  1. You added the word "therapist" to your list of places to seek help. How could I misconstrue that? You're entitled to your opinion. I'm just not interested in the opinion of someone who suspects I'm mentally disturbed......or worse.
  2. I recognize that USCIS has absolute power over immigration. In fact that is the problem. An old expression says:" Absolute power corrupts absolutely" Truer words were never spoken. I recognize the futility of resisting the rules but at the same time I recognize the benefits of pointing out governmental abuse when I see it. Apparently you don't.
  3. Two responses to your post: First, thank you for the link. I will see what they have to offer. Second, your suggestion that I'm mentally ill is insulting. If you really think, that I'd prefer you reply no further. Recognizing a governmental abuse does not constitute mental illness. An old expression says: "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." Truer words were never spoken. USCIS has absolute power over immigrants and they have definitely become corrupted.
  4. I only know about the K1s getting screwed over. If you say there are others, I believe you.The guilty party is the one who gets deported. Maybe you don't consider that a punishment but I do. And if my wife is guilty so am I. We did the same thing. As far as I know USCIS doesn't press charges against the US citizen. I'm sure their legal department told them it would never fly. I believe I could convince a judge to see this my way although I have no plans to do so. It wouldn't surprise me if the immigration judges already agree with me. I'm sorry you don't. BTW, there's nothing even slightly edgy about our marriage. We have lived together as a married couple every minute of every day since her plane landed in the US. I would think nearly 5 years of that would be enough to satisfy even USCIS.
  5. I beg to differ with you. Someone is out to get me but not just me. It's every US citizen spouse of a K1 bride. The US constitution says that all citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. That includes me. There's little doubt that USCIS is threatening to deport my wife if we don't prove we didn't break any of their rules pertaining to our marriage. And, we don't even get the benefit of a court of law. If USCIS finds 90%+ of K1 marriages to be legitimate then clearly there's no need to threaten deportation. An old expression: It's better that 10 guilty people go free than one innocent person be found guilty.
  6. I do take this very seriously. I spent many hours preparing our original i751 but we live very simply. My health doesn't allow travel and neither of us have any family nearby. Also, I'm doing this very grudgingly because I firmly believe that the rule USCIS uses to compel an American citizen (me) to prove he is innocent of a crime is unconstitutional. If I were younger I would spend every dime I have on lawyers to fight this.
  7. USCIS is already in possession of my will which leaves most of my belongings to my daughter (previous marriage) except my (substantial) savings account to my wife. Apparently they were not impressed.
  8. I have come to the same conclusion, but surely you must have submitted more evidence than a joint bank statement??? I have already submitted much evidence that would be more convincing to me. I have already opened a joint savings account and I plan to add her name to all my utility accounts but I'm afraid USCIS will say that recent statements ONLY do not prove anything for the past 5 years.
  9. In Jan 2023 my wife & I filed our I751. In a cover letter I explained to USCIS that my wife & I had long ago decided that we would not mingle our assets, past or future and that neither of us had any debt to share. Therefore we would not be able to furnish any of their suggested documents of shared responsibility for indebtedness. We did furnish several documents I thought should be sufficient to lift the restrictions including our marriage documentations which (as of this writing) are currently almost 5 years old. That's right, we've been married and living in the same house every day for almost 5 years. In Sept 2024 we received an RFE requesting the same documents we were unable to provide with the original filing. It sounds to me like they are requesting us to open joint accounts and create joint loans so as to be able to provide documents to prove their existence. I really don't know what else to do. I'm hoping someone here has some better ideas. Thanks for listening. BTW, the RFE is from the service center in Irving, Tx, not California.
