  1. You are not hiding anything. This is the correct way of reporting your situation. My son filed for both of us (parents) and this is how he successfully completed and submitted the AOS for for each of us No RFE
  2. Each AOS family number will be you+your spouse and dependents + 1 At this time you aren’t actually sponsoring anyone.. Not until the visa is granted and activated wrestled with this same question a few years ago.. same scenario
  3. Huh. I had to sign mine at the registration table before the ceremony.
  4. One Aussie to another .. well done !! Yes go ahead and do the N400 and be done with USCIS. The citizenship test is very “doable” with a couple of weeks of rote learning before the Interview. No doubt at all that you will pass it !!!
  5. It may be the readability of the scan. Accept only means they received it into the system not that it is deemed correct
  6. You were supposed to sign it in front of the agent before the ceremony. How did this not happen?
  7. Met within the last 2 years refers to face to face meeting. Where are you both ?
  8. Sometimes they want the original paper copy. Take that and several photocopies in case they want to keep one.
  9. You could skip under the radar without any issues or you could get asked more tricky questions any time .. If you are asked the “ Where do you live “ question, its likely that you would get a stern warning that will be recorded on your file .. and you would then have to do much more to establish ties and be seen as having domicile in the US. Everyone will have a different feeling towards risk and what you feel ok to run with will be by different to me or others on here
  10. You paid money for poor service. Show your “advisor” this and firmly request a refund of service fees paid to them. From the State website
  11. What stage are you are with the N400 process. ? Initial submission? RFE? Post interview ?? my general reply to “ how long “question is “ how long is a piece of string? .. read “no idea”
  12. No attorney needed for this as long as you have good documentation and clear records. Good to do Dec 2024 as you are clear of the 3 years
  13. A bigger picture thought is that it may well work once but not a second time unless she spends significant time in the US .. so it is not really a long term solution
  14. I hope you were actually going for naturalisation not neutralisation !! 🤪 Please post a photo of the actual paperwork you were given with personal details redacted. It helps us to give the best answer if we can see the paperwork.
  15. she will most probably be asked how long she has been out of the US and why. That can trigger what can be very solid questioning by CBP and can be very intimidating especially to sometimes who is not confident in arguing the finer points of the law. If you are considering having her try, it might be worth considering going to her home county and traveling back with her.
  16. Yes it is one possibility. CBP doesn’t take “Not knowing” very well. Technically she should be let in but this is a very challenging way to try to renter and not for the uninformed or unprepared as arriving in Secondary inspection is pretty confrontational
  17. The option is to finally stop being naive and do things right. This will take time but it’s better than continuing the way you are going Relinquish the GC formally using I407 Apply for a visitor visa after that step 1 has been completed No it wont happen in time for the baby’s birth But this is the reality of living in different countries to your parents / children. A reality we all live with on here
  18. Uscis website has everything laid out clearly Follow the good on the vj website. You need to understand the process well by doing lots of your own research and study That’s how each of us started. Happy to answer specific questions as you work through the process b Read the guides and the Uscis instructions. Everything is explained there
  19. https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-british-parent/born-on-or-after-1-july-2006 This tells you how to apply for a UK passport for children born overseas to UK parent
  20. You can only pay this fee after the visa has been issued and you have your passport in hand You will need info from the visa foil, which is only available once you have the visa in hand
  21. 1. Yes i understand 2. This may or may not be successful. You have done what you can with NVC 3. You will. This is automated . 4. They might. 5. If this happens you will need to be in contact with the Consulate. They may or may not do what you want them to.
  22. Then you wait another week .. repeat .. until they have the case in hand
  23. It will now be up to the Consulate to determine. Email the Syd consulate using your case number as the title line. They are usually pretty responsive
