked up and ran out of the doctor's office...ended up throwing up all over the floor just a few meters away from the door. My husband came out running to check on me. I told him I wasn't in any condition to come back in so just call me when it's done. He stopped at a nearby pharmacy to get me some medicine and I just waited downstairs. He went back into the office and started his exam. The receptionist told the doctor how sick I was.......they told my husband to call me and the doctor demanded that I see him..... lol ended up with some prescriptions and now I am feeling much better! This is probably crazy since the medical exam was for my husband but I turned out to be the sick one and needed the exam! LOL.. Anyone else have this issue?
  10. Congrats to you!!!! My husband's interview is next week and we're excited about everything. It has been a long process but definitely worth it!
  11. February 2023 flier. Husband is Nigerian and interview is in one month but in South Africa.
  12. I know you didn't ask for mental health advice but I feel like you are trying to marry this person to fill a void in your life. If you're going to do this, you're going to need to be able to follow all of the protocol as listed by the USCIS. You're going to need a sponsor and the value of the house doesn't factor into play here. Either you figure out how to earn more income or just hold off for a while. This isn't idea and if you barely have funds now, it's going to be even hard as you'll now need to support yourself and him (depending on how long it takes to find employment). Anything is possible but this requires some divine intervention. Best wishes.
  13. I think you just need to bring it. My husband and I are waiting for his interview and the email we received said that at the time of the interview, assets, income or proof of current employment might be required. So for me, this means just bring it.
  14. How are you all doing? I can see DQ on March 19th on the CEAS site but I haven't received a message yet. I did have to submit my prior divorce info but other than that, we wait. I wonder how long it will take to get the interview.
  15. I'm a February 2023 filer and we were approved for the I-130 in January 2024 so it was 11 months for us. I don't think you can contact them until you get to the priority date or whatever it is called.
  16. Pay no attention to that timeline....we had all ranges from 8 months, 2 months, 5 weeks, it's taking more time, etc.. It took us 11 months and I am a February 2023 filer for the I-130.
  17. Woohooo!! We are just waiting for this last document 🙂 Best wishes to you!!!
