That's amazing, congrats!
May I ask how did you get the Expedited Processing with USCIS?

Hi @laianjeiraab!
My No Objection Statement was received a day after yours (See attached timeline). Have you received anything yet?
I have a job waiting for me, but they will only wait until September. This whole thing is driving me crazy!
hey guys, my timeline has been the same. They got my NOS on 22 May and I've been waiting since... keep me in the loop with yalls updates!! I'll do the same (were you guys sponsored by any gvt, state etc or straightforward case? Mine is the skills list)

Hey all! What is a reasonable timeline to get a favorable recommendation from DOS?
My case is supposed to be straight forward and no govt funding, etc, I only got the restrisction based on skills list. It's been already 5 weeks since they updated receiving all my documents, including NOS, and still no updates of favorable recommendation on the DOS website.
Is there any action that I could take proactively at this point or just keep waiting?
Also - I now have a wedding license to support my case. Is it still possible/makes sense to send documents to my case at this point?

Hey guys - today I received the acknowledgement that my documents were received (yay!)
It doesn't show the Non Objection Letter yet, but I know my embassy has already sent it (last week). Who should I contact to make sure they update it? Is it that j1 waiver email or is there a telephone number?

Oh, please disregard all my comments then. I was engaged for a while during my 2 year window and I had a CAPES scholarship before. That's why it was not a valid reason.
I'd suggest you to email the embassy in NY. They answer within a few days.. If you look at the embassy NOS form there is an area to put information about marriage.
Awesome, thanks, I'll check! That's why I thought marriage was a legit "excuse", I may have seen this form before. I just wanted reassurance if it works as a sole purpose for the US waiver approval, or if by simply being engaged would be a "passing" excuse (since I don't want to get married and be married & away from my future husband for 2 years if anything goes wrong with the process...

You need a letter from the sponsor (CAPES, CNPQ?) to get the NOS. Engagement/Marrying is not a valid case for it.If you are married to an US citizen you should go to the green card process - you don't need to get any other visa.
I'm on an intern category of the J1 visa so I don't have to request anything to any Brazilian entities like CAPES or CNPQ. I've paid on my own for my J1 visa, and my program isn't either anyhow related to the US or BR Gov. I'm only subject for the 2 year rule because of the skills list.
From what I came across so far, to get any type of residency moving forward I still have to go through the waiver, or go home lol. Even to apply for the green card. I also read that marriage does waive the rule. Has anyone gone through this case?

Hey!
Yeah, I was in Brazil during the whole process. The embassy sent the No Objection Statement directly to the Department of State but they also sent me a copy via email, so that's probably why you got it.
Hope you get rid of this drama soon.
Jumping in on this convo, hi Brazilian fellows! - were you engaged or were you already married when requesting the waiver?
I'm trying to figure out if engagement is a strong enough reason for the BR embassy to give the non objection statement? Or do they only give it through marriage?
And if you marry in the US and have to return to Brazil, how does the process go? Which visa would you apply if you are already married to an US citizen and have a waiver approval?
Obrigada!
