  1. Book flights in the name on the passport. Carry the marriage certificate as evidence of name change .. it links the passport name with the GC name
  2. You do not need to have the SSN in hand to be employed. You can work as soon as you find a job in the Us after entering. Go to SSA the day you enter the US with all the documents they request and apply for your SSN. Returning to the home country for a period after becoming an LPR is not unusual .. often needed to tie up loose ends etc.. But treating your LPR status as a visitor “ visa” Is not going to end well. CBP will eventually ask why.
  3. Incorrect. The stamped passport is the temporary gc document until the physical card arrives.
  4. The warning about getting the SSN before marrying is if the marraige certificate shows a name change for by the k1 holder. Unless you are changing your last name after marrying your fiancé, there is not an issue for your SSN application Go to SSN asap.. nothing to do with you getting married. Breathe 😁 File the AOS as soon as have the paperwork in hand. The K1 “ expired “ the moment you entered the US. Your period of authorized stay ends 90 days after entering. Getting a SSN when entering on the K1 must be done well before the 90 day ends otherwise the SSA check on your lawful stay Status won’t get completed before the 90 days is up. Once the 90 days ends, you cannot apply for a SSN using AOS application documentation. You must wait until you have either your employment authorization or the actual Green Card in hand. Can take months and months ..
  5. While it is not recommended to be without a current passport, if he was to not leave the US until he naturalized, then he can live here without a current Nepalese passport. Usually expired passports are still valid for a ID purposes for a period of time
  6. As each case processing time is so dependent on so many things .. most out of your control!! Neither estimates can be thought of as accurate for a specific application. The estimates are both statistical calculations but there is no way of knowing where your particular case will end up on that timeline. Unfortunately, it’s not like a parcel tracker with USPS, Fedex etc
  7. Agreed. This wont happen before two days time.. So if you cannot locate the GC, you will need to postpone the travel. Strong incentive to have another really really good look…. Have you asked your mom to look ?? 🤣
  8. Usually 3 months of paystubs and the letter of employment are enough. An updated I864 to take to the interview along with the paystubs. The only catch i see is if the NVC officer decides the assists aren’t acceptable and sends an RFE for a joint sponsor before they will DQ If that happens you will have to do plan C.. She immediately relocates etc and you submit a new I864 to NVC after 3 months of her work, assuming the income is above the limit
  9. I had success with the passport a couple of times too The CBP officer will ask to see the GC if needed.
  10. When i was an LPR and entering using the GE gate, the GC scan was more miss than hit. Yes the reverse side goes down onto the screen as it reads the machine code like it does for a passport Thankfully the facial recognition is easier. Am now a USC so I am done with the GC problems too
  11. @Captain Ewok working on Safari now. You are a miracle worker !!!! Thx
  12. You will need to email the consulate and lay all this info out .. and request a reissue for the new dates. You must include clear documentation from the course provider confirming the date changes
  13. I still can’t load on safari. Works fine on Chrome. Using i phone
  14. Leave everything that isn’t needed for the interview with the accommodation desk where you stay the night before. They are usually happy to hold things a few hours
  15. Leave everything that isn’t needed for the interview with the accommodation desk where you stay the night before. They are usually happy to hold things a few hours
  16. Moved to removal of Conditions forum as this reflects the current stage of OPs journey
  17. No not correct. Read the USCIS information to understand the requirements for naturalization and make sure your international travel falls within the parameters Its better for you to read the v official info than get someone elses summary of an often complex assessment. That’s why i point posters back to the official source rather than trying to fully explain
  18. No. The applicant must meet both the physical presence and the continuous residence requirements.. look at the instructions on the USCIS N400 page .. as well as having been resident in the state you live when you apply for at least 90 days before applying. Absences for vacations don’t break the 90 day state residency. Absences from the US can break Continuous Residency depending on length and frequency
  19. 😓. But better that you were able to read it and rule it out than find out after filing the I130 that the DCF has been possible. Good luck
  20. Thx. I will get the mods to delete the duplicates
