Hi,
I am a US Citizen (Los Angeles based) and my mother is currently here in the US. I am filing the following forms for her and I wanted to check for your insights with regards to the supporting documents/requirements I am submitting.
I have consulted with an immigration lawyer and he has verified all my forms have been submitted correctly.
Form I-130
- sponsor's naturalization certificate
- sponsor's birth certificate showing beneficiary as mother
- my parents are divorced and my dad has remarried, so I am including their divorce decree (Lake County, Illinois)
- fee of $535 (personal check)
Form I-485
- two copies of my mother's 2x2 photo
- photocopy of my mom's passport (information page, stamped page when she entered the US)
- photocopy of my mom's old passport as it has her US tourist visa in it.
- my mother's birth certificate
- I-94 for my mom
- I-864 signed by me along with proof of income. (Tax docs: W2, 1040 forms from the past 3 years)
- Fee of $1225 (personal check)
I am also sending application for I-765 as advised so my mother can already apply for SSN if approved
I am also sending G-1145
QUESTIONS:
- Should I send a photocopy of all the pages of my mom's passport (even blank ones)
- Should I be sending I-693 (medical) or wait til they request for it? How does the medical work? I did something similar with mine when my husband petitioned me, but I think I did medical at the same time.
- I was planning on putting some sticky notes as description to some supporting documents like birth certificates, is that okay?
Any other insights you can share with me? Thank you!
