At POE, declaring that you are visiting your fiance is generally considered to be a risk factor. Be prepared to prove that you are coming back. Actually "boyfriend" is not exactly safe either.
Bartek
I dont quite understand what you mention here - how can meeting the fiance be a risk fastor? If you are coming here on K-1 visa to meet and "MARRY" the fiance, then what is the need to show that you will be coming back?????

This is such a wonderful website and so much to learn here. One (seemingly) stupid question then
...
for some of the papers like Credit card statements etc, I am using a highlighter to highlight
the exact charge in the list of other charges. Is this acceptable, advisable?

I just want to know if some one has some idea on this subject.
From USCIS perspective, when are you considered a fiancee (or fiance)?
After a personal meeting?
After a personal meeting and exchange or a ring?
Even prior to personal meeting if there is evidence that there is some relationship?
What exactly is the definition?

thanks Bora Bora,
She knew me when she applied for the Student Visa but we were not engaged then. The DS156 form only asked about if you know someone in USA who is related to you (father, mother, daughter, son, fiance). She was not asked this question verbally also at the consulate that time. But ofcourse she knew me and we were close friends but had never met in person earlier.
If this question comes up, we plan to be honest about it.
Juleszabelle, I dont understand which waiver are you talking about?

ok thanks !
However, as part of the denial they never give any reason. They only stamp the passport with the Rejected stamp and I think some code there. So basically we dont know the absolute technical reason (but can intuit the reason as being not able to prove enough strong ties to come back).

My fiancee (actually before we were engaged) tried to come to US on student visa last year and the student visa was denied at moscow consulate. Does this have any negative impact on I-129F petition/process? For fiancee visa now, would the consular (it would be moscow consulate again) be mentioning/grilling her on the student visa case? anything to keep in mind? thank you !!

PartB Section 18 of I-129F requires to describe the cirsumstances of personal meeting.
What exactly is needed here? Is is only a general brief essay on how you met, where you met etc?
Any pointers would be helpful and much appreciated please !

ok, thank you!
Can we get this translation done anywhere? I mean, can I have my fiancee get it done through anyone in Russia or does it have to be someone in US? Any such condition?

..and if all this needs to be translated...can my fiancee do it herself..she knows english and russian both. Would such translation be valid?

My fiancee is from Russia and I had visited her during Aug last year. The hotel where i had stayed had receipts in Russian. The credit card transaction slips are also in Russian, the restaurant receipts are all in Russian. Is it required to get all this translated in English for filing with I-129F?
Would appreciate all comments and feedback please. Any experience in this regard?

Letters exchanegd snail mail - what to send?
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
We exchange lot of greeting-cards with each other, which we send via snail mail to each other.
To include these as part of on-going relationship evidence, what is recommened to include :
1. Just the copy of the envelop (side with addresses/stamps etc)?
or
2. Is it recommended to include the inside of the cards too
(which might have mushy details)
